I am trying to formulate a conjecture below:
Bitcoin was at 63226 on Nov 2, 20221 Bitcoin is at 76,772 right now on Nov 2, 2026. Roughly 21% up in 5 years, which is about 4% a year. I know, i know..cycles.
However, 5 year time period is still informative for my "conjecture":
I propose, specifically, that bitcoin's relatively low performance in the last 5 years was due to M Saylor's activities with MSTR and STRC. Essentially, by issuing a debt security that pays 10-12% yearly, he put an upper bound of bitcoin average yearly appreciation at the same 10-12%. Why? Because there cannot be any economic perpetuum mobile where he would get more than 10-12% average appreciation in bitcoin and then would be able to issue more and more of STRC, forming an endless pyramid of sorts. No wonder that JPMorgan proposes 10% bitcoin appreciation (per year) going forward.
I am OK with 10% and I am also OK with MSaylor not being able to go "crazy" with his STRC.
That said, if 10% is what we 'should' get, then, maybe next 5 years would be roughly 16% a year to get to the 10% per year across 10 years. 16% a year from Nov 2, 2026 would result in about $161.25-164K by Nov 2, 2031.
I can live with that.
Which is why I kept half in. BTW the bonds I was mocked for grabbing in early 2022 have just about matched btc in that for time frame 2022 to 2026. Basically btc has run out of gas and maybe due to Saylor and his games.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-11-02 (Evening Edition)
Published: 2026-11-02 08:03 PM CT
Bitcoin is grinding lower into the new week, down 4.7% over seven days and 11.0% over 30 days, with the Fear & Greed Index stuck at 26 for a fifth straight session. The dominant story is Strategy, which bought 811 Bitcoin for about $66 million between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1 at an average of $80,846, lifting holdings to 849,327 BTC, even as its deployable cash fell 45.3% to $133 million because STRC buybacks outpaced the coin purchases. Price sits below the 30-day average of $81,434, and the tone is cautious rather than panicked.
Outlook: Watch whether the 200-day moving average holds on any further weakness, a level Chris Sullivan of Hyperion Decimus flagged as the line he wants to see defended. Also keep an eye on the roughly 29,220 bitcoin-equivalent CME shorts worth about $2.2 billion, which Sullivan says could fuel a squeeze if exchange withdrawals into cold storage continue. Strategy's shrinking deployable cash balance is the other thread to track, since buybacks are now competing with Bitcoin purchases for the same dollars.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Bitcoin is at $77,028.00, down 1.73% over 24 hours and down 4.7% over seven days. The derived Momentum-Sentiment Composite reads -5 on a -50 to +50 scale. Sellers hold the initiative here. Price sits roughly 3.3% above support at $74,500 and about 3.2% below resistance at $79,500, so the market is camped in the lower half of a defined range with momentum tilted down. Fear & Greed at 26 tells you sentiment has already absorbed a lot of the decline, though that reading describes mood, not forced selling. What would flip control is a decisive reclaim of $79,500 on a daily close, which would open the path toward the $82,000 upside target; losing $74,500 instead puts the $72,500 downside target in play. Until one of those breaks, the range itself is the story.
SCENARIOS
- Range Defense Above $74,500 (39%): triggers: buyers absorb the current drift and price prints a daily close at or above $74,500 while Fear & Greed holds at or above 20, keeping the range intact through Friday. Invalidation: a daily close below $74,500 at any point through Friday. - Reclaim of $79,500 Toward $82,000 (17%): the upside needs a genuine change of tone, not just a bounce, so watch for a daily close above $79,500 that follows a session where Fear & Greed climbs back above 30; that combination would confirm buyers are stepping in rather than short covering. Invalidation: price fails to close above $79,500 through Friday, or slips back below $74,500 first. - Breakdown Through $74,500 to $72,500 (44%): with the composite at -5 and a month of steady declines behind it, the path of least resistance still points lower, and a daily close under $74,500 would confirm sellers retain control and open the $72,500 target. Invalidation: a daily close back above $74,500 through Friday, which would return the market to the range and neutralize the breakdown.
KEY MARKET MOVERS
- Strategy's cash squeeze: The firm's deployable USD Cash fell 45.3% to $133 million as $208 million of STRC preferred buybacks topped the prior weekly record, leaving less room for further Bitcoin purchases. - CME short overhang: Roughly 29,220 bitcoin-equivalent shorts worth about $2.2 billion sit on CME, a structural condition that could unwind quickly if cold-storage withdrawals keep building. - AI selloff read-through: Tom Lee argues the AI stock selloff has bottomed, pointing to Intel's 78% data center and AI revenue growth against manufacturing constraints, a signal he ties to washed-out crypto sellers.
