BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-10-11 (Evening Edition)
Published: 2026-10-11 09:04 PM CT
Bitcoin is grinding higher into Sunday, up 0.69% over 24 hours, but the tape still carries the bruise of a 2.5% drop over seven days. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $21.1 million on Friday after back-to-back outflows of $484.9 million, a small truce in a month that has turned negative. Fear & Greed holds at 69 after seven days in Greed, though the 4-point weekly slide suggests the mood is cooling.
Outlook: Watch whether ETF flows can string together more than one green day, because October's net position of negative $386.3 million leaves little cushion. Thin weekend liquidity may amplify any reaction to Monday's open if funds keep buying.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Bitcoin is at $83,528.00, up 0.69% over 24 hours and down 2.5% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads -6 on a -50 to +50 scale. Sellers still hold the upper hand, but their grip loosened a little as price climbed back above $83,000. The bounce stalled near $84,000, leaving resistance $85,500 untouched and buyers without a clear win. Support $81,500 remains the line that matters: holding above it keeps the recovery from last week intact, while losing it opens the door to a deeper re-test. A close back below $81,500 would flip control firmly to the bears, and a push through $85,500 would confirm buyers have reclaimed momentum. Fear at 69 keeps greed in play, which may limit fresh dip-buying until sentiment cools.
SCENARIOS
- Consolidation Above $81,500 (44%): triggers: Bitcoin holds above $81,500 through Friday, with price chopping between $81,500 and $85,500 while sentiment stays near current greed readings. Invalidation: a daily close below $81,500 within five trading days. - Reclaim of $85,500 (26%): triggers: buyers drive a daily close above $85,500 within five trading days, opening the path toward $87,500. Invalidation: price fails to close above $85,500 and drops back below $83,000 by Friday. - Downside Re-test of $79,500 (30%): triggers: sellers break the week-old recovery by pushing price below $81,500 within five trading days, targeting $79,500. Invalidation: buyers defend $81,500 and price closes back above $83,500 by Friday.
TOP STORIES
1. Bitcoin ETFs post worst day since June as October flows turn negative URL: https://decrypt.co/380640/bitcoin-ethereum-solana-etfs-red-october Published: 2026-10-11 11:01 AM CT Summary: U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $21.1 million on Friday after back-to-back outflows of $484.9 million on Wednesday and $244.1 million on Thursday. The funds are down a net $386.3 million through the first seven trading days of October, and Wednesday's exit was the worst single day since June. The month started strong with $292.6 million in inflows across Oct. 1 and 2, but a $118.8 million inflow on Oct. 6 could not offset the selling. some shitcoin ETFs have fared worse, shedding $56.1 million on Friday to extend their outflow streak to nine days, with losses of $635 million in October and nearly $700 million over the full streak. some different shitcoin ETFs are also negative for the month at a loss of $24.8 million after five straight days of outflows, while Bitcoin ETFs hold $100.6 billion in total net assets with cumulative inflows of $57.6 billion since launch.
2. Lightning apps using unpatched LDK risk Bitcoin theft from a reconnect lie URL: https://cryptoslate.com/unpatched-ldk-apps-can-lose-bitcoin-when-a-lightning-peer-lies-after-reconnecting Published: 2026-10-11 01:00 PM CT Summary: Lightning Development Kit has patched a flaw that could let a malicious channel peer steal the value of a forwarded payment by lying after reconnecting. The attack starts with a peer acknowledging an update, then reconnecting and pretending it never received it, which could cause LDK to sign a conflicting commitment transaction before the fix. The forwarding application would have paid downstream without recovering the corresponding incoming funds, letting the malicious sender reclaim the incoming payment contract when it expired. Version 0.2.7 also fixes a separate LSPS2 flaw where an intercepted payment could misrepresent its amount, causing liquidity services to forward more Bitcoin than the incoming payment supplied. Developers must incorporate the patched library code into deployed software, and teams using LSPS2 need to account for payment contracts queued by a prior version. ^ I am going to start having my Grok Bot create a weekly news digest like that for all the different companies I've invested in along with Bitcoin. Pretty crazy that instead of reading the news, you can have AI do it and update you on things you're interested in that are deemed to be worthy of your attention. I'm really starting to like where this AI stuff is going. A huge 180 from how I felt about it just a few months ago. I also realized the error in my ways with my AI trading bot and have heavily skewed it towards stacking Bitcoin over time.

That's a sad part about it..cannot show your "club colors" in public.
Just enjoy the gains quietly instead of crying over missing out on high school clique vibes. ..maybe I am also into motorcycles...or football/soccer? If we are connecting with common sports hobbies, then my high school clique was apparently underground anti bonds global cabal. Very exclusive. By the way AI has seen your non edited post in TG mention. Sorry, I don't know what TG is. You want to get back to the gist of my edited argument? I am not the only one who has doubts around here, but I am neutral in this regard...really, hence the edit.

