so that cycle is set in stone until we tail end the lost 1/2 ing coins which many people hate me for talking about it but I see it as certain.

I think it might be instructive to graph the block reward in dollars (or Euro, whatever) over time.

Found one here:

https://bitcoinvisuals.com/chain-block-reward

The continual climb implies (though doesn't guarantee) to me that the 4-year cycle will continue to dominate for the time being.

(Note this should probably be adjusted for inflation but it's fine for a general impression)

Difficulty and gear efficiency are completely ignored by price graphing per block.

Also power cost which is related to value.

But certainly all those factors  need to be considered.

What gets interesting is what do miners do as power is shifting upwards.

Also if block value slowly increases peak was 399k

3.125x126= about 399k

We could run into 51.00% attacks

All works if we rise in coin price

As mining will grow and protect against 51% attack

The 4-year cycle is less about astrology and more about miner game theory in fiat terms.

As long as halvings squeeze supply faster than hash rate difficulty drops, the dollar reward keeps forcing price discovery.

yeah.

but I think the 4 year price cycle and the 4 year rewards cycle relationship as described by all of us is more like the:

5 blind men and the elephant story than anything else.

if one looks at 2009 price of 1 cent
and then 2017 price of 19,000

as compared to 2018 price of 4k
to 2026 price of 80k

190,000 to 1

kicks the ass of 20 to 1

so bigly it is not funny.

I know points can be cherry picked.

but the 2009 to 2017

as compared to the 2018 to 2026

is nuts

even if you pick the lowest price in 2017 say 900. and compare to the best price of 2025

you get about 126000/900=140

140 to 1

and the highest btc price in 2009 is 0.00099 to 0.002

so 900 in 2017 lowest
and .002 in 2009 highest

is

900/0.002=450,000

feb 2010

0.01 1 cent

picking that and comparing to 2017 low of 900

you get

900/0.01=90,000

so 90000 to 1 up tick first 8/9 years

and at best 140 uptick last 8/9 years.      and this is cherry picking the  the highest possible ratio

but the right price fixes all issues for at least 16-20 years to come

and bet boldly on the bold line.

BITCOIN IS SERIOUSLY LAGGING BEHIND STOCKS.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq have already pushed back toward record highs.

Bitcoin is still trading around $80,000 after a brutal correction.

This divergence won't last forever.

If Bitcoin starts playing catch-up, the move could be explosive.

the cool thing is that the times are different,

daily-candle

who knows maybe until tomorrow 82500... if the eclipse of the blood moon does not influence the price, I believe that this time it will not have anything to do with it, since we are on the full moon and the price is almost full... I think a full price would be between 91&100k... but 2026 will not be able to see this 100k event... if you see it will be a great sign that times are changing...

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-08-27 (Evening Edition)

Published: 2026-08-27 09:03 PM CT

Thursday's tape has Bitcoin reclaiming $80,000 after a clean break of the $79,000 resistance, up 2.05% on the day and 25.9% over the past month, with the Fear & Greed Index holding at 73 (Greed) for a seventh straight session. The dominant story is macro: Treasury Secretary Bessent's bond buyback gamble is undermining fixed-income credibility, and that narrative is pulling capital toward Bitcoin as an alternative safe haven. This is a grind higher on policy-driven flows, not a speculative blow-off.

Outlook: Watch the Jackson Hole symposium, where Fed Chair Warsh's remarks on digital payments could either reinforce or cool the risk-on bid. Also keep an eye on whether the Treasury's short-term bill issuance continues to pressure yields, as that dynamic has been the fuel for this rally. No clear catalyst for a reversal yet, but the 30-day average at $68,186 is far below spot, so any macro hiccup could trigger a sharp mean-reversion.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Bitcoin is at $80,522.00, up 2.05% over 24 hours and up 2.7% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads +6 on a -50 to +50 scale. Buyers are in control, and the tape reads as a momentum market that keeps shaking off dips. The push above $80,000 into the $83,500 resistance zone shows real demand, but the Fear & Greed reading of 73 tells us sentiment is stretched, so a stall near that ceiling would not be surprising. Holding $77,500 keeps the bullish structure intact, and a daily close below it would flip control back to sellers. The momentum and sentiment composite at +6 is modestly positive, which suggests this rally is not yet overextended on a derived basis, but it is also not a signal of fresh institutional accumulation. A break and hold above $83,500 would open the path toward $86,000, while a rejection there likely pulls price back into the $77,500 to $83,500 range.

