Technically yes but in reality, a lot have changed. Halving will happen in four years but the predictive bull and bear season that comes with it would have been distorted by ETF approval and the inflow of institutional funds. It will not be wise to expect everything to remain the same.

By the 4 -years cycles, we are supposed to be entering bear season this year but frankly speaking, I'm not ruling out the possibility of Bitcoin making a new ATH this year and if that happens, it contradicts the cycle we all knew. The only reasonable way to approach the market at this time is to play for the long term, and never hoping on buying on bear season and selling in bull season in a predictive manner like we used to have.
Happy new year HODLers

Buying and selling based on cycle was a bad idea, even when we had more confidence about the cycle theory existing, and for example in 2017 there were all kinds of folks who sold way too many coins too early in the $2,500 to $5k range on the way up the first time, and sure maybe some of them were able to buy back on the 2018 dip, but they were largely just buying back at the same-ish price that they sold, at best.  It has never really been a great practice to sell with expectations of buying back cheaper, since it is bringing gambling to such a great investment like bitcoin, and sure some folks cannot help themselves but to gamble and they even proclaim that they profit from selling and buying back cheaper.. yet just like many gamblers, they are likely merely spinning favorable facts rather than really dealing with the negative consequences in terms of trading and/or gambling with bitcoin rather than investing into it.

Ha!  I watched the New Year celebrations at midnight Greenwich Mean Time on the TV to give me a few hours buffer in case I fell asleep for ours.  I was nodding off but the family woke me up a few minutes before the official celebration in our time zone.  I guess the novelty of a new year has worn off at my age.  I partied harder for the last Bitcoin halving than for this New Year though there were a lot more people around me last night than at the Bitcoin halving.

And my thumb got crushed in the door at the Casino.

Friggin throbbing like hell.

The whole thing is purple, it popped like a zit and spewed blood in 2 directions.

Probably gonna have to go and get an x-ray today.

Drove home 20mph in a snowstorm.

Damn great start to the year and don't ask me how much I lost. Cheesy

I feel the usual 4 year cycles are dead from now on

We had an ATH but this should have been a green year. In addition we now have 2 of 4 red years, when it was always just one.

Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome to the club.

The question is do we act like gold did 1992-2002

Stay in a 200-400 slot and now it is 11x bigger.

So does btc do 75k-135k for 6,7  years than go to a million around 2033?

6 , 7 was intentional

I am ok with Bitcoin going to million in 2033. 7 Years are not too far.

BTC Happy New Year
While some are already in 2nd January 2026  some are still in December 2025, that is the uniqueness of position (x) and time (t) from where many theories and mathematical models were derived. Whatever the time where we are, what is constant is the price of Bitcoin... let's make the best of this year.

I second that...a thumb injury makes it difficult to do almost anything with that hand...hoping that it would heal fast.

I was so involved in NY celebration among friends that I forgot to make a NY resolution this time, so I am resolution-less for 2026  Grin.
I wonder what it means?
Hopefully, it means that I am free to do whatever.
