UN drugs board slams killings in Philippines

They were already told even before Duterte was still running for president. After Duterte won the presidency he also warned many many times to stop doing it or even surrender or they will suffer the consequences. Thousands surrendered and weren't killed. Those stupid idiots who think they are still well protected by the narco-politics were either arrested or dead. But most of those got killed were believed to be killed by those on top to avoid giving very important information.

I don't support the massacre of drug dealers in Philippines. But in certain cases, it is difficult to oppose such measures. I know an instance in which a major drug lord was arrested in my country. He came out on bail in less than a week, and within the next 24 hours, two individuals who had testified against him were shot dead in broad daylight.

That is to silence and show message that they can't mess with the drug lord. Or if we put in this way, if someone you know or someone you love has been a victim of a crime and the suspect is a drug addict or a drug user and the reason he did the crime is because he is under the influence of drugs. So its difficult for you not to condemn those people being killed because they are suspect or they are an addict.

Possibly because they have an addiction, which is globally recognized as a mental disorder, and cannot quit? We are literally talking about an additive drug here. Most poor dealers, use the drugs themselves and sell to support their habit. Help these people, don't kill them like dogs.

Have some empathy, love.  You seem inhuman with your lack of love for your fellow.

The issue I have about this is that, the government has a good motive but the way its going about it is what is causing uproar over the globe. Its true that this issue of drugs in the Philippines has turn to a social endemic but random killings wont stop it rather it will attract negative attention from where it does not matter as what is being witnessed now...

Agree. Big thanks to the media the Philippines is now the center of attention among human rights organizations around the globe, particularly painting the country's government itself as a violator of human rights. Couple it with an unflinching president who does not back down in spewing cuss after cuss  to his detractors, we are now becoming the apple of the eye of more and more critics. But of course that's just his colorful way of saying shut the f*ck up and mind your own business.

The government should first open de-addiction centers before killing these people. Or at least they should provide substitute drugs such as methadone to the addicts.

Easier said than done.  The Philippines already have rehabilitation centers.  And it is easy to say to have empathy, do not kill or show them love instead of killing them.  Their already out of their minds.  News here in the Philippines before were like:  grandmother killed by his grandson who is a drug addict, grandmother raped by drug addicts, a 6 month old infant was raped by her father who said to be drug addict.  It always been like that before.  And we are almost used to it.  I prefer not to go outside at night because of these drug addicts.  When you are a drug addict you do not already knew what is going in your mind.  You can kill your father, mother, chikdren, innocent people.  Perhaps you do not have these problem in your country.  I personally feel safer now that he is our President.  I trust now our policemen.  When innocent people werenkilled, no UN officials ever expressed their concern.  When these criminals were killed they suddenly came out and asked our government to stop.  May I suggest that maybe, all the drug addicts that were caught be placed or adopt by these emphatizers.  Let us see.

President Duterte is the answer to the increasing used of prohibited drugs and crimes in the Philippines. If no Duterte then who can combat those kinds of problems? Duterte is a man of action he do what he says and its happening now.

I appreciate him for his tough stance. But if he loses power, then it is going to be bad for him. His opponents will accuse him of mass murder and they will put him behind bars for the rest of his life. He should be really careful about his future plans.
