Milestones completed:
3 fully working stable pools

Milestones close to completion
1) Windows Wallet
2) Website

Near Future Milestones:
1) More exchanges (Currently on Cryptopia)
2) Update Miner to work on Windows for Nvidia cards

Online Resources
New repo with the latest codebase and instructions https://github.com/zerocurrencycoin/zero
Pre-built Ubuntu binaries https://github.com/tearodactyl/zero/releases/tag/v1.0.12
New Twitter account, that everyone should follow https://twitter.com/zero_currency
New sub-Reddit, that you too can comment on https://www.reddit.com/r/zero/

So, the unpaid Santa's helpers have been busy, but we got somewhat sidetracked by other important stuff.
David's wrapped-up in maintenance on Zcash and Hush
Lokko and Fido have brought up a new mining pool
Tearo (that's me) has been helping out with validation of Bitcoin Gold. Regardless of how I feel about the project, need to make sure that it's not a complete disaster on launch and that people don't lose coin due to replay attacks.

So, these side projects are wrapping up and we'll continue hammering away at building a solid baseline of code and online services for this coin.

As to future plans and the roadmap, we have some amazing ideas.  But I'm not getting distracted by those until the baseline is in place.
  Tearo

P.S. Totally remember that we've pulled together and collected the bounty of 1500 ZER for the Windows port of the codebase.  David Mercer is just about the most qualified fellow to get this done, as he will, soon. But we are hanging on to the bounty till he does and it all works and the process is well documented.

ZERO new miners and ZERO affectionate supporters bring patience .. ZERO will be a great surprise

but Zerocoin (zcoin) is different from Zero, isn't?

Or it uses the same protocol?

Before Announcement

Minerentry presents you a new Zero Pool

The pool is still in development and we ask for your patience
something should not work immediately
, you are welcome to test it but it is released for 1 week

After the test phase we will carry out some further optimizations
and also change the design

Happy Mining

minerentry

http://minerentry.com

and thanks for the first miners who used our pool tested so far !

you  miner.tips?Huh/
I need to say that there is no connection to miner.tips, Minerentry is brand new group. Maybe that it is because thay used default layout, but pool is at the moment in testing stage, later new layout will be selected. I am mining with their pool and I need to say great work guys. I am going to support this group. For me I am lucky that there is another pool.

Hey matejbilahora,

thank you very much that you supported our pool for 1 week sacrificially
with all the ups and downs

and remain faithful to us, we need more from such miners!
I think we all have something of it when a new pool
is working.

THANK YOU

 Smiley

Thanks for letting me know, I got it up and running through Ubuntu, Windows Zcashd wasn't doing anything...

Anybody having trouble running the node?... I cant seem to get it running... Ive been able to run Bitcoinz Node and Hush, but not Zero... Any help?.. It seems like I am not connectiong to any other nodes and it just sit's there with 0 blocks synced.
You gotta use a new set of seeds:
zeropool.cloud
54.144.219.55

Anybody know if their are any newer miners that are more stable and efficient for this coin?

This question was not about mining, but about running a "full node". Actually, about starting one up, which takes some initial connections to seed the process.

cryptopia wallet:
Maintenance - New Zerocoin Protocol Exploit found. Wallet offline until a protocol fix is developed.

There is some kinda bug in the zerocoin library that affects PIVX, etc.
It appears that Zcash and derivatives are not at all related to this issue, and their wallets are working.
Sent this explanation to the Cryptopia Support.

Zerocash, the protocol that succeeded Zerocoin, is being developed into a full-fledged digital currency, Zcash.

Update on Recent Zerocoin Protocol Exploit & Patch Information
A new exploit was found in the original libzerocoin source code which led to a vulnerability in zPIV minting. Please see official announcement on the exploit situation here: https://pivx.org/from-the-dev-team/ To address this issue, we need every desktop wallet user’s help to reorg to the good chain without the exploit. If you are able to do this now, it would really help the network & block any new exploit attempts. If you prefer to wait for our final wallet release, then it is recommended ...
PIVX
From the Dev Team
Dear PIVX Community, We are fully aware of the recently mentioned libzerocoin exploit. The exploiter was able to create multiple proofs for a single mint and create multiple serials, which he/she t… (47 kB)

"As the fallout of yesterday's critical security issue in the Parity multisig wallet (which has now left between $150-$280 million dollars worth of Ether trapped inside affected wallets) continues. We now learn that PIVX and ZCoin (and any other coin that is leveraging a vulnerable version of the libzerocoin code) may be affected by a vulnerability too. PIVX who have recently rolled out the first PoS/Masternode implementation that uses the zerocoin protocol has run into a spot of bother with the new code. It turns out that the version of libzerocoin they are using is vulnerable to an exploit which can be used by an attacker to generate/spend more coins than they are supposed to."

@lokko ok, all the coins that sound even remoted related were probably put into maintnance to allow time for the team to investigate further, better safe then risk someone finding out and attempting to take advantage(bearbeitet)

[20:17]
idk, the libzerocoin is for adding privacy/annonymity features
"libzerocoin is a C++ library that implements the core cryptographic routines of the Zerocoin protocol. Zerocoin is a distributed anonymous cash extension for Bitcoin-type (hash chain based) protocols. The protocol uses zero knowledge proofs to implement a fully decentralized coin laundry."

Under these circumstances cryptopia acted exemplary

Gack I feel bad that I haven't gotten back to you on Windows build stuff in more detail, I am STILL on antibiotics and juggling too many things while sick.....I'll drop you build setup instructions, I need to dust off the version I'd written up before for zcash windows builds and update them