SCENARIOS

- Consolidation Above $77,500 (37%): triggers: Bitcoin holds $77,500 on daily closes through Friday while the Fear & Greed index stays above 60, and volume dries up on pullbacks, showing sellers are not pressing. Invalidation: a daily close below $77,500 within five trading days, which would break the range floor and shift the setup to the downside case.
- Breakout Through $83,500 (52%): triggers: Bitcoin reclaims $83,500 on strong volume within five trading days, with the Fear & Greed index pushing past 75, and the move holds above that level for two consecutive daily closes, targeting $86,000. Invalidation: a daily close back below $83,500 after the initial reclaim, which would signal a failed breakout and likely pull price back toward $77,500.
- Downside Re-test of $75,000 (11%): triggers: Bitcoin loses $77,500 on a daily close within five trading days, with the Fear & Greed index dropping below 55, and selling accelerates through the prior range low, targeting $75,000. Invalidation: a daily close back above $77,500 within the same window, which would negate the breakdown and restore the range-bound outlook.

KEY MARKET MOVERS

- Treasury buyback policy: Bessent's doubling of bond buyback limits and shift to short-term issuance is lowering yields and undermining fixed-income credibility, a macro driver that is channeling capital into Bitcoin as an alternative safe haven.
- Jackson Hole symposium: Fed Chair Warsh's upcoming keynote on digital payments is a scheduled catalyst that could either validate or challenge the current risk-on sentiment, with his past pro-Bitcoin stance adding to the anticipation.

TOP STORIES

1. Bessent's Bond Buyback Gamble Could Pour Fuel on Bitcoin's Price
URL: https://news.bitcoin.com/finance/bessents-bond-buyback-gamble-could-pour-fuel-on-bitcoin-price
Published: 2026-08-27
Summary: Bitcoin reclaimed $80,000 on Thursday after breaking through a key $79,000 resistance level, with its market capitalization returning to $1.61 trillion. The price rebound came amid reports that the U.S. Treasury is set to auction $92 billion in three-month bills on Aug. 31. The volatility wiped out $416 million in crypto liquidations over 24 hours, with short positions accounting for roughly $80 million of the bitcoin losses. The Economist warned that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's policy of doubling bond buyback limits and tilting issuance toward short-term bills undermines the credibility of the U.S. financial system. Ray Dalio argued that these moves lower the inflation-adjusted return on fixed income, potentially driving capital into alternative safe havens like gold and bitcoin.

2. Bitcoin Again Flirts With $81,000 Ahead of Fed's Jackson Hole Meeting
URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/bitcoin-rises-ahead-of-fed-meeting
Published: 2026-08-27
Summary: Bitcoin closed in on $81,000 on Thursday, reaching as high as $80,793 in New York before pulling back to around $80,236. The price is up more than 2% over the past day and 10% over the past week. The rally comes ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's keynote at the Jackson Hole symposium, where he is expected to discuss digital payments, including crypto. The Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index rose to 71, indicating 'Greed.' Warsh has made pro-Bitcoin statements in the past but has been reluctant to lower interest rates, while President Trump has pushed for lower borrowing costs. Bitcoin's recent gains also follow positive regulatory news, including Trump's endorsement of the crypto Clarity Act and the Treasury's announcement to double long-dated bond buybacks, which lowered yields and supported risk-on sentiment.

and therein lies the reason 4 year price cycle  and 4 year supply cycle will decouple.

simply if you are correct and that 2x price every 4 years has to stop due to the sheer size of the cap

btc  will have to decouple price from supply or add tail end via confiscation of lost coins mined in the first 4 year (1 to 3 million of those 10.5 million)

current cap is 1.61 trillion max was about 2.5trill

so

now.        1.61
 2028.      3.22
2032        6.44
2036      12.88
2044      25.56
2048      51.12      about 2,560,00  a coin
2052    102.24
2056    204.48              10 million a coin       I don't see it happening but fuck 1 would be 99 years old so who cares anymore.
