Hey WO, i want to put an end to my ledger nanos, but deciding on a follow up hw wallet overwhelms me, honestly. Since months i tried to research, compare... and all i finally got is a split between Jade (Core) and Trezor5. I only need secure BTC key storage, i also have one Ether, but this shitcoin can stay on the nano, while the other Nano becomes a keychain. So i thought i let you choose for me. I'm taking a look again at the WO in about 24h, please post your preference. Sorry, for the E-word EDIT: It's a T5, not a T3. I vote for Trezor. I've had two over the years (the Model One, back in 2016, and now the Trezor Safe 3). Both are excellent (the Model One is now discontinued). I went for the Safe 3 due to its simplicity. I don't use it often, it's just a cold storage device for me. If you will be using it often, getting the better models makes sense. I wouldn't go near a Ledger, or any closed-source or experimental versions of anything. And I certainly wouldn't build my own h/w wallet for the purpose of storing my coins in there, although I can do it. same here. i can only recommend what i use and i have trezor ones and a trezor 3. im comfortable with them. the three was bought a couple years ago i think.

Yes please…… @BitQuaIn a year, I’ll be able to provide undeniable proof that $126K was a mid-cycle top, not the cycle top. But by then, that information will have no added value. https://x.com/bitqua/status/2109241554229473567

With the time everyone agrees whether it was mid cycle top or the actual cycle top, market will have already moved on to next existential crisis. Classic chart gymnastics.

I'm trying to understand what's in the mind of a man who calls Putler, wishes him a happy birthday, literally gets down on his knees and begs for diesel - and this criminal in two days kills more than 50 civilians in Ukraine with slide bombs... Actually, I know the answer and the real question is how low can someone in such a high position go to preserve their political and business position?

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-10-11 (Late Morning Edition)
Published: 2026-10-11 09:04 AM CT
Bitcoin is grinding sideways this Sunday, up just 0.28% over 24 hours after a rough week that saw it drop 4.0% over seven days. The Fear & Greed Index sits at 61 in Greed, but the 9-point slide over the past week suggests conviction is fading. Coldcard's phishing scare is dominating the feeds, a security story that keeps hardware wallet users nervous.
Outlook: Watch whether Coldcard's investigation into possible platform-level access on X uncovers more stolen credentials, and whether additional losses surface beyond the July firmware defect. The Treasury's withdrawal of its unhosted-wallet rule removes a self-custody reporting threat, so keep an eye on whether other regulatory pressures ease into the weekend.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Bitcoin is at $82,992.00, up 0.28% over 24 hours and down 4.0% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads -9 on a -50 to +50 scale. Sellers still hold the upper hand, but their grip loosened a little as price steadied above $80,000. The bounce off support has kept Bitcoin within reach of the $86,000 resistance, yet buyers have not forced a break through it. A daily close above $86,000 would confirm buyers have regained control and open the path toward $89,000. Losing $80,000 would flip the tape back to sellers and put the $77,000 downside target in play. Until one of those breaks, the market looks content to drift between the levels while sentiment holds in Greed.
SCENARIOS
- Grinding Range Between $80,000 and $86,000 (37%): Bitcoin holds above $80,000 through Friday, chopping between support and resistance while the Fear & Greed Index stays near its current 61 reading. A daily close back below $80,000 within five trading days invalidates this range idea and shifts attention to the lower level. - Push Through $86,000 Toward $89,000 (29%): Buyers drive a daily close above $86,000 within five trading days, confirming demand is strong enough to challenge the upside target. Failure to close above $86,000 by Friday, or a drop back beneath $80,000, invalidates the breakout attempt. - Downside Break Below $80,000 (34%): Sellers force a daily close under $80,000 within five trading days, reversing the bounce and putting the $77,000 downside target in play. A quick reclaim of $80,000 before Friday, or a close above $86,000, invalidates the breakdown.
KEY MARKET MOVERS
Treasury rule withdrawal: The proposed unhosted-wallet rule was pulled, removing a threat of additional reporting requirements around self-custodied bitcoin transfers. SEC leveraged funds approval: The SEC approved leveraged crypto funds, permitting Cboe to list 3x bitcoin products targeting three times a daily futures benchmark's return. Glassnode liquidation cluster: $90,000 stands as the largest liquidation cluster, giving bulls a psychological breakout level.
TOP STORIES
1. Coldcard X Account Hit by Phishing Scam After $100M Fiasco URL: https://news.bitcoin.com/security/coldcard-x-account-hit-by-phishing-scam-after-100m-fiasco Published: 2026-10-11 08:30 AM CT Summary: Coldcard's official X account published a phishing link early Oct. 11, falsely warning customers about a critical seed-generation vulnerability and directing them to a fake website. The company deleted the post and said its credentials and offline two-factor authentication remain intact, though it found no corresponding login or session record. Coldcard asked X Support to investigate possible platform-level access after reports of administrative credentials being sold on darknet markets. No confirmed losses are tied to the phishing attempt, which followed July's firmware defect that let attackers reconstruct wallet seeds and steal an estimated 1,600 to 1,800 bitcoin, worth roughly $100 million to $130 million. Critics also blasted a recent post promoting transparent cases after Ledger devices were reportedly tampered with, and some accused co-founder Rodolfo Novak of blocking victims on X.
2. A 1960 Population Model Pegged Nov. 13, 2026 as 'Doomsday' URL: https://news.bitcoin.com/featured/a-1960-population-model-pegged-nov-13-2026-as-doomsday-49201 Published: 2026-10-11 05:30 AM CT Summary: Heinz von Foerster and his students published a population model in Science in 1960 that projected humanity would reach infinity on Nov. 13, 2026. The model used a hyperbolic curve fitted to roughly 2,000 years of population estimates, and the math blew up at a singularity on that date. The world now holds about 8.3 billion people in 2025, far from infinite, and the United Nations projects population will peak near 10 billion in the 2080s before flattening. The old equation treated human societies as a single system with stable rules and missed contraception, education, urbanization, and women's workforce participation changing family size decisions. Von Foerster's date endures as a reminder that models ignoring behavior and incentives can sound precise while steering people wrong, a lesson for today's AI boom.
3. Strangely Rational URL: https://news.bitcoin.com/opinion-and-analysis/strangely-rational-week-in-review Published: 2026-10-11 08:00 AM CT Summary: Bitcoin is showing signs of fatigue after a multi-month climb from $60,000 to nearly $88,000, settling around $80,800 after its biggest weekly drop since June. Jeff Dorman argued crypto is becoming an actual capital market, with investors rotating between themes based on data, calling the behavior strangely rational. Glassnode highlighted $90,000 as the largest liquidation cluster, giving bulls a psychological breakout level. Treasury withdrew its proposed unhosted-wallet rule, removing a threat of additional reporting requirements around self-custodied bitcoin transfers. The SEC approved leveraged crypto funds, permitting Cboe to list 3x bitcoin and some shitcoin products targeting three times a daily futures benchmark's return. Seed must be 'cared' properly otherwise loss is irreversible. yeah. I pulled a lot of bushes surround a big pine tree.🌲 I then raked all pine needles and cones. I then added 1000 pounds of top soil. I then added lime. Let that sit 10 days. Dropped the seed yesterday. Then put a blend of top soil and peat moss over the grass seed. The hope is that protects the seed. I will know in about ten days.

