as you may already know the real one coin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=820302.0   has been out for a very long time and it is still very alive and kicking so why in the world would you use the same ticker as an excising coin?

So:

OneCoin - the mlm ponzi
1Coin - you just mentioned
and this onecoin...

So we have three one coins, maybe someone should make a twocoin or a threecoin instead

untill now there has only been a single 1coin that is alive and well , all the others that you mentioned have been scams of huge porportion and never lasted very long and were uncovered as scams very fast! im not sure if this is just another attempt by the same gents to relaunch the same stuff or not but all together this is still a very bad start for anything  and can  never have anything positive come of it untill it does alot of changing as in the first thing would be its ticker  "ONE" to anything else

Well its a good thing that the ticker is one of the easiest things to change in a coin, especially if it didn't even launch yet. I just doubt this "dev" will make that effort.

Strange though that the 1coin you mentioned picked the ticker ONE instead of 1COIN, my first thought was that numbers were not allowed in the ticker for some reason, but I see plenty of coins using it that also trade on exchanges: 1ST (first blood), 2GIVE (2give), C2 (coin2.1), NLC2 (no limit coin) to name a few.

So you can do everyone else a favor and stop crying about it. The coin you are talking might be alive, but it is not exactly kicking. It is not even on coinmarketcap.com. Am I supposed to browse throug every 20 satoshi, no buy order on some barely used exchange, half dead coin to check if the ticker is used already? It was easy to miss it, last post on btctalk was in october. So you dont have to be mean about it, it was not done intentionaly to hurt your silly coin.

Why the name?there's already an mlm coin named Onecoin,although I like the specs and the algos but people might mistke your coin to the mlm coin Onecoin,could have been better if we choose a unique name for your coin,but anyway goodluck

The name was picked intentionaly to make the scamers realize what a real cryptocurrency looks like, you can also consider it a marketing approach for this coin, I do not consider the ponzi OneCoin a cryptocurrency so it is a different product.

I never said this is a nice thing to do, but what they are doing with their ponzi is also not nice.

But like it is mentioned in the ANN, it is strongly encouraged that someone forks the coin. The name can be anything you want.

And also, like already mentioned, from my side this is only a social experiment, it is up to the community if this coin lives, changes its name, or whatever else...

I personaly do not care if it dies before the mainnet even starts.

This is a cryptocurrency (social) experiment with a brave controversial name inspired by the miracle of open source cryptocurrencies, annoying ponzi scammers, a big dose of curiosity about what will happen next and a wish to just confuse people a bit.

There is NO bussines plan, no roadmap, no hidden plan.

The developer will only be involved in providing the initial source code for a working coin (and compiling the windows wallet), everything else is left to the community: updating the code, developing other services like mining pools, faucets, translations, setting up slack (or similar chanels), getting the coin on an exchange, advertising, leaving the coin to die...etc

Yes, everything ready.

But since the rewards are 0 for the first 500 blocks you don't have to be in a hurry - you have 3 more days until rewards kick in.

If everything goes right, I'll publish everything shortly before that.
