This we thought when the bigger bumps on the bitcoin chart and many adoption happen but it says non blockchain based smart contracts. Even BIP148 increasing of blocks size only but not anywhere states that blockchain based block segregation.

Yes.... we have seen obituary notices previously also, but this is the worst crisis ever happened with Bitcoins in its short history. Even the Mt Gox scandal of 2014, and the recent Bithumb hack pales in comparison.
