I am just rounding to the nearest. The decimals were as provided by Stamp. I have no explanation for any discrepancies with an actual spread.

I guess the old API was using floor() for Bid and ceil() for Ask, instead of round() for both, hence the artificial spread of $1. The way you do it is closer to the true values, at the expense of showing a spread of $0 when under $0.5.

That's what I thought. Making sure indicated spread is at least $1, which appears closer to reality than no spread at all ($0).
