Hello,

I did an open order at $1230 on 3/03 but it was not executed when btc drop to this price the 4/04 (on bitstamp)

I would like to know if this happen often ? Maybe bots have trouble when its a price only a few seconds ? Or something else i don't get.

Thanks for help.

Looking at chart https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd
Price have touched 1230$ exactly but i think your orders were piled after another order at same price level. And there may not have been enough sells to execute your orders.

Thank you for your answer.

Yes it was exactly 1230$. Not a big deal but i try to understand.

If my order come after another one does it mean they did their order before me ? Or is it random ?

Another reason could it be that bigger customers come first ?

(of course i have open a ticket on bitstamp and will see what they tell me, but I'm not sure they will say the true).

as ~Bitcoin~ explained when you open up an order it goes into a queue which is like a line of customers one after another. in your case you got unlucky because there were more people (orders if front of you).

it looked like this:
in the orderbook:
Vol=900BTC     price=$1230.0

in reality:
1. 1BTC price=$1230.0
2. 25BTC price=$1230.0
3. 0.1BTC price=$1230.0
4. 0.9BTC price=$1230.0
5. 100BTC price=$1230.0
6. 693BTC price=$1230.0
7. 10BTC price=$1230.0
8. your order price=$1230.0
9. 20BTC price=$1230.0

multiple trades sold bitcoin to this orderbook in total of 820BTC in the queue orders from 1 to end of 6 were filled and orders from 7 to the end remained.
