any chance that money will return to sender ??
The bitcoins in a transaction that was never confirmed will get eventually back to the originating input addresses.
But somehow I feel there is more to this story.
Unconfirmed transaction should still show up in the block explorer and because your transaction does not I can think of the following:
- you changed the screenshot because you do not want us to know the details
(fair enough but we can't help you much in this case)
- the transaction was never broadcastet to the bitcoin mainnet
(did you try to connect to another electrum node as written earlier?)
I'm thinking more in the lines of an invalid tx, that uses an output that are no longer in the utxo set:
The tx from the screenshot is using the output from tx 4db... to address 1Fp3v6k5jCm3r1pNsetVQkLsVx9D4pkdbu as an input
https://blockchain.info/address/1Fp3v6k5jCm3r1pNsetVQkLsVx9D4pkdbuAs you can see on blockchain.info, this output was already used as an input to create transaction 75d34f320f04cefbe4f5ae12b5c63000d44a22f777fc98514bd645f6638f1ac6 (this tx was confirmed, hence the output must have been removed from the utxo set)
In other words, this address has no unspent outputs to use, hence transaction 298613243fe9f1f98e3c08ad8aa4a1b8b46ae43d1aa71f72069b6d2534466fda could never be valid.
This means that, eventough the tx might have been created and signed, it would have been rejected when the OP tried to broadcast it.
OP, might i suggest to:
- use the latest electrum version
- restart the wallet client
- switch servers
- worst case scenario, restore your wallet from seed.
The transaction won't magically appear, but i hope your history will be cleaned up, and you'll have a clearer overview as to why this transaction can not work
See if this solves the confusion
