DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

The project manager of the Internet of Coins team, along with the board of recommendation, will keep track of the advances in development, marketing and all other details regarding the project and its timeline. Updates will be sent out in the form of newsletters to cover unfolding events and milestones reached. Every quarter the developments done will be assessed and planning for the following quarter will be adjusted where necessary to enable a timely response to technological progress outside the project as well as what is happening in the cryptocurrency markets.

PRICING DIFFERENTIATION

The tokens distributed for the Internet of Coins project are called HYBRID. These tokens will be made available initially on seven different blockchain ecosystems simultaneously, namely Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), CounterParty (XCP), NXT Platform (NXT), New Economy Movement (XEM), Waves Platform (WAVES) and Bitshares (BTS). There will be 1000000 (one million) tokens available on each ecosystem. During the crowdfund 900000 (nine hundred thousand) of these tokens will be offered to those taking part. 100000 (one hundred thousand) tokens will be reserved for crowdfund reward payouts.
During the crowdfund the price per HYBRID token will increase over time. Once the fundraiser is over, tokens will not be subject to inflation other than the moments that HYBRID is expanded to new blockchains.

Furthermore, as long as the project has the ability to proceed as planned, crowdfund token holders will receive rewards in the three years following the fundraiser. These will be distributed as follows:
in 2018 5% of remaining 10% reserved tokens,
in 2019 3% of remaining 10% reserved tokens,
in 2020 2% of remaining 10% reserved tokens,
In addition, token holders will receive a 5% token bonus of every new blockchain assetsystem officially hooked up to HYBRID by the Internet of Coins team.

ACCOUNTABILITY

NLnetInternet of Coins is held accountable to how collected funds are being spent by the appointed sequestration organization, the NLnet Foundation. Every payment, whether regular or bounty, must be requested before funds can be spent, to safeguard the financial situation of Internet of Coins, and to make sure developments can proceed in a steady and orderly fashion. In this way all funds vested by crowdfunding participants are legally and procedurally safeguarded.

The pie chart on the Terms page gives an overview of how collected funds will be allocated in the project.
In short, as crowdfund proceedings grow, we intend to scale up more in developers and community bounties.

- Topic of this week: Early Birds
As you may have read before, we started this project to just build tech. With all our code being open sourced by the Commons Conservancy and our fundraiser expenditures managed by custodian NLnet, we made sure we would be able to do just that. So in terms of governance, we are held accountable for the milestones we set, and what our actions are.

Bearing this in mind and with the Funding Terms being released next week, we would like to announce a one-time offer for the fundraiser first to our subscribers. We recommend to first always read the terms themselves upon release. They describe, among other things:

the pricing rates of the hybrid tokens issued ($1 per token on opening at any of the supported chains, rising up to $2 at closing June 21st)
the amount of tokens issued (1,000,000 per supported blockchain type, currently 7 systems)
the reward system for all participants of the fundraising period:
5% additional payout of initially raised tokens by participants after the first year,
3% additional payout of initially raised tokens by participants after the second year,
2% additional payout of initially raised tokens by participants after the third year,
5% payout in issued tokens of future added asset systems upon their addition by the foundation to the network
the amount of tokens reserved (700,000 (10%) for development and payouts)
the minimum threshold for the fundraiser (less than $350,000 raised for development will always default to a full refund)

As subscribers, we want to extend to you the offer of becoming an Early Bird participant. Early Birds are eligible to receive the hybrid tokens at a 5% discount, or $0.95 per token. Your tokens will be reserved and allocated before the fundraiser starts. The minimum entry to become an Early Bird is a value equivalent to 10 BTC. The funds are allocated at our custodian, and will be fully refunded if the minimum threshold for the crowdfund is not reached.

Interested? Send an email to earlybird@internetofcoins.org and we will provide instructions on how to participate. The Early Bird offer ends March 21st 09.59 UTC; the day the fundraiser starts at 10.00 UTC.

- Development evolution
BIG UPDATE: our hybrid asset now supports NEM, Waves and Bitshares as well!
This makes the total amount of supported asset chains for the fundraiser now 7. This week we gave our first live demo at Bitcoin Wednesday Amsterdam, explaining how we use combinations of blockchains, setting up currency recipes, and providing a first look at our GUI which the alpha group is currently testing. We´ll send the link once the presentation is up. In the meantime, Amadeus wrote an article on how we deal under the hood with our client security, which got published here.

- Campaign growth
The banner campaigns have caused quite a stir and we´re very happy with the signups going through the roof! The Spanish, Russian and Chinese site translations are coming along nicely. This week we got some great feedback on our presentation at Bitcoin Wednesday Amsterdam.
After recently adding Marietje Kardaun as an adviser on Ethics, we now also welcome Bas Wisselink, boardmember of the NXT Foundation, as our latest member of the Committee of Recommendation. Being involved in blockchain projects for many years, he will reflect with us on the integration of the NXT platform and the cooperation with academia.

- Latest publications
We see an increase of our articles on the developer blog being picked up. Our latest pieces are on the objectivity and security of the platform, how we implemented fingerprinting and keys and our views on personal finance for expat. Bitcoin has proven how easy and cheap it can be to transfer value worldwide, so let´s make that happen for all blockchain value systems.

Last week we opened up the Early Bird registration on the mailinglist, for anyone interested to step in before the launch March 21st. We thank our readers for the first batch of signups. You rock!
Interested in becoming an early participant with a discount? Take a look at the Early Birds terms and leave us a message at earlybirds@internetofcoins.org. Next week, direct participation via the website opens up.

The HYBRID assets in the crowdfund will offer rewards for at least the upcoming 3 years, with a stake in future projects of the Internet of Coins ecosystem. What will we be doing during this period? You can check our roadmap for the expected development cycle, and how we intend to invest the capital raised.

The crowdfund will take place in the course over 3 months, starting March 21st and ending June 21st, when summer finally has arrived. We now have published the asset pricing differentiation over the weeks. All funds are allocated at our financial custodian, and will be fully refunded if the minimum threshold for the crowdfund is not reached.

- Development evolution
Amadeus' last article about the implementation of Tor and I2P into the client got some positive feedback, thanks everyone for that! At Bitcoin Wednesday Amsterdam we have recently given a presentation about the inner workings of the client, and provided a demo to show our current GUI. You can find it here. Be sure to check it out if you have any questions left about the system we're building. In the meantime, Joachim has taken some to time to describe what is under the hood of the Weavechain, a vital part of the client.

- Campaign growth
The Chinese site is now being polished online, with Arabic in the works. Since we got picked up by several Asian sites, the traffic has exploded and we even had a moment of downtime. An Eastern version of the Slashdot effect :-)
We welcome Ronny Boesing, CEO of OpenLedger, as our latest member of the Board of Recommendation. Ronny has successfully brought the decentralized exchange OpenLedger to the market, and will advise us in achieving the same for Internet of Coins.

- Latest publications
Lately, we have been featured at CryptocoinsNews, Cointelegraph and Bitcoin.com and according to our agents apparently two American TV channels. Friday, you can catch us at the BlockchainUA event in Kiev. On Monday, we will participate in a live streamed interview, which you can check out here.
