I think Donald has no other option left but to settle for peace.

Its in interest of Donald, USA and the entire world.

The whole war was about keeping Iran from being able to build a nuclear weapon. While going to war in the name of peace is debatable whether or not it is idiotic, the goal of this war has always been peace. One does not settle for a goal, they celebrate it. Why some people need to think the US failed in order to celebrate peace is a mystery, but as long as we’re all celebrating peace in the end it is a win.

Can we expect same action from USA against Israel for acquiring nukes and carrying out genocide in Gaza for two years. Now same is repeated in Lebanon. US is also responsible for bringing peace in Palestine and Lebanon.

Thanks for the movie suggestions all.

Brazil -- I remember watching it as a young kid. I'll never forget the experience. Watched it a few more times later on.

Soylent Green -- worth watching too. Also deeply affected me, had nightmares about it.

Twin Peaks -- David Lynch's series + Fire Walk With Me, the movie prequel. Wow, what a masterpiece of a series!

The Shining -- Another horror masterpiece.

And the classics, The Twilight Zone, Fox Mystery Theater.

I think some of these were probably rated at least 13+, but I did watch them at a much younger age. Also remember watching lots of Dracula movies at that time (Christopher Lee was perfect as the Dracula). Again, rated way above my age. Parents didn't care much about age restrictions at that time I guess.

Just found this YouTube video which explains The Uncanny Valley Effect, with examples.

There are people who find quirky at the right side sexy. This is why I don't consider any horror movie with an attractive female villain true horror. While speaking about uncanny valley I read somewhere then that the Homo Neanderthal could have played a role specifically on how scare of human silhouette in the dark.

brazil was a special movie 🎥

soylent green was very good.

had a problem with the shining as it deviated from the book. book was better.

jaws was a great movie and a great book.

the use of the music with jaws to show the attacks were coming was really quite well done.

ah thinking about the book jaws i was reading it at work in the late seventies. I borrowed it from a guy at work. he wanted it back when he was going home. so i photo copied the last 105 pages of it to read on the subway home.  loved the book.

@cAPSLOCK - What breed is your dog that has a brindle pattern?

I am sorry I am not authorized by the regulation of DOGPPA to share my dog's PHI!  (it's actually a subset of PHI. It's PII, which is even more protected!)

well then, at least give our our inquisitive paperbotboy your mothers maiden name and 1st cars make and model for his troubles

Speaking of creepy AI imagery, and relating to my previous post, with the volley girl, there is a psychological phenomenon that explains why we feel so scared when we see an AI-generated human body/face with features that look too perfect, but are slightly off, or with wrong knuckle count or with an Adidas sole embedded on their feet.

It's called The Uncanny Valley Effect, and I have personally experienced it several times. It can occur in poorly lit areas, reflections, and is being used in movies to induce fear to the viewer. One such movie, which had a strong effect on me, is Smile (2022). That girl (pictured below), with that smile, gave me the creeps! Although I find her beautiful, her face, and her smile, have something creepy in them. I can't pin-point it, I guess it's subtle proportionality deviations between face, eyes, and mouth.

Gemini gave me this:

Quote
The Uncanny Valley Effect: Coined by Masahiro Mori, this theory posits that as objects (or faces) become more human-like, our emotional response becomes more positive—until they become almost perfectly human, at which point the response flips to revulsion. Subtle "off" features, such as over-filled lips or slightly asymmetric eyes, create this negative reaction.

I find it very fascinating that the human brain is OK when seeing an all-metal robot like Terminator, but reacts with intense fear when seeing that girl's face...

Vs.

Just found this YouTube video which explains The Uncanny Valley Effect, with examples.

YouTube -- What is the Uncanny Valley – How to Use It and How to Avoid It in Film

Interesting stuff...
I can relate to what your saying, but the catch for me is fact that, movies have help destroyed our pyschi when we see an AI version of a human being, movies create a dangerous person out of it, they make it look like a real humanity being but has powers to do extreme and dangerous things, so over the years, that has gradually built in into our pyschi, so persons seem to be uncomfortable when we see one. But it's different with all metal robot as your mind it's already prepared that this is a robot with specific abilities, so you tend to fearless because you already know what it can do.
