I guess he has to UP his level of showing himself to be unhinged and/or crazy to help to convince some middle-eastern folks to play ball with him, which may well not work out too well.. for either him or for people who he supposedly represents.
That is what "we" get when putting a convicted criminal psycho-narcissist in a position of relatively high power.
I can understand the European haters since they're having their status quo challenged but I don't get you Americans. What human being aspires to the highest office and thinks him/herself worthy of that? If you're honest about it, you wont need more than one hand to count the number of non-psycho narcissist presidents since the US declared independence. Also, as far as countries go, the USA is not unique in this; the pursuit of power is a super-magnet for this type of personality. We get what we deserve. Thank your lucky stars and stripes that your currently-serving narcissist truly believes in America coming first rather than chasing the global wet dream of saving the human race and being the poster boy for the WEF as our previous psycho-narcissist in Canada did - to our detriment I might add. At least your guy with the saviour complex is worried about saving your own country rather than the entire globe. Imagine having that big of an ego as so many European politicians do - the ones who tell you that national identity and borders are radical and even dangerous ideas that need to be corrected - so much so that their voices should ne cancelled. This is so they can lord over absolutely everyone. For some reason, I thought the response to the covid pandemic which bypassed all democratic standards everywhere and all at once would have been an eye-opener. Basic human rights are an inconvenience when your leaders say so. At least your psycho-narcissist is tethered to specific, achievable realities... now if only he could get some actual support from
all of the beneficiaries.
So you want to be the 51st state?
btw
The entire western hemisphere under one government makes some sense in a world like this.
I guess
rant I don't even believe it would happen but if it did, us citizens wouldn't have any say in it - just like the forcible lockdowns for the greater good.
One of the reasons I love the USA is because when the USA does well, we do too. At least we did in the not so distant past... We were like those little birds that hang out with Rhinoceroses, cleaning their teeth and calling out warnings when predators are near; it's not like we're total leeches. Then one day back in 2015, we brain-farted as a country and elected black-face Trudeau - 3 effing times in a row! First time he got a majority gov't, second time it was reduced to a minority gov't as ppl caught on and then he pulled a fast one only 2 years into his 4 year term and called another election thinking he could catch the other parties sleeping and ended up with another minority gov't - the socialist NDP supported him with their numbers for the last 2 terms which was long after his "best before" date. If not for them, we might have gotten ride of him much sooner.
He appointed WEF puppets to his cabinet and implemented his global agenda which is basically decarbonization even though our main export is oil - we're generally the 3rd or 4th largest producer of crude in the world - which stagnated our economy for over a decade. Before he was even elected he said things like "commitment needs to be a commitment to grow the economy
and the budget will balance itself" how could we have known he had no clue about running an economy? He also famously told the media that he admired China's basic dictatorship for its ability to turn their economy around on a dime.
He set very unrealistic immigration targets which caused our housing affordability crisis; in 2024 alone, we brought in 1 million new immigrants even as he already knew we had a housing crisis - he thought sheer numbers would somehow boost our GDP.
He doubled our national debt in 10 years while only growing the GDP by a total of 2% in that same timeframe. We have fallen so far behind the USA, it almost makes me cry every time I visit her. Don't get me started about his India cosplay tour with his entire family; that was just embarrassing - at least he held off on the black face that time.
He declared the Emergencies Act to shut down a legal protest in the Capital. The use of the Act for that purpose was unlawful and was declared so by the federal court and again by the federal appeals court.
He decided to make ownership of many "assault-style" weapons illegal, confiscated them and then thought it might be a good idea to ship them to Ukraine for their war effort... wtf? He also tried to tell us "
You can’t use a gun for self-protection in Canada. That’s not a right that you have in the Constitution or anywhere else..." but we do have the right to life and security of the person in our Constitution and can use reasonable and proportional force while doing so.
We had our own "dictator" but for some reason he didn't get near the negative press Trump does... maybe because our national broadcaster is so left of center it's appalling. Most of the time they are framing everything with a social-progressive lens. They actually had the nerve to take the Conservative Party of Canada to court over news clips that were used in advertising campaigns... (might have been this one -
and the budget will balance itself) of course they were deemed fair use and perfectly legal. Canadians pay ~$1.5 billion in annual taxpayer funding for this behemoth which is only 70% of their operating budget - they can also advertise to raise money.
The CBC has a profound influence on Canadians - their coverage of the residential schools in Canada was responsible for dozens of Catholic and Anglican churches being burned to the ground and then they said it was an "understandable" expression of grief and anger... as if that's not problematic in and of itself, the rest of the story, which didn't get nearly the same prominence, was that there were no mass, unmarked graves and no human remains of children found in the investigation as reported initially. Trudeau had our flags a half-mast for 6 months over that and he was pretty damn slow to condemn the church burnings. We then began scrutinizing our historical figures and entered into a renaming campaign for streets, venues and monuments. I think there were 7 statues of our first Prime Minister toppled in the protests. They also toppled and beheaded statues of Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. As if Canadians weren't already apologetic enough as a people.
The public school curriculum has changed drastically - history isn't taught the same way now. The most recent changes have the kids get 3 years of Black History from grade 7 and one year of Holocaust & Holodomor and one year of
Extreme Ideologies lessons somewhere around grade 10... which may explain why I get the side-eye from my youngest nearly every time I open my mouth. They no longer do the lord's prayer and that's fine; children aren't predominantly Christian in the public schools anymore anyway but they've replaced it with a sort of atonement or an act of reconciliation for the "stolen" land we live on. They even tell us to stand at the local hockey games for this land acknowledgement before the National Anthem. None of us were even around when this occurred and many Canadians especially more recent immigrants and their families had nothing to do with the original settlement or historical injustices, yet are still made to feel guilty - it's self-flagellating nonsense imo. (I can feel the side-eyes now) It doesn't make us stronger or more unified as a nation. Trump actually has unified us in some ways - well not me, I'm still buying American where permitted by law; I think the American booze is still not available at the gov't monopoly liquor stores - but whenever I'm out shopping, I hear people saying, for example, "Are those American strawberries?! I don't want to buy American strawberries!" Lots of Canadians rallying around their perceived hatred of Trump - and I say that because if you press them, they have some ridiculous answer like "He's a racist!" or "He hates women!" I'm sure the Canadian media played a huge part in the propaganda.
At least we have more licensed cannabis stores than Tim Hortons (donut shop) locations now so we can quickly numb the pain.
Anyway, there would be pros and cons about being the 51st state but it wouldn't be a problem until your Democrats got control of the house and senate again. Health care... that would be another rant for another day.
Now I'm too wired to sleep. I'm going to have to head to the all-night Weed shop for a night cap.

rant Sorry, eh?
