So there is a closure vote in the Senate on The Clarity Act this Tuesday. It requires 60 votes to proceed and by all accounts it looks like Republicans don’t have the votes. It is likely dead which means we won’t get any bill like this done until at least the end of the decade according to Cynthia Lummis (R).

I have been thinking for a while that this failure could be the only thing left that could likely send us to a new low and mark the bottom of the bear market. Would this bill dying be enough to take us down significantly? I don’t know but I’ve been thinking the bottom is in for a while but if not what is left to take us lower apart from something really unlikely happening like Coinbase getting hacked and drained (which won’t happen).

We will go lower than we currently are when this bill fails to get the required votes to get it to the President’s desk but how much lower is the question.

I think the issue is:

Republican = Pro BTC therefore Democrats = Neg BTC

is the issue.  This is a bad dynamic for the coin.

...and an even worse dynamic for the government of the most powerful nation on earth.  How do you treat basic legislation for an innovative financial tool as a team sport!?  Let's shoot ourselves in the foot to save face.

Hey my hands are tied.

Trump or Biden two old men that do not give a fuck.

I have come to the conclusion that Republicans vs Democrats is much like pro wrestling

Say John Cena vs Gunther

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/john-cena-last-match-result-wwe-legend-ends-career-with-loss/ar-AA1SiIsi

the show is designed to take your money. winner or loser does not matter.

My fully owned and paid for home.

1992 property tax was 2300
2022 property tax was 7200
2026 property tax is 10,900

never mind I paid taxes on it from 1992 to 2026. around 34 x 6000=204,000

If I stop paying they send a dozen cops and steal the home. And call me the bad guy.

Oh he is a crazy Veteran.

Oh that 10,900 will be 10,900x1.15=12,535  for 2027 I will be 70 if I live to 90

I will pay at least 20 x 15,000=300,000  MORE IN TAX ON THE HOUSE.

And voting for trump or Biden or Vance or  Harris or whomever won't change the fact that I purchased a house for 147k in 1992 and by 2046 I will have paid over 500k in property tax on it.

Two wings on the same bird...

Have you been refinancing and causing your property taxes to be reevaluated?  The main reason I still own the same house I built years before Bitcoin was created is that the property taxes are still only around $1,700 a year and I wouldn't be able to find that in another property anywhere.  Almost makes real estate seem like a decent investment as long as you ignore opportunity cost and inflation.

nope got a mortgage in 1992 paid it off in 1999 broke my ass to pay it.

New Jersey is a terrible state for property taxes. no more complex that that.

This legend predicted the bitcoin price of today as 93K USD when the current price was 25 USD.

Nice!

Here's another funny 2026 prediction (remember Trolololo?):

Your work is really great. This trendline seems realistic.

Could you provide a date for the one million dollar price ? Or extend your chart a little bit ?

Local tax assessors always find a way to pump valuations during fiat inflation cycles without needing a refinance trigger.

Real estate turns everyone into a state tenant eventually.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-09-14 (Evening Edition)

Published: 2026-09-14 09:04 PM CT

Bitcoin is grinding higher, posting a 1.11% gain over the last 24 hours while sentiment remains firmly in Greed territory. The market is absorbing selling pressure rather than capitulating, as evidenced by the Fear & Greed Index holding at 69 for the seventh consecutive day. This steady accumulation contrasts with the recent security scare at Swiss Bitcoin Pay, which shut down servers after a data breach exposed customer details.

Outlook: Traders should monitor whether the recent ETF outflows reverse, as spot demand swung sharply from inflows to outflows in the past week. The market's ability to maintain its position above the 30-day moving average will be the key structural test for the coming days.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Bitcoin is at $77,927.00, up 1.11% over 24 hours and down 0.7% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads -3 on a -50 to +50 scale, which runs against the week's move: the composite blends price change, sentiment and spot premium, so it can tilt one way while realised price runs the other, and it does not override what the price did. Buyers currently hold the upper hand, as the price sits comfortably above the $76,500 support while testing the ceiling of the recent range. The tension between the slight weekly dip and the positive 30-day trend suggests a market digesting gains rather than reversing them. A decisive break above $79,500 would signal that buyers have absorbed the recent supply, potentially opening the path to $80,500. Conversely, a failure to hold $76,500 would indicate that the current sentiment is fragile and could invite a retest of $75,500.

