OT: In my latest financial investigations I found out (it was new to me) that if you give the insurance company your $$ (non-retirement $$ that is) to get an immediate annuity, you then would be paying taxes only on a portion (anywhere between 20 and 35%, calculated based on some obscure tables) of your yearly income that is coming from the said annuity.

A pretty neat trick, if you ask me (it is called an "exclusion ratio").

If and when, I might get to, say, 70, I would probably dedicate some money to this as to not follow the stupefying markets all the time.
I can barely keep up now.

EDIT back on topic...in US, after 2029 , you might have to 'declare' your bitcoin.

Both: it's the wet dream of our minority cabinet, supported by a leftwing party. So it looks like they'll get a majority on this.

I see so many people online who want to leave the country because of this. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the straw that broke the camel's back, leading to a reduced tax income for the Dutch government.

You have to be an incredibly ignorant person (enter E Warren) to think an unrealized tax on investment could work. Where does that line of thinking end? You either chase away all investment in your country or you counterbalance it with being able to claim unrealized losses. I can only imagine the amount of resources that would be wasted chasing all these valuations. People need to stop thinking the answer to their problems is targeting rich people with taxes. Individuals are far more efficient spenders and investors of those funds than the government. Successful people aren’t the enemy.

STRC ended the day almost at par. It appears that Saylor’s digital credit idea is catching on. This likely means a lot of buying in the near future if Strategy can get back to issuing more STRC at $100/share. I’m surprised that Strategy shares bounced so hard knowing they were going to be diluted so much more to bring STRC to par. Smells like some entity with a lot of money decided to scoop up a lot of Strategy shares knowing it would stop their BTC selling and fund a STRC revival to make a bottom happen. I wonder who the big Strategy buyer was at the bottom.

The constitution doesn't allow a court to assess if a law violates that same constitution.
In my opinion that makes the constitution utterly useless.
