I think the keys to the cold storage address has been transferred to the new owner that is why they do not feel any fear of something happen to the funds stored to the address.

They should change the cold wallet as soon as they have access to the private key.
I wonder if the guy who handled the cold storage address for Satoshidice is now employed by (or owns) Megadice.

MegaDice claims that the owner of the satoshidice.com domain changed, but the key question is did the owner of the operator Rakki N.V. change?

If MegaDice is a separate entity to SatoshiDice, why would they use the operator of SatoshiDice? This does not make any sense!

I don't know. I think the ownership of Rakki N.V. changed.
If there are 1000 people, there are 1000 thoughts. How exactly does 1000 thoughts help us to determine what is going on?

If you want to get rid of SatoshiDice, you will not use the same company!

So OP can see there is some discussion going on and hopefully clear things up.

Contrary to what you may think, Satoshidice is a very valuable brand.
This is certainly not because they 'want to get rid of SatoshiDice'.

You ask me to back which claims? Everyone can see that satoshidice.com redirects to bitcoinvideocasino and the rest of my statement was ironically!

Yes, but Megadice doesn't redirect to bitcoinvideocasino. (Even then, if my website redirects to Google, I don't get to be Larry Page. Grin)
I never claimed that megadice.com redirect to bitcoinvideocasino!

I am not sure I understand this correct:
Quote
To redirect the satoshidice.com domain to the hide the operator website bitcoinvideocasino is indeed a great business decision. Applaud, applaud satoshidice!
Did you mean satoshidice.com is operated by bitcoinvideocasino??

Until we get some input, we can take Megadice, satoshidice.com and bitcoinvideocasino to be different entities.

Quote
Comparing the two infos the nameservers were indeed changed so I was wrong before and looks like the domain name got sold privately.

Old nameservers

Name Server: HOST314419.EARTH.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM
Name Server: HOST314419.MARS.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM
Name Server: HOST314419.MERCURY.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM
Name Server: HOST314419.VENUS.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM

New

ray.ns.cloudflare.com
sara.ns.cloudflare.com

I see. That makes sense.
How is changing the domain name server to anonym cloudflare related to see who is the owner of the domain?

If the domain name server did not change, it makes it probable that the sale did not take place. (Right?)

The ownership of Rakki N.V. did not change!

Source?

Is it possible that Rakki N.V. never owned satoshidice.com domain in the first place? The domain leased out to Rakki N.V. who hosted the game with Satoshidice brand. Later the owner of the domain gets a better deal from bitcoinvideocasino, and Rakki N.V. moves out to a new domain with Megadice brand?

The minimum amount is 0.01. Commission is charged on sundays (they claim), and this does not go into the bankroll but rather to a pool of moey from with they can pay their costs, get rich etc.

This is the best theory so far. It explains that there was no need to move the cold storage too.

This theory is absolute nonsense, because the operator of the website needs to have access to the cold storage to pay larger wins and not the domain holder who lease it to the operator. Hence, an absolute brain wash theory! Roll Eyes

Looking at
18e5jpfn9zo9GQov1Ks9Pzh6Yam2SvFqqo

It doesn't look like this is a multi-sig type of address. So it only has 1 private key and since it was used in the past by Satoshidice (old owners) and now its being used by Megadice (new owners) can't the old owner simply withdraw the BTC at any time of his choosing?

Why not just move everything to a new wallet?

Yes, the owner and operator of the satoshidice.com domain must have handled the cold storage, because the operator has to pay possible huge winnings from the cold storage, because the operator has to refill the hot wallet from the cold storage, if required!

- If A) is owner of the satoshidice.com domain and leases it to the operator B), for what did operator B) pay $12 million?

- If operator B) leased the satoshidice.com domain, why would they invest time and money to make a foreign satoshidice.com domain more valuable?

- O.k., in the case of SatoshiDice, the operator destroyed the value of the domain. Why would the owner of satoshidice.com lease his very valuable domain to a foreign operator who then destroy the value of his domain?

Despite of all the above mentioned points, it does not make any sense that an online gambling operation lease a domain from a third party. The operator of a website would either buy the domain or pay for the redirected traffic to his own domain.

Contrary to what you may think, Satoshidice is a very valuable brand.
This is certainly not because they 'want to get rid of SatoshiDice'.
How much is the value of the brand SatoshiDice? The most valuable part of a website only operation is the traffic to the domain and not the brand itself.

Why want Rakki N.V. no longer use the "very valuable brand" SatoshiDice and instead decided to put a lot of money and time in to introduce the brand MegaDice?

Are you able to understand that the brand SatoshiDice is gone? Only the domain satoshidice.com is left which redirect to bitcoinvideocasino.

By Satoshidice brand I mean the connected satoshidice.com domain privilege. Sorry for the confusion there.

Rakki N.V. no longer uses the "very valuable brand" because Rakki N.V. no longer owns the satoshidice.com domain because "The owners of SatoshiDice.com had other plans for SatoshiDice.com".

