Imagine the joy you get just by seeing what humans do, ain't getting such fun if AI takes over it's gonna be a boring ass world man  Smiley

Meanwhile the 86-90k resistance range seems to be holding pretty well and sending market to lower prices, the price might be probably Interested in taking out a supply zone as liquidity located at 75k..

My personal predictions are...  price to take out liquidity which is at that 75k and after liquidity has been taken out I expect higher prices and a break of that 86-90k resistance.

But for now price is still at 81k, and is moving on a down trend

Hello WO gang,
observing 81677@Stamp.

Over the past weeks, I have been working on a new Project.
A tribute to this thread, my home in this community.

Wall Observer Anthology

The work covers 2013 through September 2026, drawing on more than 650,000 human-written posts. I used artificial intelligence to help organise this enormous collection and draft the narratives, working from archived forum posts and retaining links to the originals.
Each year follows the discussions month by month, bringing together market debates, memorable posts, personal episodes, memes, and running jokes.
The usual WO Report in yearly format provides the statistics, while the anthology tells the stories around them.

For newer readers, I hope it offers a way into the thread’s history. For the WO Gang, I hope it brings back moments (and pictures) you remember, and a few you had completely forgotten.
Above all, it is a chance to remember the people who made this place what it is, including participants who are no longer here. Their words, humour, generosity, and occasional spectacular stubbornness remain part of the thread.

I’ll publish the years chronologically, one every few days roughly, to digest all the material and accommodate suggestions on the format.
If you spot something that needs correcting, recognise the missing context behind a joke, or remember an episode worth including, please contribute. Your memories can help make the anthology better.

It would be more accurate and correct if you wrote "The White House plans to buy Bitcoin for strategic reserves for the first time," because they haven't bought anything so far.

They have Bitcoin in the reserve already. Any purchase would be adding more to it. Not reinventing the wheel here…
~snip~

For me, there is a big difference between "buying" and "taking" from someone. The US has its coins exclusively thanks to seizures, and I have no doubt that their amount will only grow without a single cent invested. Once again I ask the question "why spend money on something if you can get it completely free?"

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-10-17 (Late Morning Edition)

Published: 2026-10-17 09:03 AM CT

Strive's $630 million preferred stock raise is the story of the day, a 16.7% yield on a $100 claim that prices the risk of a leveraged Bitcoin treasury for anyone paying attention. The market itself is doing little, drifting 0.68% lower over 24 hours on a Saturday when thin liquidity makes every move look bigger than it is. Fear & Greed sits at 55, still Greed but sliding six points over the week, which reads less like conviction and more like a crowd losing its nerve quietly.

Outlook: Watch whether Strive's $157.5 million dividend reserve holds up against its own prospectus, which flags further capital raising as a primary funding source, since that tension between protection and dilution is now priced into the preferred. On the structural side, Google's Willow chip result narrows the timeline for quantum-vulnerable coins, and old Satoshi-era wallets have already started moving, so any acceleration in dormant coin transfers would be worth tracking as a supply signal.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Bitcoin is at $81,416.00, down 0.68% over 24 hours and down 1.8% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads -4 on a -50 to +50 scale. Sellers and buyers are both showing restraint, with the price holding a narrow band between $80,000 and $83,000 while sentiment sits at a Greed reading of 55. That combination suggests neither side has conviction to break the range, and the modest 30-day gain of 6.6% hints at a market digesting gains rather than reversing. The derived Institutional Lag Composite, a momentum and sentiment gauge, sits near neutral at -4, which aligns with the chop label rather than signaling a directional shift. A daily close below $80,000 would hand control to sellers and open the path toward $78,500, while a reclaim of $83,00 would put buyers back in charge with $84,000 as the next objective. Volume confirmation on either break would strengthen the signal, though a quiet drift within the range remains the path of least resistance.

