The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Please can enyone help me?  I reach 5.5 s/s speed with amd rx 480. I see here https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerZero write for speed 9.1 S/s. Enyone from you reach this speed??

Do you have a rx480 with 4GB or 8GB of ram? What OS do you use?

8GB, windows

Yes, you should get around 9.1S/s. Make sure you have enough virtual memory (at least 8gb) and nothing else is keeping the card busy. It might also help to reboot before starting the miner.

Is there any news worth mentioning around this project? It looked very promising at one point but then the dev decided to go MIA.

patience... as stated in OP

Is dev alive?
Yes
Is dev posting to the thread?
No

But I have to agree, some sort of update would be nice at this point.

Yes indeed would be nice for some update or some news of project...

Maybe some new exchange... Price fall for now

Is it worth of mining?

There was some info about website and some improvements. But it is already some time ago and no news until now. So who knows what is going on.

BTC has seen some serious pumps, whenever this happens, all other coins hit the red.

Also a website and wallet would be advantageous

What about the GUI wallets that are linked on the first page? Are they not good enough?

Is there maybe any prospect for an "optimized" zero nvidia windows miner?
What I mean in particular is the high cpu usage.
I can only run the zero miner with 1 device each. Running 2 instances for 2 1080ti and cpu is 100%.
When I close one instance the other speeds up a little bit, so it even seems to bottleneck the hashing performance.

Sad to see price fall down to 10k sat. This way the coin is super undervalued.

Again, I'm going to mention Ethereum and Metropolis, and reiterate that there are a lot of unknowns, but most of the development can be followed. it seems to be approaching completion, maybe a month away, maybe longer. They never gave a fixed release date but August was suggested as a rough estimate earlier this year. If they are behind schedule, all the better it means they are being meticulous.

(the audio is a bit distorted, video is long, but, it's pretty complete.)

I believe the Zen chain is currently implementing something similar. Still, what remains is that Zero has a faster block time, and I believe it can handle more transactions per block, all the other extras are a nice touch to in this inter-chain future.

Great at least someone who has info. I do not need to hurry, I just wanted to have some informations about progress.

CPU should not be bottleneck it just spins on a busy wait all the time.

Reducing the CPU usage would require to rewrite the mining algorithm in CUDA which is a major effort.

Very good,

Exactly there is the problem!
Now zero has advantages,
But other coins will come
And if Zero is not promoted now,
Then the advantages are gone
And he becomes uninteresting
That's why we should promote him and develop him further.

Special thanks @ optiminer for the great support

Right now so much different coin's that you can't even think about forgot about CMC.... if you do that - you'r dead...

Is it worth it to mine this coin?? I like its structure until I saw this WARNING: ZERO is completely EXPERIMENTAL piece of opensource software and is provided as is without any guarantees.
That's pretty much the MIT open source license.