The immediate need to reduce energy costs for the American people? (in a way, it also decreases available energy for the Russian military so there's that angle which makes the image you included even more apropos) I find it strange that the Europeans who have failed to protect their own internal borders from a global irregular migrant invasion talk about the Ukraine borders as if they are fixed and non-negotiable. This is a glaring double standard which I suppose is masked only by their hatred for Putin. Sure, it's easy for me to sit on the other side of Atlantic and criticize but if the US were the only one asking for Russian energy, that would be one thing; Europe is still sucking it up in record amounts - the numbers don't lie. Maybe there is a triple standard in play? Ideologies are great but generally superseded by realities - you can't outwardly say, "FUCK YOU PUTIN!" and then write checks to him for the energy you desperately need. (Yeah, you can but it's not a great look) We've probably reached "peak" easy answers to our current problems and we're at the point where every single solution is going be painful. The Eurocrats are likely working on some wordy, suffocating legislation to fix everything and we should expect to see that in 2032. Maybe they'll present it to Putin as an 80th birthday surprise.

The Eurocrats are likely working on some wordy, suffocating legislation to fix everything and we should expect to see that in 2032. Maybe they'll present it to Putin as an 80th birthday surprise. It's no secret that Trumpy doesn't want to stay without the votes of farmers in some federal states where his party is in the majority, and who have been suffering because of fuel prices lately - but it's bloody fuel no matter from which angle you look at the situation. Don't be naive and think that this will mean less fuel for the Russian army, they are a priority in this matter - it will mean less fuel for the average Russian who wastes hours waiting in lines in front of gas stations. When you talk about migrants in the EU, you should know that what happened ten years ago is no longer the case - the EU then yielded to the pressure due to the attitude of Germany, which thought to solve the problem of its workforce with these migrants, but today the external borders of the EU are very well protected - I know this because I live in a country that is on the external border of the Schengen Area. The number of illegal entries has decreased by at least 60%, and everyone who comes legally from outside the EU must go through a registration process that includes providing biometric data. Yes, maybe it's easy for you to talk about changing the borders, like most US politicians - but for us who live in the immediate vicinity of the barbarians from the east (we call them orcs), it doesn't matter at all what could happen if Russia succeeds in its plan. It's even worse when we see that our greatest ally is stabbing us in the back for a little fuel - I think Roosevelt is turning in his grave at this kind of news, because what would the world be like today if he had colluded with the Nazis instead of wiping them off the face of the earth.

When theater is the only thing being produced on schedule, you just grab some popcorn and watch tickets go waste. Everyone loves complaining about energy bills while quietly paying for the backstage pass.

this shitcoin can stay on the nano, while the other Nano becomes a keychain.
I would suggest you never show off that keychain. It's more fun to boast a T-shirt with the phrase "I've got lots of bitcoin!" and a large firing target for decoration.