SCENARIOS

- Range-Bound Consolidation Above $76,500 (52%): triggers: Price remains between $76,500 and $79,500 through Friday. Invalidation: A daily close below $76,500 or above $79,500 through Friday.
- Breakout Toward $80,500 (32%): triggers: A daily close above $79,500 through Friday. Invalidation: Price fails to sustain levels above $79,500 through Friday.
- Support Failure Toward $75,500 (16%): triggers: A daily close below $76,500 through Friday. Invalidation: Price recovers and closes above $76,500 through Friday.

KEY MARKET MOVERS

- Mining Sector Divergence: BitFuFu and CleanSpark reported increased August production, while Canaan declined for a third consecutive month and liquidated its entire ETH position.
- Corporate Treasury Accumulation: Strive Holdings reached 25,000 BTC, reinforcing the trend of public companies adding to their Bitcoin reserves despite mixed market conditions.

TOP STORIES

1. Swiss Bitcoin Pay Shuts Down Servers After Data Breach
URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/swiss-bitcoin-pay-data-breach
Published: 2026-09-14
Summary: Swiss Bitcoin Pay temporarily shut down its servers on Monday following a data breach that exposed customer email addresses, Bitcoin addresses, IBANs, transaction histories, and hashed passwords. The Neuchtel-based non-custodial payment processor stated that user funds remain safe and any amounts owed will be fully returned. A malicious actor likely gained access to the company's internal systems, prompting the precautionary shutdown while the firm investigates and secures its infrastructure. This incident follows recent security lapses at other financial and crypto firms, including Revolut and Trezor, which faced breaches involving customer identity documents and phishing attacks. Swiss Bitcoin Pay facilitates business payments via on-chain transactions and the Lightning Network.

2. Strive Holdings Reach 25,000 BTC
URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/strive-buys-more-bitcoin
Published: 2026-09-14 11:33 AM CT
Summary: Strive increased its bitcoin holdings to 25,000 BTC, valued at nearly $2 billion, after purchasing 469 bitcoins at an average price of approximately $77,954. The company remains the fifth largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury, trailing Strategy, Twenty One, Metaplanet, and MARA. CEO Matt Cole stated that 100% of the capital raised for this purchase came from sales of SATA, the company's perpetual preferred stock. Strive maintains a debt-free balance sheet with no bonds, credit lines, or leveraged positions, distinguishing it from competitors like Strategy that utilize leverage. The Nasdaq-listed firm, founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, saw its stock (ASST) rise more than 6% following the announcement.

3. BitFuFu and CleanSpark rebound in August mining production while Canaan declines
URL: https://www.theblock.co/news/markets/2026-09-14-bitcoin-production-rebounds-august-bitfufu-edges-higher-cleanspark-canaan-slips-414660
Published: 2026-09-14
Summary: BitFuFu produced 174 BTC in August, a 55% increase from July, driven by a 45% jump in managed hashrate to 20.6 EH/s. CleanSpark's output rose slightly to 593 BTC, bringing its year-to-date total to 4,903 BTC, though its holdings fell to 13,703 BTC after sales and trades. Canaan mined 44 BTC, marking a third consecutive monthly decline, and sold its entire 3,952 ETH position along with 54 BTC for approximately $13.9 million. Canaan used $5.4 million of the proceeds to repurchase 13.6 million shares, leaving it with 1,868 BTC and no ETH. Share performance was mixed, with Canaan rising 2.4% but remaining down over 55% year-to-date, while CleanSpark fell 2.3% but remains up nearly 16% year-to-date.