TOP STORIES
1. Strategy's deployable cash falls 45% as STRC buybacks outpace Bitcoin purchases URL: https://cryptoslate.com/strategys-deployable-cash-falls-45-as-buybacks-outpace-bitcoin-purchases Published: 2026-11-02 04:25 PM CT Summary: Strategy bought 811 Bitcoin for about $66 million between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1 at an average price of $80,846, lifting its holdings to 849,327 BTC acquired for an aggregate $64 billion at an average of $75,451 per coin. The company sold roughly 1,178,552 MSTR common shares through its at-the-market program for $164 million in net proceeds, and only $66 million of that went to Bitcoin while $99 million went into its deployable USD Cash balance. Strategy repurchased about 2,092,035 STRC preferred shares for $208 million, topping the prior weekly record of $205 million set in late October and averaging about $99.52 per share against the security's $100 stated value. Deployable USD Cash fell 45.3% from $242 million to $133 million over the week, while a separate $4.79 billion USD Reserve earmarked for preferred dividends and debt interest declined from $4.83 billion after $43 million in preferred dividend payments. Strategy has spent more than $2 billion on preferred-stock repurchases since launching the program in July, and it holds about $749 million in remaining authorization under its expanded $3 billion repurchase program plus an unused $1 billion authorization for MSTR common shares.
2. Tom Lee Says AI Stock Selloff Has Bottomed URL: https://decrypt.co/382357/tom-lee-calls-bottom-ai-stock-selloff-crypto Published: 2026-11-02 01:46 PM CT Summary: Fundstrat co-founder and Bitmine chairman Tom Lee told CNBC he believes the AI stock selloff has reached its bottom. Lee argued that demand for AI remains constrained by supply rather than excess capacity, and he said political opposition is slowing spending growth without signaling the boom has peaked. Intel shares fell nearly 30% to $65.76 after a weak fourth-quarter forecast, even though its data center and AI revenue rose 78% from a year earlier to $7.3 billion, and manufacturing constraints limited its ability to meet demand. Lee pointed to crypto's limited reaction to the Binance breach, where roughly $6.4 billion was drained, as evidence that sellers have largely washed out. Bitcoin still fell about 4% to roughly $76,400 on Friday, more than $1.3 billion in leveraged positions were forcibly closed, and U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs shed $643.2 million, their largest daily outflow of October.
3. Bitcoin Traders Eye Post-Election Squeeze as Exchange Outflows Build URL: https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/11/02/bitcoin-traders-eye-post-election-rally-as-exchange-outflows-point-to-supply-squeeze Published: 2026-11-02 Summary: Chris Sullivan of Hyperion Decimus flagged roughly 29,220 bitcoin-equivalent short positions on CME worth about $2.2 billion, alongside $21.99 billion in short-side taker volume over 24 hours. Sullivan said the recent Binance hack has made positioning data harder to read, and large amounts of bitcoin have since been pulled off exchanges into cold storage self-custody. Sullivan called the withdrawals very bullish but not immediately, and he expects them to support prices over the next several months. Sullivan said the Crypto Fear and Greed Index and seller exhaustion measures resemble patterns from the first pullback of a new bitcoin bull market, and he wants the 200-day moving average to hold on any further weakness. Mark Connors of Risk Dimensions argued investors are wasting time trading the election outcome, pointing to round-the-clock trading investments by Intercontinental Exchange and Robinhood and bank payment efforts in some shitcoin, and he maintained a $180,000 bitcoin target for 2027 and a $500,000 base case for 2030. Did Tom Lee become a bitcoin-side Cramer all of a sudden? He had some right calls before, but the VB-coin was not among those. He does not opine too much on btc, though.

I feel like we've already been over this. He does opine on bitcoin and it is a massive part of his identity. Which prediction of his was right? I bet it was off by years and likely a no-brainer as well, like "Uh... bitcoin go up" or "Dude, buy the dip!" None of his specific predictions were "right" and especially when he got specific about them imo. Maybe we have the bar set at different levels. Maybe you give him more credit because he wears a suit and glasses. I think he's a boob.
