HELLO EVERYONE!

I am very frustrated with guiminer because all it picks up is my cpu (intel core 2 duo 3.16ghz) which barely gets a 1.5mhash/s....

I am using windows xp 32 bit and i have a ati radeon hd 5770 id like to mine bitcoins with it....

How can i get guiminer to recognize my GPU!?!?!?

Some please help and make me a happy person

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Is your monitor connected to the card? I know that cgminer and reaper requires the card to be connected to the monitor for it to be recognized, so probably the same applies to GUIminer?

Can you control the card through Catalyst or MSI Afterburner? Besides having to have the card connected to a monitor, another problem I had was that each time guiminer is started it defaults to the graphics on the motherboard.

Dude, you have to remove the HydraVision drivers if you installed them.

Best solution - get AMD Catalyst Uninstall Utility, uninstall all drivers.

Then install the new ones, but when asked check "custom" not "express" and install all except HydraVision.

Then (if not installed already) install the SDK.

I couldn't run the program, but that solved the problem.

I had a similar problem and uninstalled the Catalyst software but kept the actual driver (9.12 i think) and the SDK.  It worked after that.