4. Bitcoin Market Pulse: Selling Pressure Absorbed as Price Holds Range
URL: https://research.glassnode.com/btc-market-pulse-week-38-2026
Published: 2026-09-14 10:59 AM CT
Summary: Bitcoin trades near $76,800, down 4.4% on the week, while holding a range between $76,600 and $80,400. Spot CVD dropped to -$142.7M and perpetual CVD fell to -$605.9M, indicating aggressive net selling on centralized exchanges. US spot ETF demand reversed sharply, swinging from $753.2M in weekly inflows to $467.5M in outflows. Futures open interest slipped to $36.4B but remains elevated above its high band, showing that leverage is not yet unwinding. On-chain capital flows remain constructive with monthly realized cap change rising to 1.0%, suggesting the market is absorbing selling pressure rather than breaking down.

5. Privacy Coins Outrun Bitcoin as Market Rotates Into Zcash and Monero
URL: https://news.bitcoin.com/market-updates/privacy-coins-outrun-bitcoin-as-market-rotates-into-zcash-and-monero
Published: 2026-09-14 07:05 PM CT
Summary: Privacy coins have significantly outperformed Bitcoin, with the sector gaining 213% since Bitcoin's October 2025 peak above $126,000. Zcash now accounts for approximately 62% of the privacy sector's value, driven by a 25-fold price increase over the past year and the launch of the Grayscale Zcash ETF. Institutional access expanded when Grayscale converted its trust into an exchange-traded product, with Digital Currency Group contributing roughly $100 million in ZEC to the fund. Monero maintains elevated network activity despite major exchange delistings, as TRM Labs data shows transaction volumes remain well above 2020 and 2021 levels. Regulatory pressure persists, with EU anti-money-laundering rules set to prohibit accounts allowing transaction anonymization for crypto-asset service providers starting July 10, 2027.

I was going to say, same here but then I realized you paid yours off much more quickly.  We have an "independent", arms-length government-funded corporation that assesses property values every four years.  Doesn't matter whether you have improved your home or not, as the market value increases, so does your valuation for property tax purposes.  It sucks ass.  We certainly don't get any more services and the ones we do have get slashed regularly.  My favourite is when they don't plow for a couple of days after a snowstorm and our road goes from slush to solid ice with deep tire ruts... and then when they finally plow, you have to shovel huge chunks of ice from the end of your driveway.  I don't even want to get started about the state of our roadways... I remember thinking driving in PA was bad but now I think I would prefer that again.

My last governor left in Jan 2026.  But he signed a bill in 2022 it allows yearly reassesments.

And by law you can not appeal an assessment that is off by 15% or less.

So 2022 up 1k or so
 2023 up 1.1k or so
2024 up 1.2k or so
2025 up 1.3k or so
2026 up 1.4k or so.

My senior deduction gets cut from 6500 to 4000.

So even with decent pay raises the property taxes alone are brutal.  As a senior. Making 100k sounds decent it isn't.

I ESTIMATE I NEED ABOUT 160K yearly TO STAY EVEN AND AT PRE COVID LEVELS OF WEALTH. I am short that.

I am back sliding due to living where I live. Not poor just not as well off.

I am sorry, but this is low quality material.

First off, how this is relevant to the topic..is this a crypto-channel rn?

Second, zec market cap is about 20bil vs btc 1.6 tril.
You cannot rotate one into another, lol

Yes, some wall street players seem to see the future in that coin, but so far...practically no users.
I am skeptical.

I think the Clarity Act has less influence on Bitcoin's price than people want to believe.  I even think there's a case to be made that the Clarity Act is bad for Bitcoin, but what do I know...  I think it is a lose-lose situation.  If it passes, it is a sell the news event and if it fails it is a catastrophic slap to the face of crypto and likely will cause widespread selling.  So $50K or $70K is probably better targets for if it passes or not.

One thing that actually does matter to Bitcoin and has potential to send the price skyrocketing upward is the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, which may be taking another step forward this week as it gets a committee markup from the Financial Services Committee on Wednesday morning.  Bitcoiners are watching the wrong regulatory development right now for some reason...  Ethereum and Solana are the big winners in the Clarity Act...
