MiningUnited is literally the definition of a Ponzi scheme. How does so few people see this? Maybe playing EVE online gives you a more keen eye on scams?  Huh

My name was simply a play on "Blue Engineer" from Team Fortress. I am not affiliated with Microsoft or the Azure project.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

About the email from "Jimmy" to MiningUnited....

The email sounded it is the first time Jimmy emailed MU, and Jimmy asked MU to send all payout to SatoshiDice, but Jimmy did not give MU his wallet address?! How did MU know which address not to payout?

Even if Jimmy did give MU his address in another email. How can MU verify that address do belong to Jimmy?

So, I can just pick any random address from the MU website, email MU telling them to divert all the payouts to SD, and this poor random guy will not get his bitcoins back? Surely this can't be right!

Looking at the blockchain, there are simply too much bitcoins going to SD from MU addresses...

@blueblade123, that proves my point right?

Only things I can see is that it was:
registered by two different companies, GoDaddy for MiningUnited, and Namecheap.com for BTCcheap.
Different Cities for the contact information
Different Hosts for the websites
Different Registration dates.

Same website setup.

Now, while it could be the same person, I kinda doubt it. I mean if Bitcoininformation wanted to, he could copy and paste MiningUnited's website and create his own right now. And MiningUnited would still get blamed for running it.

Once again, your assumptions have you wrong.

BTCCheap.com is a blatant, obvious, copy of our website. We are in NO WAY related to this website, all the way down to the DNS's being different. The have copied ALL of our pages literally word-for-word. Shortly after the website went up this was sent to us:

Quote
"why yuu copy my website! you take down your website. it is mine."

Quote
Creation date: 07 May 2013 15:29:00
It was registered on May 7, almost a month after our website.

MiningUnited is NOT responsible for loss of BitCoin from using the copy website BTCCheap.com. We have already had several email's from people who used that 'scam copy' website saying that they have lost BitCoin after several days with no contact back from this copy website.

We were expecting copies of our website, but not EXACT copies word-for-word. Anything that is successful is copied. This is why we were hesitant to providing too many details of how we EXACTLY do what we do.

There will be many copies of Mining United, some will be legit, some will be scams in the end - it is just how it is. We will not be able to stop copy sites, but can beat them by offering the best service, proven most trusted, first, customer support, etc.

I saw a few posts on Reddit about miningunited.com and that it was legit but I do not see how it is possible, he would be better off just mining? Does anyone else think this seems really fishy? I put a BTC.02 order in to see how it would go.  Smiley

EDIT: It seems MiningUnited.com is a legit website (so far!), the guy (or girl) who running it is very responsive and they seems to be doing a good thing for Bitcoin. I have gotten all of my payouts so far 5+ BTC worth over the last month. They even refunded my payment that I sent on accident from a "not supported wallet" (coinbase.com). I am weary of sites like this but I have had a very pleasant experience so far using the mining service they provide. +1 from me to miningunited.com!

Just noticed an edit from the original poster for this thread.

The whole thing is kind of funny...

1. MiningUnited says, "Send us Bitcoins, and we'll send you more!"
2. MiningUnited got caught playing Satoshi Dice with investor funds, "A guy named Jimmy emailed us and said we could play with his coins! See, here's the email." LOL
3. MiningUnited has a clone web site, "That's some person ripping us off, see they sent us an email taunting us!" LMFAO

Good thing they have these nice little emails to 'prove' what 'they' are saying.

I'm pretty sure it's a single scammer here. A teenager, most likely.

Are you people retarded? And if you're greedy enough to go on the 'greater fool' principle, hoping YOU won't be 'in' when the gig is up, you'd really encourage this type of behavior for some profit? Further, as you get more confident, he WILL take you, and your losses will be for nothing. There's no telling when this ends, could be today, tomorrow, or next week. You are an idiot if you send this guy money.

Ponzi schemes are illegal. The owner of this site will be prosecuted, he'll be locked up until he's 18 (assumed he's under 18), and his parents will be highly upset since they'll be bankrupted.

When you suckers lose your money, I don't even want to hear any complaining, as you are retarded. Those who are taking profits early in this ponzi scheme may also be liable!! Clawbacks go after EVERYONE who profited from a Ponzi scheme.

Getting in bed with this guy is suicide. You think someone is going to just send you free bitcoins forever? Does that sound right to you? Some anonymous joe who, as you can see from this thread, has no integrity.

The only thing that truly upsets me is, seeing how stupid people are, it seems we should all just set up clones of this dumb ponzi scheme. Except for the fact that it's a felony. It doesn't matter if its Bitcoins or donkeys, a ponzi scheme is a ponzi scheme, and they are illegal. And, yes, the fed takes this kind of thing seriously. They may come beat down your door two years after you get out of this scheme, but your day will come.

Well it's been over a week. I've been withholding making this public since I know once I do I will get a payment.

Here you have it, a real long time member saying they don't pay.

https://blockchain.info/address/181n25vgaDfbUYkaynUEo4haCyutcq3v4i

I know this is a long con but now it seems it's also a short con.

And cue the payment with an excuse... 3.. 2.. 1...
