i'm looking into hardware wallets. i dig the look of the nano s but i can't find much info about importing the private keys from my existing paper wallets.
is this possible or does everything depend on generating a brand new setup when you get it going?
i'm assuming you can't as the seed won't cover them but it would be good to have it confirmed.
You have to set up the Nano S with the Chrome bitcoin app, which does not have the ability to sweep private keys. Sweep the private keys to a wallet like Blockchain.info then send to an address in your newly set up Nano S.
If you know your way around Electrum once your Nano S is set up you can start Electrum and have it connect to your Nano S then sweep keys directly from paper wallet into Electrum. Funds will go to a new address in your Nano S.
I am digging using my Nano S with Electrum as I have dynamic fees enabled and also replace by fee. When I send if somehow Electrum sets the fee too low I can click on the replaceable transaction and bump the fee. Right now with congestion that is a good option to have, and I always set the fee slider in Electrum to HIGH.
