I'm reading some news today...

Fake knews or real knews?
Who knews?

I mean, DUDE!
Why the fuck don't you just look at THE HAND before spreading fake AI-pics like this one?
Do you think this guy has only three knuckles (and either 3 or 5 fingers) on his right hand?
The arm-to-hand posture is unnatural, and if i'd look more closely i'd find some other AI errors in this "photograph".
(EDIT: I actually did and already wanted to cry out loud after looking at the watch and chin...)
Is it only me? I know, details tend to sting in my eyes before my brain "assembles" the whole picture in my mind, but i don't believe that even more than 50% who actually look (at hands in this case, as mostly with this kind of "photographs" of people), are missing those details.

However, this fake "photograph" trend really seems to get a problem. Every other pic has to be checked for AI already. This makes reading the web, especially on "news sites" pretty complicated and unnatural. Or do i suffer from some kind of "fake-news-paranoia"?

The image is taken from the video -> https://x.com/CalltoActivism/status/2013320184942014733

Analyzed for deepfake and shows the following result :

https://deepfakedetection.io/deepfake-image-detection

Quote
The image shows some potential signs of AI influence, particularly in the slightly smoothed skin texture, and somewhat unnatural eye reflections. However, other aspects like facial asymmetry and mostly consistent lighting suggest it may be an authentic photo, possibly with some editing or filtering. The text looks to belong there.

Eye Reflections

30%

The catch lights in the eyes appear somewhat unnatural and lack complexity.

Skin Texture

35%

The skin appears somewhat smooth, possibly indicating airbrushing or AI generation.

Text on Uniform

20%

The text on the uniform appears to be of high quality but integrated naturally within the image and perspective.

Lighting Consistency

20%

The lighting and shadows appear generally consistent with the apparent light sources.

Background Coherence

25%

The background appears generally coherent without any obvious impossible geometries.

Facial Symmetry

15%

The face exhibits slight asymmetries, which is typical for real faces and doesn't strongly suggest AI generation.

Hair Details

35%

The hair appears somewhat painted but seems to be composed of strands, which is common in real photos, although slightly artificial.

Overall Image Quality

40%

The image has a slightly 'too perfect' quality which is a pattern often seen in AI-generated images, but there's also some compression which suggests this could be a real photo.

Why would it be strange that a man who has been repeatedly accused of racism and who is said to have a penchant for some very harsh methods would not greet in this way? Maybe the picture and video are fake, but as someone said, how do you know what's real and what's not?

Don't give too much for the analysis, actually zoom the hand and look at it.
Would be nice if you could link the video, too.

EDIT: The analysis also only covers technical details, but each time i look at it, some more clues are sticking out (the left nostril!!!).
I can't really explain this through video frame interpolation either.

EDIT2: Sorry, i missed the link to the video.

Now, the "photo" is not even a frame of the video, it's also only a still shown in the same video. The arm-hand sign signals multiple individuals to group together. The "salute" seen in the first few frames of the video is fake, though. You can see the length of his (alien?) hand shrink by 50% when he's putting down the arm in the very beginning of the clip. Strangely, he is a lot more blurred than the environment, while video compression does this to "blocks" of image parts, varying in size and compression, not to whole persons. It's too complex for a data reduction algorithm.

The still is not from the same video, the lighting is perfect, and the resolution and sharpness is much higher, the source can't be a frame of a reel. Not to speak of all the details revealing typical AI errors (the nostril, man! i mean, c'mon!)  Shocked

There is a second "still" "photo" at the end. And again: Look at the hand. It looks like Frankenstein's hand after getting in the meat grinder. AI is still not capable of rendering hands in a natural way.

I am pretty much negatively impressed that no one of the people commenting on this tweet (at least the first few pages, top-down) were able to spot this.
However, they likely didn't inspect single frames, like i did.

Yeah his hand is way off to the right. Also his arms too high .

A nazi salute the hand and arm are lower and more in front of his body.

Still, it matters. And no, this was clearly no nazi salute. The hand to the head was fake, too. But all i had so far was the "photo", i only looked for AI/photoshop hints.
When i looked at the actual video, everything became clear.
Also, people don't look at things like i do, but it's a brain thing and not always good.

Addtionally, i added a bit more to my original comment.

Yeah his hand is way off to the right. Also his arms too high .

See photo of filter saluting .

As somebody who should know, it's 30-45° angled upwards, straight arm, flat, straight fingers and out to the front (along the shoulder line).
Just when you have your arm naturally hanging, risen up, hand turned 90° to the left (horizontally lined up fingers and thumb).

FYI the correct way to salute is documented and the ARM Always swings down.

Swinging the arm up is a fascists salute, there is literally no debate.

Anyone that's actually served in the American military knows this.

Drawing a conclusion that someone is a Nazi based on a picture in which they are waving is dishonest.

And if you *believe* your assertion then I would respectfully suggest you consider who you are being dishonest with.

And in fact that is closer to the position of a Nazi salute.

But all is a distraction of the last killing done of a veterans administration nurse.

Things are coming to a head here and we are likely to see far more killings in the next month.

Sad as the one thing trump actually has totally correct is crushing illegal immigration’.

And the leaders of sanctuary state are basically like the leaders of the south were about slavery.

Rebellion and civil war is actually happening and has been happening for years.

Basically think thinks idea NJ governor signs an executive order extending Italian Norwegian Americans a license to make crack and fentanyl in bulk .

Crazy wrong correct?
So why is an executive order to allow illegals unvetted to stay in NJ at the harm of legal people.

I truly blame every sanctuary state for having these laws and I truly blame Donald for not going right at the leadership for making the laws.

Back to btc.

Mining seems to be shutting down bigly as I type. a very large drop in hash rate which much be followed to see if it continues.

We are down over 15%. Which means my mining dca move is being helped bigly.

so this gesture is asking for silence so that he can speak... Cheesy

The soft fork is not happening and the hard fork means that they will have their own altcoin, it is not relevant to Bitcoin. Lukecoin..
Well, if UTXOS confirmations follow different parameters from the mainnet,
 then I don't know what it's called.
Any contentious hard fork and anything proposed by luke will always be an altcoin, it stands no chance at all.

Drawing a conclusion that someone is a Nazi based on a picture in which they are waving is dishonest.

And if you *believe* your assertion then I would respectfully suggest you consider who you are being dishonest with.

It is possible to make points of disagreement without resorting to cartoon level associations and wild interpretations of images.
It is a really bad way to approach these things in the long term. I imagine that normal people in Germany or Austria would be afraid to accidentally make this salute, but also public people. Just because some bad guys used some hand movement in the past I am now not allowed to use it without being a bad guy? Slowly but surely we will end up censoring many behaviors and speech this way..

I will make one other statement before completely withdrawing from this topic, not because it isn't interesting, but because I feel like it just ends in anger and division, which is another reason that I'm saying what I'm saying.

There are plenty things to complain about or to accuse people of without interpretations or making things up.

In the US, people are justifying the murders of others because of what they allegedly believe in or that they stood for things that others thought were despicable.  two recent examples were of Charlie Kirk and also the assassinated CEO of United Health Care, Brian Thompson.

It deeply burned inside of my soul that I saw nearly half of my country cheer for both of those deaths.

And it is my thought that hyperbolic rhetoric, like calling people Nazis, or commies, or horrible judgmental Christians or whatever is in a great part fueling the kinds of destructive forces that end up finding delight in the death and destruction of others and their property.

Again, there's plenty of things enough to disagree with that are factual without making assumptions.
