I think every commodity that is considered luxurious like gold, jewels, computers would go down in price. People tend not to care about stuff like investments when bombs are falling on their heads.
Also in every world war there were countries that stayed outside of the conflict. It's possible bitcoin would thrive there.

Bitcoin will be among the many things to collapse as our generation relies on such technologies. I think we would revert back to the barter system for trade, imo precious stones/metals and food will be the main commodities to hold and trade with.

I don't anything will be valuable if you live except the food and water which are the immediate need of the people. Yes, another war will end the human race completely when we are considering the atom evolution of any country's protection capabilities. The internet and its most required thing of power supply are sensible to get collapsed on atomic war so bitcoin will not survive a war. You kind of answered your own question there.  If anything collapsed the power grid, bitcoin would be worthless.   Precious metals would be the go-to asset, with guns and food.  But would a war cause that worldwide?   Probably not.

Nope, bitcoin won't fail at all as people can't withdraw theirs without internet connection, electricity or exchanges to do so.
I don't think store your wealth on gold in world war 3 is a wise move as people could going crazy hunt for 'the precious one', carrying cash will be better in my opinion. But bitcoin price won't fall too far, just $100-300 drop maybe.
Yes, guns and food will be the most important things to survive, so better to buy a Land far away from nearest city, and prepare food and all of major things to survive.

If world war 3 happened we will go back to a bartering system, dollars will be useless, and the same can be said about gold and bitcoin, after some time maybe gold will make a comeback but right after the war the most important things will be food, weapons, ammo, alcohol, drugs and stuff like that.

This reminds me I should be stocking up honey, vodka and silver.


Back to topic, bitcoin could still be useful, even rise in price, in areas that are not yet affected by the war. Should an area enter the conflict though, it can no longer be assured. Bitcoin would be the last on people's minds and even having electricity and internet might not be enough. You can bring your bitcoins with you though when you flee your country, so that's good.

The biggest question of course would be, would there be humans left to use bitcoins? Just a nuclear war between India and Pakistan could already lead to severe changes to the climate, just imagine bombs from the other nuclear armed nations coming off.

While the internet was originally conceived to resist a nuclear holocaust we need to think with common sense, if you offer me a bitcoin for a can of tuna, is that a good trade? Even if bitcoin eventually made a come back, may be I will nor survive long enough to see it, so it is better to keep the tuna.

Now days power is literally everywhere around us. Even if someone, somehow shut down entire system nothing will be lost, everything will be kept on hard drives, and after plugin in again everything will be restored and value can increase. No power just means you can`t transfer bitcoins, but no power doesn`t mean there is no bitcoins, they don`t depend from electricity.

Exactly my point, in the war times people think about their lives, but there is always war profiteers, they will go from house to house and they will take everything worth they find, I know that I have lived in war more then 7 years.

i think as soon as time pass our agricultural technology is also improving which is completing the need of the growing population. similarly in science and technology we are also improving and beside electricity and fuel scientists are finding other ways of resources so we at at least save tell next century.

Even though I'm holding a small amount of bitcoins and I trust cryptocurrencies , I can't say that bitcoins will be used after WWIII , the same scenario will happen like the other wars , gold will simply be the only thing that worth anything. I found it impossible for gold and silver to lose value , It's the only thing that has been used for thousands and thousands of years and still being used right now.

But you are assuming a civilization still exists, if a world war 3 happen then it is very likely that nuclear weapons will be used and will destroy our way of life as we know it and in that moment almost everything we take for granted will be taken away from us.

I hope no world war 3, maybe if there was a world war 3 bitcoin will fall fiat prices going up in a war of money that can buy everything power, protection, etc. and bitcoin or cryptocurrency probably not worthwhile because we need the internet and possibly satellite will be destroyed to avoid spies then no internet connection
