Ok..here are my macro comments...

First off, there are some influencers who suggest that economic growth would soon become at least 10-15% in US and potentially even higher.
Additionally, they also suggest that the current setup suggests up to 8% interest rates which AI companies would be able to pay, but apart from them and hyperscalers, no one company would be able to.
Third, they suggest that leading AI companies would essentially produce more workers (in AI form) that there are currently people on Earth, concentrating essentially all economic activities in maybe 5-10 companies. This suggest incredible centralization of the economic power. Here are the Patel brothers talk that made rounds in the media recently:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV26V1UvkJw

Dario Amodei went as far, allegedly, as to suggest that there would be only Anthropic and the governments, albeit he later disavowed this view, also allegedly.

Others suggest (Emad Mostaque on the Peter McCormick show) that within 2 years 50% of the workforce activity could be replicated:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOIJ8m2rSC4

It seems that bitcoin is the only parameter that might help people in retaining any modicum of an economic independence as both stock an bond markets might decline.
SP500 might be OK, but investment in individual non-AI companies might not be advisable...if fact, i am thinking of cutting my own investments in unrelated sectors; sectors that move too slowly.
See here, for example (Pomp and J. Visser):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjJxrTal_Sk

I am happy to hold bitcoin, small amount of alts and SP500, but would be changing other investments soonish.
Pensions are probably screwed if they don't have cost of living adjustment (COLA). Most educational pensions do not and at a 8% inflation, the pension value drops in half after 9 years.
Social security (which has COLA) in US is under a threat of a 20% cut in 6-7 years...would it happen, I don't know, so i decided not to worry about it.

Holding bitcoin might be the best financial decision going forward...really.
Not an investment advice.

Linux and others received exemption from age-verification laws. A small but important victory.

California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law — software distributed under the GPL, MIT, BSD, and Apache licenses are exempt

PSA:

"On Monday 24th August at 8PM EST, we received at letter from X Corp. asking to cease and desist the service XCancel.
The service XCancel is stopped until further notice.
We are seeking legal advice and won't share more details for now.
Thank you for the trust you have put in these two years of XCancel.".

As of now, twstalker.com seems to be working fine.

I don't like to give out all my secret hiding places lest they become popular enough to also receive cease and desist letters but twitterwebviewer.com is pretty great as well.  I really liked Xcancel for the dark easy-on-the-eyes theme - I will miss it.

 ffs!

Elon Musk are you lurking here?!  Yeah I get it but how much of a problem could it have been for a few people to browse Twitter incognito?  Enjoy your walled garden - I'm still not logging in so you'll get no ad revenue from me.

From twitterwebviewer.com:

"Service discontinued
As of August 28, 2026, this website has been permanently discontinued, following a request from X Corp. All cached content has been deleted.

Subscribers: your subscription has been cancelled and refunded — please check your email for details.

Thank you to everyone who used and supported the site.
"

I guess he only said he was a free speech absolutist.
He never said he was a free view absolutist.

Things are still working fine over here.
Maybe just a question of time.
I`ll update if/when necessary.

I immediately swapped all the URLs in my X bookmarks for the one you had mentioned once I posted my rant last night since I noticed it was still working.  I appreciate your sharing that one!

Glad I could help.

Let`s see how long it will last.

Where`s decentralization when you need it?

Divide and conquer.

Exemption keeps the open-source devs quiet while the rest of the web gets funneled into digital ID verification.

Small win for code, but the bigger surveillance push is still moving right on schedule. Classic move.
