Just wondering, why do people become vegan. Is this because of health, ethics or something else?

Can't you just research this yourself using Google? Some people do it for religious reasons, some people can't afford meat, some people are very empathetic towards other animals and some people simply have too many choices - that pretty much covers it. Oh wait, it can also be trendy.

This question is relevant to me as I just turned myself to be a vegan when January started. Though I am not a hundred percent vegan, I am really trying not to eat those meat. My only reason is just I realized how brutal it is to kill animals in order for me to eat their meat. I feel pity for those slaughtered animals. For some people, it would be just nothing but for me, their lives matter.

Okay. You can't be anything other than 100% and call yourself vegan. Strictly speaking, eggs, milk and honey are out. What are you eating that disquLifies you?

some of them just panic when they heard some news about how heart can just stop if they eat all the pork rinds while watching TV like a potato couch. First thing they do is to simply do some fitness gym exercises may be zumba and then started chatting with some old ladies and discover they are not eating meat due to the fitnesss instructors business which sells farm grasses for lunch as recommendation for their diet programs.

There are these two instances (first in January and the second just this February) that I have to eat from a fastfood since that was already late at night and I didn't have my dinner yet. Too bad, there were no available veggies in that fastfood.

Too bad, there were no available veggies in that fastfood. Yeah, it can be difficult to find vegan food when you're on-the-road. I know. I'm not vegan but a special someone near and dear to me is and sometimes finding food is tricky. McDonalds french fries are not vegan which actually shocked me. If you're going to be serious about it, you have to do some research. I found a web site that helps when we're travelling. Sometimes it's not possible to find a restaurant - even fast food - and then you have to get creative and make sure to read the labels. Many flat breads are vegan (stay away from naan bread) and you can find hummus or peanut butter almost anywhere (or nuts in general for that matter). We stopped at a little gas station/variety store while on a road trip last summer and ended up eating watermelon (I always carry a knife), apples with peanut butter and potato chips. If you have access to a microwave, there are vegan options in the frozen food section - Amy's is our go-to entrée while on-the-road but be careful, some of their entrees are vegetarian. Microwave-in-bag veggies are awesome too. Keep in mind that veganism is not just about food. Good luck.

I cannot become vegan. I like eating meat very often. We in the US during lunch break eat a lot of fast food like McDonalds and even the cheese burgers have meat. Life without meat I cannot understand how it would be. Meat is very good for our health and organism when eaten at the right amount. Vegans to me are not very smart persons.

I am not sure why people would start eating only vegetables and fruit. I am also interested what make people do that? Maybe it is that they think they will live healthier life if they don't eat animal products, or maybe it is because or religion, but i don't know any religion that prohibits eating all animal products. Some maybe won't eat because they love animals so much... It could be many things.

As per my case, it's about dealing with the fact of putting an end to a life of a defenseless animal just to satisfy my hunger. I admit I have lived my more-than-two-decades eating meat but when I realized how cruel (for me) it is, I tried my best not to eat meat again. As much as I could, I want to live in this principle from now on. I know it would be hard since I am just starting, there will always be an instance that I don't have any choice but to eat them, but as long as my love for animals is in me, I would always want to go vegetarian or even vegan.

Every man has his own story... You're right, some people become vegans because of diseases of the organism. Some simply because of moral convictions. Personally, I am not a vegan, and I can not give up meat

Personally, I am not a vegan, and I can not give up meat but not giving up meat is not the problem. It is the removal of inferior "human" beings. That is why some are vegan, to stop reproducing.

Okay, I can somewhat understand vegetarians, although man was eating animals as soon they learned to hunt and scavenge, but its best to avoid getting into discussion with them, they can be rather radical . But vegans... Really cant think of any good reason to become one, except to torture myself. Even now as carnivore I have problems thinking of my next meal and how and what to prepare. With less choices I would be hungry all the time probably.

My sister has a rule that she doesn't "eat anything with eyes or legs".
I don't see her much.
Well then I pity the blind, parapalegics who find themselves in her vicinity. Someone should warn them!

Aside that they want to eat healthy foods they are kind to animals and dont want to see sufferings thats why they are sacrificing to eat vegetables until the time comes that they are loving it and will never go back to eat meat.
