What the fuck is bitcoins? lol, I really dunnp:S
Bitcoin P2P Digital Currency Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer digital currency created in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto. Peer-to-peer means that no central authority issues new money or manages transactions—these tasks are carried out collectively by the network. It is also the name of the open source software designed in order to use this currency. From bitcoin.org. You really should know this. >.>

Thanks for the warning. I will make use of the wallet encryption linkage you posted as I see you have an outstanding reputation.

Lots of legitimate things are getting marked as trojans now because bitcoins are being associated with malware.

the new bitcoin client encrypts the wallet so even if hackers get it, they wont be able to use it, no? unless obviously there's a also a keylogger capturing your passphrase...

Another option to the wallet is to transfer your bitcoins to a secure trading site such as TradeHill. We offer our own personal security to keep your BTC safe. To date we have never had a breach of this system and given our continually updating security we believe that this will remain the case.

thanks for the info. hmm i should encrypt my wallet even don't have any balance yet If somebody gets your keys today, when your wallet is empty, he will be able to get your money in the future, when it won't. So yes, you have to protect your wallet all the time, even when empty.

Is it not enough to use the build-in encryption in the bitcoin client?

As far as I have read, encrypting your wallet when not in use is also a good idea. You can use PGP free software for that means.

i run a fully encrypted operating system and all storage drives via truecrypt
obviously i am not secure at all.. lol basically no matter how you secure something there is always a chance of it being stolen or destroyed
i think that when you have enough bitcoins to be worth serious money you should follow the age old rule: dont put all your eggs in one basket. make several secured wallets and distribute the bitcoins around them, encrypt them, and please please back them up!! a little bit of data corruption to do with anything encrypted can quickly become a nightmare!

Has anyone been hit by this yet? That would really suck to lose all your BTC.