SCENARIOS

- Consolidation Above $80,000 (51%): The price holds $80,000 as support through Friday, with daily closes staying above that level while the range between $80,000 and $83,000 persists. Greed sentiment at 55 and the modest 30-day gain suggest buyers are absorbing supply without urgency. Invalidation: a daily close below $80,000 within five trading days.
- Reclaim of $83,000 Toward $84,000 (22%): Buyers push the price through $83,00 on a daily close within five trading days, confirming demand strong enough to challenge the upper boundary. The 6.6% 30-day gain provides a modest tailwind, though the Greed reading of 55 hints sentiment alone may not sustain the move. Invalidation: failure to close above $83,000 by Friday, with the price drifting back toward $80,000.
- Downside Re-test of $78,500 (27%): Sellers force a daily close below $80,000 within five trading days, breaking the floor that has contained recent declines. A break of that level would likely accelerate moves toward $78,500 as stops trigger below the round number. Invalidation: the price reclaims $80,000 on a daily close before Friday, restoring the range.

KEY MARKET MOVERS

- Quantum wallet exposure: Satoshi-era coins with long-exposed public keys are the most vulnerable cohort in Google's modeled attack, and old holdings moving now may reflect holders positioning ahead of a quantum timeline.
- Weekend liquidity conditions: Saturday trading on thin books can amplify the appearance of direction in a market that has gone nowhere for days.

TOP STORIES

1. Strive prices SATS preferred at $90, implying a 16.7% yield on a $100 claim
URL: https://cryptoslate.com/the-hidden-trade-behind-strives-16-7-bitcoin-income-offer
Published: 2026-10-17 06:00 AM CT
Summary: Strive priced seven million shares of its new SATS perpetual preferred stock at $90 each on Oct. 15, raising $630 million gross before expenses, with settlement set for Oct. 20. Each share carries a $100 stated amount and a $15 annual dividend paid daily in small installments starting Nov. 9, which works out to a 16.67% cash yield at the offering price. The $100 liquidation preference is a claim in a wind-down, not a guaranteed exit price, and the shares have no maturity date, so a buyer who pays $90, collects $15 over a year, and resells at $75 would break even before costs. The preferred ranks ahead of common shares but behind Strive's existing SATA preferred, and subsidiary debt and future issuances can dilute that protection, a tension visible in the company's October Bitcoin purchases lifting gross Bitcoin per effective common share by just 1.72%. Strive will set aside $157.5 million at closing, 18 months of dividends at $22.50 per share, and its prospectus flags further capital raising as a primary funding source beyond that reserve, meaning the high yield is compensation for payment, priority, and resale risk rather than free income.

2. Google's Willow chip cuts quantum error rates 40-fold, easing path to a bitcoin wallet threat
URL: https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2026/10/16/satoshi-era-bitcoin-faces-a-bigger-quantum-threat-after-google-s-new-willow-breakthrough
Published: 2026-10-17
Summary: Google reported that its Willow quantum chip reduced errors about 40-fold when preparing magic states, a resource consumed continuously during quantum calculations. The experiment achieved about 99.99 percent fidelity among states that passed inspection, though only about 8 percent of preparation attempts survived the checks. The result advances an engineering method rather than making a bitcoin attack 40 times cheaper, since Google's March estimate already assumed efficient magic-state production. Under one modeled attack, a machine with fewer than 500,000 physical qubits would need roughly 500,000 reliable magic states per second for about nine minutes after a public key becomes exposed. Satoshi-era coins remain the most exposed because their public keys have been visible for years, and old holdings have been moving recently, including 100.02 BTC dormant since July 2010 worth about $8.5 million and 553.59 BTC inactive since 2011-2014 worth roughly $40 million.

I don't think it will ever get the OK for human transportation on ordinary roads. I don't even want to think about energetic efficiency. Lift 2+ tons for a 5% payload? It looks like a gimmick.

Once again I ask the question "why spend money on something if you can get it completely free?"

it is not free and likely the investigations cost quite a bit to grab the money.

I have a buddy that got busted for weed a few years ago. the NJ state government grabbed 3 coins from him. maybe 3x1k at the time or 51k.  They spent far more than 51k to catch him. Plus they raided his house when it had 1.1 oz of pot the least amount he had in the least year.

He lost the weed the coins and his drivers license . They state sold the coins for 47k.

A lot of USA coins grabbed by feds are the result of large expense operations.

Oh pot is fully legal in the State of NJ. and if my friend was to get a lawyer and pay about 20k he would be able to drive again and he would be able to open a pot store to help make up for the dumb ass shit the government did to him.
