I'm ready for $40k
id rather we have a quick peek over 100k. just to see whats there. I was promised one million soon by prominent blockstream stablecoin influencer at Microsoft's Redmond campus That's how Microsoft always worked. Promises. And disappointments. On the other hand, "soon" is a pretty stretchy term. Beteigeuze will explode in a bright supernova, which will be visible at daylight, soon too. That is within the next 1000 years, in astronomical terms... I'm ready for $40k, seems it needs a good fakeout until the next dip. The volume seems like most trading volume is coming from ETF's (volume rising over the course of a week, until weekend, then it's almost gone).
What odds are you placing on anything in the $40ks? I would think less than 50%. 50%

What's strange about all of this is that so many people are choosing paper BTC over being their own bank. The only question is whether it's because they don't understand the phrase "not your keys, not your coins", or whether they simply don't care. However, in the end they found a way to manipulate the price (at least for now).
Why would that be strange? I would say that is expected. It is a combination of many reason such as the ones you listed. A big portion of the population does not really care about most or any of the big important issues in life, so why would they care if they have paper Bitcoin or real Bitcoin? I mean one of the main reasons why people get red pilled is because they care about some of these things. How often do you hear the topic of the fiat scam in conversations of the general population? I don't think that I heard it even once outside of Bitcoin circles.

At the same time, I recognize the possibility that we might have, here, [url-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WUyZXhLHMk]a "failure to communicate."[/url]
Well, that sounds a wee bit threatening since the "failure to communicate" line comes from a character who is a sadist. But...if you are taking this further, I am willing to bet 40:60 (40% from me, 60% from you) that we will not go lower than what was indicated in my original post ($59.56K), which would be a premium (in your favor) to the Polymarket chances of about 36:64.

I thought it is more like within 100K years, but it would be super cool if it happens in the next few (from our perspective). It might have already went out during medieval times as it would take 642-650 years for the light of such event to get here.

They simply don’t care. They think Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme , which wasn’t meant to be. Rather, a don’t get poor slowly technology. Paper Bitcoin, in the best case, gets you exposure to the least interesting feature of Bitcoin, price, while getting you trapped in the same old system for all the other features. The stark juxtaposition of this was clear when Iran wanted to use Bitcoin for oil tolls. Bullish in my opinion, while every paper bitcoin holder thought it was bearish.

John Carvalho doing John Carvalho things: criticising Paper Bitcoin and blaming overfinancialisation of the market. How Paper Bitcoin Ate the Bitcoin Bull Market New money enters at a premium. That premium subsidizes earlier participants and funds the structure's obligations. The structure requires continuous inflows to maintain the premium. When inflows slow, the premium collapses. Late entrants absorb the losses. Early entrants and insiders who sold near the top retain the value.
The disclosed facts: Strategy's mNAV went from 3.89x to ~1.09x.6 Its stock fell 80%.7 Its founder sold ~370,000 shares for ~$372.7 million near peak premium in early 2024, before the most aggressive dilution.9 Preferred holders collect escalating dividends funded by further issuance or, if necessary, bitcoin sales.414 Common shareholders who entered at high premiums hold a subordinated, diluted claim on bitcoin they could have bought directly.
This is not a claim of illegality. The disclosures warned about every risk described here.
It's always nice to see someone with exposure point out these type things we have been saying since the beginning in this here thread.

@cAPSLOCK - What breed is your dog that has a brindle pattern?
I am sorry I am not authorized by the regulation of DOGPPA to share my dog's PHI! (it's actually a subset of PHI. It's PII, which is even more protected!) well then, at least give our our inquisitive paperbotboy your mothers maiden name and 1st cars make and model for his troubles @vapourminer - Was that you I saw recently at Lake Shore Marketplace on Lakeshore Road in Gilford?
