Due to a glitch in the system, the SatoshiSlot game was not visible since yesterday. This problem has been corrected so the game can be played again!

So what is going on exactly here? Did you guys rebrand or did you guys sell Satoshidice to someone else and just moved on to another site? Because it looks like Satoshidice is pointing to a different gambling site. Are you the owner of that gambling site also?

Simply put Satoshidice sold the domain to bitcoinvideocasino and the game and software to Megadice
Oh this clears my mind now. Im a bit curius before about mega dice because the UI looks familiar to me.
Btw 0.9% is a bit good for gamblers like us. Lowering the houseedge attracts more gamblers and having a promotion with a good bounty too.
Satoshidice and Megadice has the same operator. So no, Satoshidice did not sell the game and software to Megadice.

Basically Satoshidice, Megadice, Satoshislots and Bitcoinvideocasino are all under some corporation and all have the exact same owner.

Looking at the WHOIS for Satoshidice it doesn't look like it was sold or transfered to a new owner recently.

The developer really needs to clear up which sites are under their control or not because I am not going to be surprised if someone starts calling all their website "Potential Exit Scams".

There needs to be some clarity.

Why a publicly visible exist scam, if they can hidden scam?

Their licensor Curacao eGaming does not regulate or control anything. They can manipulate whatever they like, someone could win a 303 BTC slot again, etc.!

To redirect the satoshidice.com domain to the hide the operator website bitcoinvideocasino is indeed a great business decision. Applaud, applaud satoshidice!

This will bring back trust to Megasca.. ehh ..dice. You should get the title "Operator of the year!"

Megadice currently owns everything else

There needs to be some clarity.

I agree. The ex-owners are really bad at that, they did not notify anyone regarding an ownership change. The Megadice team seems to be better.

MegaDice Cold Storage (NOT FOR DEPOSITING)
~700 BTC Hash: 18e5jpfn9zo9GQov1Ks9Pzh6Yam2SvFqqo
Signed Message: Megadice Cold Storage signed 2017-03-18
Signature: ILVslvf+MouO+4PZLPmI715+5NKIcra+ZkbYQ90peibQEuutggAxTiU4sUKV75msXxOpcH3+VBaTAyg9HLQkOto=

Signature verifies.

That is an old Satoshidice cold storage address!!

I am adding a negative feedback till you explain what is going on. Did the ownership change? Do the Megadice team and the old Satoshidice team have people in common? What is your relations with Bitcoinvideocasino? Who owns Satoshi Circle? If the ownership did change, how was the player account details transferred? How was the invested funds managed? Why were they not made known to players and investors? Why are you using the old cold wallet address if you are the 'new' owners? (or did you have their private keys all along? Tongue)

Quoting for reference:
Hey adaseb! MegaDice is a separate entity to SatoshiDice. The owners of SatoshiDice.com had other plans for SatoshiDice.com. We are not owner of the gambling site it points to.

I might be wrong because the website I used to lookup the WHOIS info (whois.net) might not of been updated recently.

However using https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=SATOSHIDICE.COM

Points out that Updated Date: 2017-04-06

Comparing the two infos the nameservers were indeed changed so I was wrong before and looks like the domain name got sold privately.

Old nameservers

Name Server: HOST314419.MARS.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM

An email was sent to all players and bankroll backers notifying them all satoshidice accounts were moving to megadice.com

Quote

Cold storage and accounts were moved and are now exclusively managed by MegaDice. The old cold storage is used because we want to demonstrate that the accounts and cold storage remain uncompromised.

I think you are confused here:

MegaDice claims that the owner of the satoshidice.com domain changed, but the key question is did the owner of the operator Rakki N.V. change?

If MegaDice is a separate entity to SatoshiDice, why would they use the operator of SatoshiDice? This does not make any sense!

If you are a separate entity, if you want to get rid of the failed $12 million brand SatoshiDice, you will not use the same operator!

To redirect the satoshidice.com domain to the hide the operator website bitcoinvideocasino is indeed a great business decision. Applaud, applaud satoshidice!

This will bring back trust to Megasc ..ehh.. dice. You should get the title "Operator of the year!"

You ask me to back which claims? Everyone can see that satoshidice.com redirects to bitcoinvideocasino and the rest of my statement was ironically!

Thank you for explaining.

Quote

The email did not mention an ownership change of Satoshidice. If a website merely rebrands itself, it is not a cause of concern, but not so if it is sold to a third party.
You did not inform players or investors about the sale or ownership change.

How do you know if the persons who were in the Satoshidice team but are not in your team do not have a copy of compromising sensitive data of passwords, player credentials, seeds, private keys of your wallets including of cold storage?

Thanks for informing us.
Due to the above discussion I was worried about my account on your site but now I saw that everything is clarified by you and I hope you will continue to work for the success of your brand and will make it famous all over the gambling world.

The old cold storage is used because we want to demonstrate that the accounts and cold storage remain uncompromised.

That seems like a worst of all worlds approach. If something happens to the cold storage, it won't be possible to know who was at fault. I can't imagine why either the new or old owners would agree to that.

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

I think the keys to the cold storage address has been transferred to the new owner that is why they do not feel any fear of something happen to the funds stored to the address. By the way it is a big risk from them. Anyway now we hope they will continue their journey and will start to create the name as it was before with their new brand.

I think the keys to the cold storage address has been transferred to the new owner that is why they do not feel any fear of something happen to the funds stored to the address.

Sure, but the problem is they can't be sure that the old owners don't retain a copy (e.g. have the backup seed somewhere etc.) [1]. If something did happen to their cold storage, they'd really have no way of knowing if they got screwed by the old owners (or some malicious software) or something. And like wise, the old owner knows if there's a problem they will always be suspected.

If I was either the seller or the buyer in this situation, I can't imagine ever agreeing to such terms.

[1] It's possible some hardware wallets with software attestation like ledger could provide the ability to check if the private key has ever been exported or not. But that's not really realistic, as I don't believe they have this feature and it's not like satoshidice would've been running a cold wallet without a backup.

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.
