R.i.P. TIM Curry

LETS DO THE TIME WARP
I saw the news about TIM Curry's death,  though am not too much of a fan of he's, but I know I've seen few of his actions. But then the death that actually touched me this period was the death of Dolly Parton, my father literally made us love her songs, because it was always on repeat, I could literally sing line by line in some of her songs when I was much younger, Dolly Parton songs and ABBA group.

has anyone heard from JJG?

or is he dark since the 17th of August?

Maybe the man went on vacation? I just hope he didn't choose Nepal, because a lot of foreign nationals lost their lives in that tragedy.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-08-27 (Late Morning Edition)

Published: 2026-08-27 09:04 AM CT

Thursday's session sees Bitcoin grinding higher, up 1.31% over 24 hours, with the 7-day trend firmly upward at +8.8%. The Fear & Greed Index at 71 (Greed) for seven straight days confirms the bullish mood, but the flat three-day action suggests the market is catching its breath after the recent surge. The dominant story today is the slowdown in US spot Bitcoin ETF inflows, which fell to $232.1 million on Wednesday, down 26% from Tuesday, yet still marking an eight-day streak of positive flows.

Outlook: Watch whether Bitcoin can break through the $80,000 resistance level, with Glassnode highlighting heavy overhead liquidity between $81,000 and $86,000. The upcoming Core Lightning security update could introduce short-term volatility for Lightning Network users, but the broader market focus remains on ETF flow momentum and whether the Greed sentiment can sustain the upward trend.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Bitcoin is at $79,464.00, up 1.31% over 24 hours and up 8.8% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads +17 on a -50 to +50 scale. Buyers are in control near term, but the tape is choppy rather than directional. Price is pressing into the upper half of the $75,000 to $84,000 range, and a daily close above $84,000 would signal a genuine breakout attempt. Until that happens, the path of least resistance remains sideways-to-up, with dips toward $75,000 likely to attract bids. A sustained break below $75,000 would flip control to sellers and open the door to $71,500. The Greed reading at 71 suggests sentiment is stretched, so a failure at resistance could produce a fast round-trip.

SCENARIOS

- Range Drift Above $75,000 (32%): Within five trading days, Bitcoin holds $75,000 on any daily close while repeatedly testing but failing to close above $84,000. The Greed reading at 71 and the +17 momentum composite suggest buyers defend dips but lack the conviction to clear resistance. Invalidation: a daily close below $75,000 within five trading days, which would shift the structure to the downside case.
- Breakout Through $84,000 (56%): A daily close above $84,000 within five trading days, ideally on rising volume and a Fear & Greed reading that stays above 70, would confirm the up-chop regime is resolving higher. That move would target $87,500 as the next measured objective. Invalidation: a daily close back below $84,000 within five trading days after an initial breakout, which would trap late longs and likely pull price back toward $75,000.
- Downside Re-test of $71,500 (12%): If Bitcoin loses $75,000 on a daily close within five trading days, the range floor gives way and the downside target becomes $71,500. This scenario would likely coincide with a sharp drop in the Fear & Greed index below 50, signaling that the Greed reading was a contrarian top signal. Invalidation: a daily close back above $75,000 within five trading days, which would negate the breakdown and restore the range.

KEY MARKET MOVERS

- Bernstein's $300K Price Target: The bullish long-term forecast from Bernstein reinforces the debasement trade narrative, which may attract macro investors seeking hedges against dollar weakness.

TOP STORIES

1. Bitcoin ETF Inflows Slow as XRP ETFs Hit January High
URL: https://cointelegraph.com/markets/bitcoin-etf-inflows-slow-232-million-btc-under-80k
Published: 2026-08-27 02:01 AM CT
Summary: US spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $232.1 million in net inflows on Wednesday, down about 26% from Tuesday's $314.4 million and the smallest daily total since Aug. 18. The eight-day streak has brought in about $2.8 billion, cutting year-to-date net outflows to roughly $2.03 billion. Bitcoin traded near $78,759 at publishing time, down 0.3% over 24 hours, after briefly climbing above $80,000 on Tuesday. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index rose to 71 from 65, staying in 'Greed' territory. US spot Ether ETFs saw an eighth straight day of inflows with $192.4 million, while XRP ETFs posted their biggest daily inflow since Jan. 5 at $28.1 million.

