Are cryptocurrency enthusiasts retarded?
Extremely gullible and overly idealistic (perhaps they watched too much Star Trek?), else they wouldn't think that government could totally disappear within 1 generation. The Dash marketing is quite impressive: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1804521.msg17983070#msg17983070https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1796575.msg17975908#msg17975908As for some of the shitcoins mentioned in this thread, clearly the speculators will buy any idealistic bullshit. The more idealistic nonsense it is, the more likely they will buy it. For example WeTrust is more idealistic bullshit without any realistic adoption case. As for both WeTrust and especially HumanIQ, there are all these new ICOs coming out for smart contracts running on Ethereum which want to target milllions and billions of users adoption. But Ethereum can't scale! Besides Ethereum can't scale. So anything built on Ethereum can't scale. Casper is fundamentally flawed and will never work.
Also putting large financial value into smart contracts has proven to be very insecure with the DAO attack. The more we proliferate these smart contracts, the more the attack surface grows. In HumanIQ's case, the founder and leader Alex Forte apparently isn't even a programmer. Other shitcoin bag holder cases are where speculators didn't understand the issues in the combined disciplines of math, economics, and technology, such as HODLcoin.

In crypto land, there are a variety of cryptocurrencies to choose from, since the inception of Bitcoin. Many of them provide innovative ways for us to transact in our daily lives. Some have advanced features and higher transaction throughtput than Bitcoin, and others are just cloned from BTC's codebase. While the majority of altcoins are pump and dump, there are very few of them which are worth holding. That is to say, we sometimes end up holding the bag when an specific altcoin massively declines in price. Nevertheless, I would like to know if you are a bagholder of altcoins, and which of them do you hold into your wallet? As for me, I hold plenty of altcoins like Casinocoin, Virtacoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash, Ethereum, Ambercoin, LiteDoge, Tekcoin, Stratis, MonetaryUnit, Teslacoin, and many more (the list is extensive) Due to the many altcoins I hold for a pretty long time, I consider myself as a bagholder. What about you? I know many altcoins that can do very well if there is a good demand and supply for this altcoins and they include Litecoin, Monero, Dash, UR, VC and STX. I hold Litecoin, Dogecoin, VC and now I'm trying to invest in Augmentors and RES too. I don't hold more than 2000 coins of any altcoin as they may be dumped anytime.

I had actually invested in many altcoins before but recently I found out that most of them are just dead coins and I was barely getting any profit. For now I only hold xmr as it has given me pretty good returns till now. I was holding eth from a year and finally sold everything at a profit of 4$ each coin.

What about you? actually, because of the bagholders altcoin became popular, which is also a big help to bitcoin too. Since every time they put a sell wall in the trading platform once its being sold will automatically will place at your bitcoin balance. For me I hold many altcoins such as, XMR, WBB, XEM, WAVES, MAID, ETH, PUTIN, ICOBID, VTY, CHESS, and others.

I'm currently now holding one alt-coin Byteball. It's algorithm is DAG. No block-size issues. I hodl a huge amount of bytes This has been one of the altcoins at first that gathered my attention. But nowadays, it is very expensive and hard to get grasp at least 1 GBYTE. Still, I think that up to this point it is great to consider investing into, since it may rise even more in price as time goes by. I had actually invested in many altcoins before but recently I found out that most of them are just dead coins and I was barely getting any profit. For now I only hold xmr as it has given me pretty good returns till now. I was holding eth from a year and finally sold everything at a profit of 4$ each coin.
Yeah. Crypto land is full of pump and dump altcoins with no promising development nor innovation. Some are good to make some profit, but most will leave you holding the bag when they experience a sharp decline in price. That is why, I think that those altcoins which are good for long term investing are mostly classic coins like Litecoin, and high marketcap ones like Ethereum, Monero, and Dash. Nevertheless, even though I'm holding a vast majority of altcoins, most of them come up from faucets so I wouldn't be loosing that much when they turn out to decrease in value.
