There's a catch: the transaction is computationally expensive to assemble.
And one more: the clients are not able to propagate it, so the transaction can't wait in the mempool. It must be handed straight to a suitable miner - one that understands and agrees.

Sharknet say that even with the private key and an adequate (quantum) computer, an attacker couldn't make a fraudulent transaction. I wonder what makes the legit owner different from an attacker in this context. An ELI5 would be appreciated.

I think we are headed down in the short term, but I wouldn’t describe myself as bearish. I was bearish and saying to sell at $117K. I’ve been back participating in this thread with a more bullish attitude (or trying as we change from bear to bull market) since the price was around $63K I believe.  

Trying to time the exact top or bottom is difficult. Just buy in 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026; and sell in 2013, 2017, 2021, 2025, 2029… It doesn’t really need to get more complicated than that. As you can see, we are in a buy year. So am I a bear? I don’t think so. I’m buying, not selling.