2. Core Lightning Confirms Vulnerabilities, Urges Node Upgrade
URL: https://cointelegraph.com/news/core-lightning-vulnerabilities-node-security-update
Published: 2026-08-27 03:05 AM CT
Summary: Core Lightning, an open-source implementation of Bitcoin's Lightning Network, confirmed multiple vulnerabilities and urged node operators to install a forthcoming security update. The project advised operators not to shut down their nodes completely, but to restart them with '--offline,' which prevents payments from entering, leaving, or routing through the node. Core Lightning clarified that upgrading is its primary recommendation, while restarting with --offline is an alternative for operators who have not upgraded. The project has not disclosed the nature or severity of the vulnerabilities, published CVE identifiers, or reported any related exploitation or losses. The newly confirmed flaws are separate from remote denial-of-service vulnerabilities disclosed in earlier releases, which were patched.

3. Bitcoin Price Gains Stall As Key Liquidity Strengthens Below $86,000
URL: https://cointelegraph.com/markets/bitcoin-faces-true-demand-test-above-83k-as-liquidity-thickens-glassnode
Published: 2026-08-27 05:34 AM CT
Summary: Bitcoin has struggled to flip $80,000 into support in recent days, and Glassnode's latest on-chain analysis shows heavy overhead liquidity between $81,000 and $86,000. Long-term holders, wallets holding BTC for at least six months, hold the first heavy supply structure at $83K-86K, and reaching $83,000 would test their resolve not to sell at breakeven. New ask liquidity has appeared on exchange order books in the same zone, and Glassnode notes that owners may not intend for their orders to be filled, instead aiming to stay above spot price. Multiple trend lines converge around $80,000, including the 50-week and 100-week exponential moving averages at $77,353 and $78,485, and the 365-day volume-weighted average price near $82,600. Trader and analyst Rekt Capital stressed that price needs to hold the 50-week EMA for longer before a meaningful trend change can be considered, with bear market timing expected to continue until the end of 2026.

4. Bernstein sees bitcoin hitting $300,000 by 2029
URL: https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/bernstein-sees-bitcoin-hitting-300-122848756.html
Published: 2026-08-27 08:28 AM CT
Summary: Bernstein forecast Wednesday that bitcoin could reach $300,000 per token by the end of 2029, citing a revival of the debasement trade as a hedge against a weakening U.S. dollar. Analyst Gautam Chhugani said the firm's price-to-marginal cost framework points to a market peak of $300,000 by 2029 and a recovery to a new all-time high of $150,000 by mid-2027. At bitcoin's last trading price of $78,045.70, the $300,000 target would represent a gain of roughly 285%. Bitcoin topped $80,000 on Monday for the first time since May and has risen 21% over the past month, following its strongest week in two years, during which it climbed roughly 23% from $62,836.88 to $77,226.96. Bernstein also said the rally could benefit Strategy Inc., the largest corporate holder of bitcoin, noting that Strategy holds close to 4% of all bitcoin in circulation and that its financial position has steadied, with annual dividend cash cover running at around 3.9 times.

I would be grateful (and I believe many others would too) if you removed this shittelegraph from your sources, considering that their texts are at the level of elementary school students (lower grades). Someone who holds coins for only 6 months cannot be called a long-term holder, that's complete nonsense.

Just waiting for us to break 81273.

Also, the Sparkle Fairy was overwhelmed learning that Dolly had passed.  But when she saw Hueristic's picture, she was overcome with joy knowing Dolly had got her wings.

The Sparkle Fairy is awfully sappy, really.

From "no numbers" to 5 significant figures is quite a stretch.

Give the fairy my regards. Glad she pulled through - more or less.

To an elementary school student (lower grades) 6 months is long-term.

Sparkle Fairy approving Hueristic's art is the bullish signal I was waiting for today. Cheesy

If emotional fairy lore can't send us past 81,273, nothing can. Brilliant follow-up!

LETS DO THE TIME WARP

Haha, I never knew that was him in the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Went to see it when I was 17.

My girlfriend loved it and finally talked me into going,

I was like what the hell you making all that toast for and she said, you'll see.

I never got that far into it, couldn't make it and had to leave.. Lol

IIRC As soon as he showed up dressed like that walking down the stairs I was like, nope, see you in the parking lot.

RHPS was definitely, and I guess is still definitely one of those things that either really resonates for some reason, or like you and I just doesn't connect at all.  I never understood the movie nor the weird social contagion that happened around it.

It's safely transgressive, pokes loving fun at horror/scifi tropes, has great music, produced several memorable quotes and had themes that resonated with a lot of people (not just the surface level stuff). The audience participation is a big factor and it also had a very danceable song when it hit the mainstream. It was not all that popular for a long time before it achieved its cult status.

Funnily enough, these days. it's the woke scolds that tend to clutch their pearls due to the rapey elements. No sense of humor.

Still, as the saying goes, "It's not easy having a good time..."

Bitcoin is so tiny, ONE company had added 30-40% of btc market cap after earnings.
Hopefully, bitcoin would not be so small in 2-3 years.
