Is AI actually just [literal] formalized dollar shitcoin mining?

Centralizing capital to build and run GPUs is real; the ancillary effects aren't so measurable or observably beneficial.

Look at the participants, look at the incentives, etc...Cargo culting will never work with the real deal, of course.

Damn you, for making me go down this rabbit hole.
You know who you are.

Yes, I know she's missing a finger, but that's what you get for free...

The flying squirrel was not in the prompt, it came up with it by itself.

Marvelous.

Well, blew through about $80 in Claude credits just bringing up the bot. I suspect the x.com checking every 30 minutes might have something to do with it. Have disabled x.com checking until I figure out what’s going on, but I may have to put this project on hold until the new Mac studio M5 ultra is available and I can run LLM‘s on my own.

24gb 4090 isn’t cutting it for my needs.

What a disappointment so far.

I get a 10% veteran discount from apple

I have an m4 studio

I am waiting for the m5 myself

if you get one.

do not hold back on the ram 128gb at least.

My current tentative intention is to contact LFC through PM at some reasonable point after the bet deadline (Perhaps within the same day of April 1 to the extent that I don't have conflicts on that day) and ask him for a bitcoin address to send the payment. My preference would be to send him an on chain transaction as long as fees remain relatively low (or otherwise reasonable), yet I would entertain other ways of paying that wouldn't be too burdensome to me, such as lightning network.  Of course, the amount of BTC that he receives has to be at minimum the bet amount (which is 100k sats) so I (or we) would be paying any fees that would be associated with our sending the bet amount to him.

Regarding the outcome of the bet and the current BTC price dynamics situation, sure there is a bit of a pity that goes with our quite likely outcome of losing the bet and not getting another ATH after the time of our entering the bet and/or since the current ATH of $126,272 on October 6, and surely there are weird things going on in the macro-space and even weird things going on in relation to bitcoin, whether we are talking about various bitcoin paper products and/or various co-optation and control mechanisms that are going into place, which also contributes to disincentives for normies to want to get involved with bitcoin when there are seeming to be a lot of potential battles that seem to be related to bitcoin and also ongoingly contributing uncertainties in corn prices.

I take it with a grain of salt to consider the ongoing claims (of likely manipulators) that long term bitcoiners are selling a lot of their coins, even though surely there also can be some actual OGs who are selling som portions of their stash.  The definition of OG is not even very consistent, since maybe some of us would consider an OG to have somewhere in the ballpark of more than 10 years in bitcoin, yet there are some folks describing OGs as merely having more than 5 years in bitcoin - which don't really seem like OGs to me, so from my own perspective if there are guys with more than 5 years in bitcoin and less than 10 years in bitcoin selling large portions of their BTC, then I would consider those guys as either gamblers or weak hands rather than OGs... and sure some of them may well end up getting lucky with their having had sold bitcoin, to the extent that their intention might be to buy back the bitcoin they sold rather than either consuming up large portions of their proceeds or getting distracted into likely inferior investments (to the extent that they are investing rather than trading?).

Well, I'm at my wits end with openclaw, trying to get it to spider the last 10 pages or so of this thread for its infobase.

Wasted so much time last night and today so far trying to get it to recognize posts in this thread, and build a summary of each post.

I'm pretty sure the browser tool in openclaw is shitty RN, and my small context window of 32768 isn't really cutting it, so, just gunna go back to playing ARC Raiders, let openclaw mature more, and wait for the Mac M5 Ultras.

Such incredible bullshit; trying to spin up a passion project with these tools, only to have them utterly failing me.

Trying to locally parse x.com was an unreliable mess as well.

Not going to burn more credits with Claude on this (which seems to work at an unreasonable cost). I've learned enough about building a Bitcoin infobot to know that shit is just janky AF right now, unless you just want to throw money at API tokens... which I don't. Want this project running absolutely independently on my hardware.

On the one hand, what a time to be alive having these tools being available, but on the other hand, holy shit they are stinky ass trying to use 'em.

Keeping the bot account and will attempt to bring it up again in the near-distant future.

EDIT: Notes for the future - Explore the x.com API for post-reading use, and look into using the unofficial Bitcointalk API to pull posts (https://github.com/mprep-btc/Unofficial-Bitcointalk-API)