Quote
Until we get some input, we can take Megadice, satoshidice.com and bitcoinvideocasino to be different entities.
SatoshDice and MegaDice has the same operator and is therefore the same entity!

I mean satoshidice.com not SatoshiDice.

Quote
If MegaDice is a new operator/entity and they want to take over the satoshidice.com domain, then they logically want to redirect satoshidice.com to megadice.com

If MegaDice finds it expensive to take over the satoshidice.com domain?

Quote
If MegaDice is a new operator/entity and only want to use the SatoshiDice software but not the domain, they would create their own company to run MegaDice. They also would not want to use staff from SatoshiDice who destroyed the brand.

There is no reason why they should not use the same company or hire the same staff.

Quote
If MegaDice is SatoshiDice, then everything makes sense:

There are quite significant changes that support the possibility of a change in ownership/management.

Quote

http://www.curacao-chamber.cw/services/registry/search-company

But how did you establish the ownership did not change Huh

No, most part of the $12 million SatoshiDice purchase was paid for the traffic to the domain satoshidice.com. Therefore, we can exclude that the domain was leased.

If the brand SatoshiDice would be the valuable part, then bitcoinvideocasino would have changed its name to SatoshiDice instead of forwarding the traffic from the domain satoshidice.com to bitcoinvideocasino.

That makes absolutely no sense lol!

Domain leasing is possible.

Did the ownership change?
Yes. SatoshiDice.com owner had other plans for the domain.

Implies someone else owns satoshidice.com at the moment.

Quote
Quote
Do the Megadice team and the old Satoshidice team have people in common?
Yes. The megadice team have hired some members as well as additional personel to improve player experience and support

Implies some Megadice staff were Satoshidice staff. That is expected.

Quote
Quote
What is your relations with Bitcoinvideocasino?
No relation. MegaDice has no connection with Bitcoinvideocasino

Implies someone else owns satoshidice.com at the moment.

Quote
Quote
Who owns Satoshi Circle?
This is for the owner of Satoshi Circle to declare. However, we can say MegaDice are not involved in Satoshi Circle.

Implies someone else owns Satoshi Circle at the moment.

Quote
Quote
Why are you using the old cold wallet address if you are the 'new' owners? (or did you have their private keys all along? )
Cold storage and accounts were moved and are now exclusively managed by MegaDice. The old cold storage is used because we want to demonstrate that the accounts and cold storage remain uncompromised.

Implies the person who had control of private key of the Satoshidice cold storage is part of Megadice (or the team is stupid)

Quote
Hey adaseb! MegaDice is a separate entity to SatoshiDice.

Implies there was some change in ownership of the game software.

A different but possible theory:

Derik owns the satoshdice.com domain and the Satoshidice game through Rakki N.V. and also controls the cold storage.
Derik needs $$$.
Derik sells the domain to bitcoinvideocasino which plans to gradually rebrand itself to use satoshidice.com
Derik sells part of his stake in Rakki N.V. to Merick (who wants to turn Satoshidice to a competitive casino with 0.9% dice and many slot games) while retaining the cold storage keys.
Derik and Merick launches Megadice.

You want to brain wash that different entities use the same company and stuff?

Based on what is it a different entity then?

In online gaming, everything is focused on the operator, the license, managing director, etc. Same operator = same entity, simple!

I am pretty sure the domain is more valuable in itself since the site. So whatever site Satoshidice.com is forwarded to will automatically get free traffic since its well known since 2012 or so.

It was even featured in a few Bitcoin documentaries because it was known as being the largest Bitcoin site to ever go on sale.

Of course was the domain the more valuable part! For what would they have paid $12 million if the domain was leased?

But unfortunately, the domain was the more valuable part, as it is in free fall recently!

I can’t believe these are going on with satoshidice brand.

Considering how this was Vorhees’s baby and brought in so much Money and even correlated with blockchain.info in the website.

Considering it was sold for a huge amount and the the new owners was alright at the beginning (however I was only interested like in the first couple of days). It is such a shame these are going on with such a great quality brand once upon a time.

Honestly my guess is that the owner that bought Satoshidice is some early early bitcoin adopter who probably owns like 100,000 BTC and he bought it purely for fun. Had no incentive to build it up to compete with sites like PrimeDice and just let it go downhill.

Now sold the domain for fractions of what he paid for.

I am not able to understand your chart:

What does current profit mean? Profit for the current week or profit since launch?

Also, some investors made a profit and others lost. Is this because investors can now select between dice and slot investment?

Curiously, the losses are all very small and profits are huge, but statistically the losses could be also huge and profits small within a short period!

This is satoshidice.com rebranded?

Satoshidice.com is now forwarded to bitcoinvideocasino.com/dice. Am I missing something?

As of now, satoshidice.com (domain) has nothing to do with megadice.

We don't know if Megadice is Satoshidice rebranded or Satoshdice game software sold.

Note that Megadice uses the same Satoshidice cold storage.
