Does leveraged short mean the exchanges are lending them money??

In a way. It means that the exchange gives them bitcoins e.g. give the exchange 1 bitcoin and they give you 10 (or 20 or 50, depending how much leverage you have).
They then dump these coins straight onto the market and try to rebuy cheaper. When they re-buy they can sell back to the exchange and pocket the difference.
There was a lot of money being made doing this all the way down from $600.

Now the price is going back up and the shorts forgot to buy back in. They are now being forced to buy back in but some brave souls are trying to dump more to stop the rise. Shit's getting real. Let's hope the exchange didn't get greedy either and lend more than they can get back!

The NEXT 24 hours are critical to whether BTC prices go up or down.

Let me explain what I mean...

In the next 24 hours, there is likely going to be another attempt to push BTC prices down with high volume.. though I fear that many of the bears are running out of steam, but nonetheless they are going to attempt again interrupt that which is beginning to appear more and more like a  trend reversal (10 months of bear la la land).  

Whether these bears will be successful to push prices down and to interrupt the reversal of the downward trend (which may have already taken place), will be another question.  

So in other words, if the remaining bears cannot push BTC prices back down, then BTC prices are likely to go up in the next 24-48 hours.  

On the other hand, if BTC prices do NOT go either up nor down within the next 24-48 hours, then BTC prices will go sideways...      There I am covered.

If we don't retrace to at least 380 I would be quite surprised.

I am hopeful that the market is maturing enough that it can smooth out the meteoric rise that always seems to be just around the corner.

In the meantime, I call upon those brave souls out there that are willing to risk their precious bitcoin to short this market and keep the price as low as possible for as long as they can remain solvent.
