Bulls buying behind the stupid bears their backs.  Grin Grin Grin yet they keep on coming back telling us about "final caputilation" and "dead cats"

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-brokers-trade-millions-without-exchange/

From that article:
Quote
Contrast this with Bitstamp, has accounted for up to 40% of daily traded volume at times this year.

Bitstamp 40% of volume?

My tuareg friends told me that they saw CoinDesk's credibility last year, wearing a fake beard and riding a camel through Timbuktu on her way to Samarkand.  But they are not sure it was her.

Quote
But in the markets today, there is less and less volume. Even in the equity markets, institutions are trading with each other and taking trades offline.

Good try.  Actually, a unicorn trader told me that there is less volume on the exchanges today because people are using 100$ dollar bills instead of 10$ dollar bills to buy bitcoin.  Grin

looking at the bitfenix swaps, looks like the drop was initiated by longs closing, and then poeple shorted the bottom as more longs closed ( at a lose no doubt ).

bad way to start the week.

the good news is that the bad news is that price has been and continues to drop. not much more to it, it seems.

volume isn't bad, it isn't gr8, but without any real news backing up this drop, and seemingly dumb money driving the drop, its not hard to see why we could bottom on relatively low volume anyway.

Tricky atypical bottom? ... maybe but,

depth looks bad,  asks seem to be unusually high and bids seem unusually low.

were in store for some more dropping people...  Undecided

Not at all. Market makers play with traders beliefs all the time.

yes, less knowledgeable poeple might see apple's new payment system as bitcoins killer. how can a bunch of nerds compete against such a giant like apple? bitcoin is doomed, bla bla bla.

I see apple's new payment system as pure hype. taking adv of the confusion bitcoin has caused, trying to pretend to be an alternative to bitcoin. exactly as canada's mint chip did.

Sentences in the video like:
"We have magical money. Not bound by bank or bill. It's instant, simple, and secure enough to get out on the way. Consider yourself invited to the people economy."

This must be paypal response to the apple thing. It seems quite a commitment.

No, and there isn't going to be an Apple coin. NFC payments are not the issue and that's never been what bitcoin has been about. That's not the real competition; you can have NFC payment with bitcoin and it is still more efficient than credit cards because of the lower transaction fee.

But they have the potential to dramatically reduce online credit card fraud when combined with Touch ID and potentially the iWatch, and that is partly what bitcoin is about.

On a positive note, Google, eBay/Paypal etc might finally be forced to integrate bitcoin to compete with Apple.

Didn't expect it to happen this quickly  Grin
