I would tell theymos to have fun staying poor, except that I have my doubts that he is in any way short bitcoin..  or that he is waiting for the price to go to $60k so he can buy more.

I will have to look at that referenced thread.. even though I might not be able to get to it in the next day or two.. based on some other things that I am trying to take care of .. and so maybe by the time I get to looking at the thread and seeing the context of theymos's post, his prediction might have had already come true.  Who knows?.. we do seem to be experiencing some downity momentum and the moment, and sometimes it can be difficult to know if the momentum will stop or if it might start to snowball and cause the previously thought to be unthinkable to transform into more likely to become thinkable.

There's a power struggle happening in the US where the current king wants to leave the throne dirty and the vault empty for his successor. A lot of people put leveraged bets on Trump to create a bitcoin reserve and I'm pretty sure people close to Trump did that as well, so Biden is trying to hurt them by dumping bitcoin on the market.
Panic doesn't hurt holders, but leveraged traders, Wall Street guys who went 10x on the fact that we could have a new ATH this Spring.

I think joe Biden has tried his best in the past through propaganda and other means to make sure that trump doesn't come back to power but all his plans and agendas failed so if few days to his leaving office he wants to leave dirty by dumping Bitcoin on the market I don't see in any way that it's going to affects the price of Bitcoin because trump is coming with a mandate and that mandate is to make America the country with the highest Bitcoin reserves because the fact is that for those who has made investment in bitcoin there is nothing that biden will do that will affects them as long as they hold on to their investments

You are joking, right? We are approaching the final phase of the bull market. Based on previous cycles, we are going to reach the top in fall/winter this year so we are approximately 11 months away from the top. So, there's 99% possibility that price will increase and will be higher 3 months from now.

If you absolutely need to sell, do it, but as late as possible.

The U.S. Department of Justice has been granted court approval to sell 69,370 Bitcoin (Silk Road seized Bitcoin) it would seem. A lot of FUD is to be expected, which will drive the price down. The selling itself, IF it happens, will not have a significant effect on the price, ironically.

My rant is if you live in a desert (LA is a desert it cheats with irrigation)  

don't plant shit that burns like a mother fucker.

Have metal roofs
Have cement exterior walls
Have metal shutter you can close for windows
Do gravel/rock/cacti landscaping.

All of that could and would have reduced the damage.

I live in an area central NJ that does not drought much. But this fall we have a strong drought and a lot of fires.

I was very happy that I was not living in the Pineland's as that burns nasty in a forest fire.

Do I know how these fires started? No. Do I think that if they do discover how they started it will lead back to some nutty brainwashed liberal trying to shine a light on global warming? Yes. Time will tell. History doesn’t always repeat, but it does usually rhyme.

normally that's my thinking. However I need some fiat within the next 3 months.

Price is 15% under the ATH now, but that's more acceptable for me than hoping for team Biden not to throw the 70k coins onto the market before they leave office. I don't like gambles like that..

Also I hold my BTC for more than a decade and this price is more than i could dreamed of back then... So fasten your belts, I pulled the trigger, I sold 0.1% of my stash  

Still, I hope the price is at 150k in 3 months!  But it's good to have peace of mind. We will see how bad (or good) this trade for dirty fiat turns out to be
