what are you talking about?

you don't see silver up 3+trillion in market cap since jan of 2025
you don't see gold up 15 trillion in market cap since jan of 2025
you don't see platinum and palladium up about 1 trillion combined since jan 2025

Market cap is not very useful and triply so with Bitcoin where it is hard to say exactly how many coins are even available.

For example: If we have 1M WO coins worth 1000, that's a market cap of 1B. If you sell me one for 2000, that is a market cap of 2B. That doesn't mean 2B entered the market. Of course, this cuts both ways.

well on ebay alone there are more than 200.000  silver dollar sales as I type

not to mention

halfs
quarter
dimes

or rounds
and bars

or foreign coins that are silver.

Literally just got off the phone with a buddy that was complaining no dealers will, buy his silver and I reminded him about five years ago when I told him to buy bitcoin when he sold his GE stock. He didn't like being reminded. I told him about a guy online that's been able to sell on ebay but he won't use ebay so whatever let him hold that crap till it crashes again,  what do I care.

Silver closed over 96 an oz hit its ATH today

gold closed over 4900 an oz  hit its  ATH today

platinum closed over 2600 an oz hit its ATH today

palladium closed over 1900 an oz it needs to go a lot higher as it went very high

in  March of 2022 about 3000

I wonder if the metals rally dies off when palladium gets over 3000 to give all

time highs for all the precious metals

Still numbers are nuts.

Copper is close to its ATH of 6 which it hit a few weeks ago

Caroline Ellison has been released from federal prison and is looking rather healthy. It seems prison was good to her. I wonder what is next now that the FTX saga is in the rearview. She already seems to be working to change her image…

The last two years are a bit bizarre in bitcoinland.
What should have been bullish was bearish, etc, etc.

I am also at a loss trying to explain to myself the rise of metals as you cannot buy anything with a chunk of metal and exchanging it is not price-efficient (try to sell a piece of gold at the gold dealer).

It is almost like civilization has lost it's wits and became, effectively, a blubbering moron.
That said, I am not sure what to do about it...maybe just get a place with a good view, grow fruits and vegetables, swim and take long hikes.

TL;DR With civilization apparently in a nose dive, how one may cope?

-In many countries, perhaps the majority, it is in the law that you cannot
use any other means of payment other than the sovereign currency,
incurring in a crime when using other means of payment, and society accepts
and or is forced to accept, most of the time society accepts and does worse,
it will declares what it has and pay taxes on what it has already paid
and will continue to pay, And I think it's normal(what they want), all a thief wants,
is to know what you have to be able to rob you, thieves don't steal what they don't know.

"what is not seen, is not coveted, who keeps it, have it"

-Living in society is increasingly difficult, since laws are being made to deprive society
of doing what is good for them, and only doing what the government wants you to do.

- I agree that living in a distant place is a good option but at the same time,
I see that governments are also going after these people who want to live their own life,
they consider it an insult to be self-supporting = sustainable, and not to give up on them.

-------

-This index shows that over the years, it is risking less in sales, it could be an increase in
confidence, and or merely, a decrease in interest in this index, in this brokerage

interesting that nobody is talking about the seemingly upcoming softfork

If this is what you mean below BIB 444 I assume?

what do you give it for odds of being implemented in 2026?

Brian Armstrong said that they are still discussing the Crypto bill and will be finalized next month.

Bitcoin pumps ---> portion of gold/silver moves into Bitcoin ---> retail fomo ---> Wallstreet and WO selling making a killing ---> retail fcked again -as always-.

Numbers could go from ~$200,000 to over $300,000.

That would be nice, especially if it is this year.

Again my view is it will not happen....the banks won't allow stablecoins to get fees and the only fix would be to allow exchanges to be banks

not gonna happen

right now without rules I can get 4.5% yearly on USDT as such on Coinbase....I can't get 4% on CDs from my bank in 4 years

just can't happen

IF they could split stablecoin and bank stuff off the bill..it would pass but don' t think that is allowed

so...it is dead, IMHO, like 'most' legislation until after 2026 midterms

I'd LOVE to be WRONG

spell it out for me..use small words...I just can't see it happening though I'd agree with above that if it did go through BTC/Crypto would boom

again. love to be wrong ..I can use a little help in Minnesota right now ...what a sh*t show here

This is so fascinating to me.  There is only one way this plays out for countries that do this. And I'm not just talking about the Bitcoin part. Taxing unrealized gains on investments is a level of state robbery that we've never seen before. It will just drain people's accounts into non-existence.

So if this does indeed spread, if it can even be upheld in the Netherlands, my God, may someone see the light there. It's insane because it's going to wreck the economies of every country that tries to employ this kind of draconian bullshit.
For me the question is simple: If I can be taxed on unrealized gains in a year then... ok, fine.
So how do I file for a tax rebate/refund for unrealized losses?

The state is taxing my unrealized gains, thus they must also compensate me for my unrealized losses.

Right?

Yea!....Lightfoot...I used to send him 3 BTC to repair like 3 or so Titan Cubes or some such....back when...sheesh......2014 or so

As I look across the Living Room at my 1 BTC Kirby Vacuum cleaner I got in November 2017...ah...LTC Mining to BTC ASAP....that was the right choice indeed vs LTC HODL

like Charlie Lee now regrets.

https://www.facebook.com/david.willock.3/videos/just-in-charlie-lee-says-he-regrets-ever-creating-litecoin-and-wishes-he-just-bo/24582520464784001/

Well in my case, at least it was NOT 90 BTC for a sports car that a friend can never, ever sell now or another friend who spent 3 BTC on his wife's bike in the garage yet!

Lightfoot sent you a PM to catch up Smiley

She turns state evidence in the case, I'd assume and good behavior, I'd also assume.

Those 'private keys' on 'hidden wallets' of BTC/Crypto will now be quite handy.

Be very, very, careful however with the Feds thou...lol...Smiley
