Strain?

OUR ability to hurt one another is fairly amazing.
I would think there are thousands of torture devices invented to use on one another.
Quite amazing when you think about it.

We have to be good at something, though...  Wink

Iran successfully using Bitcoin to charge tolls in the Strait of Hormuz was the shot heard around the world and people just haven't figured it out completely yet.

I just use my geeky little bespoke tincture, but pictures like that make me want to use the old-fashioned method. My goodness.

No drugs for me except some alcohol.

I'm just back from a country (Madagascar) where it is quite cheap incidentally, but I didn't indulge much as I was with a woman who doesn't drink (deadbeat father is an alcoholic).

Electronic wallets linked to a SIM card are quite common there, I wonder what it would take to add bitcoin to these.

Weird how people are like this except don't stop stuffing their faces when their parents are morbidly obese.

I used to make alcoholic tinctures from the decarboxylized weed remains of my vaporizer, but i lost my father because of alcohol and my mother is at cirrhosis pugh-child score 2 already.
The more i watched this drama unfold and the more i had to care for my mother, the more i couln't stand the effects of alcohol. Today i'm drinking about three times a year, and as soon as the effects kick in noticeably, i stop. I used to drink for days when i was younger.
The herbs are more of medical use for me, but calling it strictly medical would be a lie   Grin
However, no harm experienced after decades of controlled use in almost every night at home, no withdrawal problems when on vacation etc. which used to be different when i was still smoking it with tobacco, which was over 15 years ago. Only sleep is less deep and falling asleep is hard without, but that's what you normally get when your thoughts are restless, my normal state of mind.
I feel like i mentioned this a couple of times in the past already  Huh

well food is the most complex addiction of all.

most addicts of must things simply stop doing the think.

except with food you have to eat.

With the diabetes problem with me.

all the meat I can eat no problem
all the dairy I can eat no problem.
all the fish I can eat no problem.

but really avoid carbs = really fucking hard to do.

ie no pasta no bread = torture for me.

You live in America right? Can you please take a picture of what you consider bread? One that you are actually eating.  Grin

That sounds like a good way to get your Bitcoin stolen, I would not want it to be linked to anything..

Thanks. That is still pretty good for over there as bread even if it is white. Sometimes there are things in America that are called bread but they are regulated as pastries or something like that in Europe because they are so full of sugar, it can be crazy. Carbs are mostly useless at least the kind that create addiction. It is hard to overeat in good carbs though.

Or maybe you cheated a bit with these?  Grin Grin https://calandrasbakery.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Rainbow-Cookies.webp

I'm lucky that I don't like pasta or bread, lived on steak and potatoes and salad most of my life and when I get offered desert I say I just had it. Smiley

I was bummed when the atkins diet came out because it made the price of everything I live on go up! Smiley

Depends a lot on how you eat them and how much you eat them. In many cases potatoes can be worse than bread. What is considered bread is a very wide spectrum ranging from extremely unhealthy to quite healthy.

Yeah, I don't begrudge anyone the enjoyment of alcohol, but there is no doubt it's one of the most dangerous substances mankind has tangled with. It's interesting that it's so intertwined with our culture though, all of our cultures really. I mean, Jesus' first miracle is said to have been making wine for a party that had run out. (there are a lot of other fun details about this story that people often miss, but another time.)

And I have known many people who have been able to enjoy it within the boundaries of some safety.

But at the same time, the older I get, the more I see that people my age have either put it down for the most part at least, or can't quite put it down anymore.

My own relationship with ethanol has been a bit rough at times.

I used to laugh at the claim that cannabinoids could be medicinal. I have completely been changed on that viewpoint by my own experimentation.
