Well 1 issue is do we end all addresses that are not
bc1q****
A legacy can be made today so its not stale.
Frankly leaving at least a few old blocks from 2009 to 2010 is a good way of knowing if legacies are cracking from hacking.
There are 1000's of 50 coin blocks.
It would be wrong not to leave some open to cracking by hacking just to show that they really are crackle.
So a total freeze is truly absolutely wrong.
First off how many 2009 to 2012 addresses are frozen Second off how many 2009 to 2012 addresses hold a block and are frozen
We all know 10,500,000 coins were mined then.
We all know some have been moved.
There should be a list of 4 groups
never moved but clearly not a block payout. Never moved but but clearly a block was paid in Moved and some remain Moved and empty.
Same for 2012 to 2017
So eight lists should be public and easy to see.
At least we know what we are fighting about.
And we certainly should not freeze all of them. As that leaves the cracking and hacking ability not known.

The thing with BIP-361 is, when we start freezing/seizing addresses and coins ... when will we stop? And who decides?
If it happens once, it will happen again, to a neighborhood near you. Remember Craig S. Wright?
Press the button and someone you don't know will die. And then someone else will press the same button, and they will not know you. Remember that?

Difficult choices and that's why we all need to decide were we stand and hash it out now years before it becomes imperative. A decade from now what will a coin be worth? Those coins going liquid will tank the value now, imagine when the value it upwards of a cool mil. The main issue I think is that when those coins were minted everyone thought they would be inaccessible forever. I'm of the opinion if Satoshi knew losing the keys was not in fact a gift forever then he would have black holed them himself.

Totally agree, the goal post keeps on changing, create a precedence and the oligarch decide whose coins are confiscated, country, government, court and the list will go on. ~ Difficult choices and that's why we all need to decide were we stand and hash it out now years before it becomes imperative.

Those coins going liquid will tank the value now, imagine when the value it upwards of a cool mil. It does not matter what the valuation will be at a given point of time, BTCitcoin is created to be an immutable asset and it should stay that way irrespective of what the economist think.

Business cycle printed three months in a row over 50, means the expansion cycle is coming. Bitcoin always follows. $126k was not the cycle top in fact it was the first peak of the multi year Bitcoin super cycle. $1 million BTC is just the baseline.

I respect all opinions and thoughts But I do like the big difference between you and OGnasty I’m leaning more towards this post … but still every outcome can happen I’m ok and just riding the waves as how they come. But let’s go PAASHAAS Btw a new poll would suit this argument @infofront, make a poll please OGnasty or PAASHAAS Would be nice to see who people following the most in a way of thinking for a near-mid term period. Maybe a 3th option not to agree with any of them.

I'm of the opinion if Satoshi knew losing the keys was not in fact a gift forever then he would have black holed them himself.
satoshi also left the 50 btc genesis reward unspendable when all it (seemingly) needed was like a few lines of code to specifically break out those 50. but he didnt. perhaps he meant to address the matter later but as we know.. maybe satoshi figured the same with early block rewards; deal with them later. so here we are.. later lol
