AI Overview The quote is not by Benjamin Franklin, even though it is frequently misattributed to him.
Quora Actual Origin: Historical research indicates the phrase was likely coined around 1951 by American newspaperman Elmer T. Peterson. Common Misattributions: It is frequently and falsely credited to Benjamin Franklin or Alexander Tytler, and does not appear anywhere in Franklin's writings or letters.
Quora
ahh sounds better by Franklin
It's in the congressional record so that is good enough for me, but it doesn't matter who said it. Here's another quote for you guys, you can try and hunt down the first person who said it if thinking that is information that you can obtain makes you feel better. "The difference between right and wrong is the number of people that agree with you." The previously discussed quote is widely attributed to Benjamin Franklin, so it is his quote. I have been saying it for decades now and commonly come across folks who think a Google search makes them smart. To those people I say, do a Google search on if men can get pregnant. "Yes, pregnancy is possible"

I like this one: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

"Yes, pregnancy is possible" I disagree, though i think i understand the message behind it. The point is, the quote respects only opinions, but not facts. Sure, there are many opinions, but facts resemble a class of it's own, because they overrule opinions. Even if an opinion is build upon facts, it's still an opinion. Sure, we can stretch this out to make facts look like definitions, Maybe the context of the quote is strictly political, then it would at least form a "partial truth", but politics is then also only a description in a wider scope. However, not trying to nitpick, but things always seem simple when you look at them at a distance, so i'm naturally looking for possible complexity I like this one: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."
Maybe they know what they want, but they don't question it. Brilliant quote, though.

Maybe they know what they want, but they don't question it. Brilliant quote, though. Every fact is in opinion shared by others. It was once a fact that the world was flat. It was once a fact that the sun revolved around the earth. It was once a fact that the earth was the center of the universe. It was once a fact that leeches removed diseases from blood. It was once a fact that man would never be able to fly... I could go on and on, but the only thing that science has ever taught us is that facts are only facts if a high enough percentage of people believe them. Countless people throughout history had their lives ruined for trying to spread the truth when it didn't match the "facts" of the time... It was once a fact that men couldn't get pregnant... What will the "facts" be in another 50 years?

Hmm, now you mistake facts with beliefs. Good you brought the flat earth argument. Let me react with a little quiz: The earth is much more globular than planar.
Is this: 1 - an opinion? 2 - a belief? 3 - a fact?

It's a fact because there are several evidence to prove that the earth is slightly squash spherical. Fact goes with evidence. The visibility of ships, lunar eclipse and different time zones.

There are only two cases for your posts: - Number goes down. Rich people cry, because their investment is worth less.
 - Number goes up. Poor people cry, because they didn’t have money to invest when number was down—or worse, they were forced by circumstance to spend the bottom wherefore deflationary money is arsehole torture-money for the poor.
 3. Number stays exactly the same—which, LOL, is just not gonna happen.Either way, you make people cry. Therefore, this is one of the few issues on which everyone should agree: Fuck you, arsehole.* nullius punches ChartBuddy in the face.

Additionally, Tesla can expect to benefit from the return of electric car subsidies right as they launch their customer owned Robotaxi network.
That would put democrat politicians in quite the tough space. There will undoubtedly be exclusions for Tesla. It seems they will likely squeeze things from the ICE end this go around. That's if the green side of things is on the agenda as there seems to have been a cooling off about that kind of thing (though that may have been temporary). Hard to predict. Policy tends to change faster than cars do. They’ve actually already been trying to not only revive the electric car tax credit, but are even attempting to double it to $15,000. Hard to complain too much when they’ll be paying for me to build a Robotaxi fleet (1 car per year for the credit I believe) but it’s not an easy one to justify to the taxpayer. At least you're honest about it. Not many people admit when a subsidy works in their favor.

I like this one: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."
Personally... I like H. L. Mencken. His words are sharp and often right. Like this one: Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule, and both commonly succeed, and are right. And this one too: Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage.