I'm trying to understand what's in the mind of a man who calls Putler, wishes him a happy birthday, literally gets down on his knees and begs for diesel - and this criminal in two days kills more than 50 civilians in Ukraine with slide bombs... Actually, I know the answer and the real question is how low can someone in such a high position go to preserve their political and business position? The immediate need to reduce energy costs for the American people? (in a way, it also decreases available energy for the Russian military so there's that angle which makes the image you included even more apropos) I find it strange that the Europeans who have failed to protect their own internal borders from a global irregular migrant invasion talk about the Ukraine borders as if they are fixed and non-negotiable. This is a glaring double standard which I suppose is masked only by their hatred for Putin. Sure, it's easy for me to sit on the other side of Atlantic and criticize but if the US were the only one asking for Russian energy, that would be one thing; Europe is still sucking it up in record amounts - the numbers don't lie. Maybe there is a triple standard in play? Ideologies are great but generally superseded by realities - you can't outwardly say, "FUCK YOU PUTIN!" and then write checks to him for the energy you desperately need. (Yeah, you can but it's not a great look) We've probably reached "peak" easy answers to our current problems and we're at the point where every single solution is going be painful. The Eurocrats are likely working on some wordy, suffocating legislation to fix everything and we should expect to see that in 2032. Maybe they'll present it to Putin as an 80th birthday surprise. It's no secret that Trumpy doesn't want to stay without the votes of farmers in some federal states where his party is in the majority, and who have been suffering because of fuel prices lately - but it's bloody fuel no matter from which angle you look at the situation. Don't be naive and think that this will mean less fuel for the Russian army, they are a priority in this matter - it will mean less fuel for the average Russian who wastes hours waiting in lines in front of gas stations. When you talk about migrants in the EU, you should know that what happened ten years ago is no longer the case - the EU then yielded to the pressure due to the attitude of Germany, which thought to solve the problem of its workforce with these migrants, but today the external borders of the EU are very well protected - I know this because I live in a country that is on the external border of the Schengen Area. The number of illegal entries has decreased by at least 60%, and everyone who comes legally from outside the EU must go through a registration process that includes providing biometric data. Yes, maybe it's easy for you to talk about changing the borders, like most US politicians - but for us who live in the immediate vicinity of the barbarians from the east (we call them orcs), it doesn't matter at all what could happen if Russia succeeds in its plan. It's even worse when we see that our greatest ally is stabbing us in the back for a little fuel - I think Roosevelt is turning in his grave at this kind of news, because what would the world be like today if he had colluded with the Nazis instead of wiping them off the face of the earth. Believe you me, I am following the EU migrant crisis and that's why I used the present perfect tense "have failed to protect" because while it started 10 years ago, it is still ongoing even if the borders are only 50% porous today. Even if they were permanently repaired by the October 2026 legislation, it is still a decade long hypocrisy and now that issue has negatively affected the Schengen zone of free travel for actual European citizens as a few countries have returned to "show us your papers" - I'm referring to Germany (where it all began thanks to Angela Merkel) but there are others. The problem is still actively fracturing Europe and when you see the dissension over the latest Spanish shenanigans... if you add in those 1.2 million irregular migrants given EU citizenship by Royal Decree, you might be right back up to 100% porous again. Europe had not yet achieved sovereignty over its borders. At least, they aren't fooling me - for whatever that's worth. America isn't stabbing you in the back for a little fuel. Ukraine and the West have a mutual enemy and this is the basis for a strategic partnership but it was never meant as an absolute where one does whatever the other desires - they don't have exactly the same goals. You know Roosevelt made deals with that Stalin monster, right? This is how the Soviets got a permanent seat and veto power on the UN Security Council and we were collectively able to disarm the Nazis.

The Eurocrats are likely working on some wordy, suffocating legislation to fix everything and we should expect to see that in 2032. Maybe they'll present it to Putin as an 80th birthday surprise. Political theater, the deal is a literal drop in the bucket, thats backfiring because the American people are sick of the lies and not as stupid as he thinks they are. I believe this is about diplomacy rather than political theater. You don't wish Putin a "Happy Birthday" and expect to gain popularity for the upcoming US elections. Trump has already forcefully asked Zelensky to stop destroying oil refining capacity in Russia because it has seriously affected the price of diesel world-wide. Zelensky and the media can easily point and say, "Look it's the Iran conflict!" which purposely ignores a couple of realities; the Nord Stream disaster which has caused untold financial damage to Ukraine's European allies, the very countries Ukraine relies on for financial and military assistance, and forced them to seek other, more expensive supplies of energy. Secondly, the destruction of Russian refineries is responsible for a diesel prices increased of 60-65% - because Russia was supplying Turkey, Brazil and North Africa with refined diesel and now those countries are forced to find alternative sources. The loss of ~50% of Russian refining capacity has had a greater effect on diesel prices than a lack of crude oil shipments through Hormuz. Crude oil is easy, refined product is difficult. So, while it may seem like a drop in the bucket in absolute math, it is a bargaining tool that shows someone in a position of immense power is willing to trade some sanctions relief for a much-needed ceasefire... and a little bit of leverage can get you the rest of the bucket. The USA doesn't even need to import diesel as they refine more than enough at home but since its price is driven by a global market, domestic producers can demand global prices at home. If you also consider that 15-20% of the current diesel price is speculative, this gesture might be enough to give some needed relief to Americans.

I had way too much turkey last night and I forgot to wish my fellow Canucks a Happy Thanksgiving!
My brother-in-law cooked it on the rotisserie in the BBQ and it was incredibly moist and tender... without a doubt, it was the best turkey I've ever tasted.

European countries have begun to focus more on their own interests than on those of the European Union. And I agree with you that we need to be realistic about the migration crisis, under no circumstances should it be underestimated, and the reality is that the problems of illegal migration are not going away and may even intensify in the future. In Germany, even more radical changes could potentially occur - not just document checks upon entry into the country. The number of citizens there who are extremely dissatisfied with Merz’s current policies, both domestic and foreign, is growing, as a result, either the current ruling elite will have to listen to the interests of the citizens, or simply different people will come to power.
