SaltBeShare When coins wasn´t in the world the salt was the money, the word Salary came from salt.
It can be a good name to start a "no coin" value.
1LP97yDDYu4GB7XDXcPBCci7NrP1d2oqun
Other option could be SaltBarter.

A mix of PPCoin and Freicoin? Will you make it Scrypt based (ASiC-proof)? That would make it really interesting.
I like the word "credit" - it's used in futuristic science fiction and games for representing money. For instance:
Netcredit (NTC) would be really cool.
If you don't like the word "credit" because of its association with loans, then what about:
Netcurrency or Netcur (still NTC)

Qashy It took me a while, but now i am pretty satisfied with what i came up. Firstly i somehow decided that the name has to start with Q. And then bam! Qashy. Sounds cool, should be memorable and (best of all) resembles the word "cash" (which is probably the most common word that comes to our mind when thinking about money). Whatya say?

I propose "Reserve". The word has many applications, but one of them has to do with money and banks.

In violation of the rules, here are some suggestions.
Like "YouTube" to indicate crowd activity: YouMoney YouCash YouCoins
Or spell it with a z to make it a simple brand name: Coinz Billz Moniez Fundz Dollaz
I'd probably go with YouCash if it was my dollar. It's simple, safe-looking, businesslike, and occupies a distinct niche. The name even explains itself better than "Bitcoin".

Kintsugi or Kintz Kints Xint if you want to have it shorter. From wikipedia: Kintsugi (金継ぎ?) (Japanese: golden joinery) or Kintsukuroi (金繕い?) (Japanese: golden repair) is the Japanese art of fixing broken pottery with a lacquer resin sprinkled with powdered gold.[1][2] Kintsugi may have originated when shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa sent a damaged Chinese tea bowl back to China for repairs in the late 15th century. When it was returned repaired with ugly metal staples, it may have prompted Japanese craftsmen to look for a more aesthetic means of repair. Collectors became so enamored of the new art that some were accused of deliberately smashing valuable pottery so it could be repaired with the gold seams of kintsugi.[1] Kintsugi became closely associated with the ceramic utensils used for Japanese tea ceremony.[2] Don't know if I'm breaking the rules because it somehow still references gold...

Well... All contest's rules are void from now. Speaking of tributes : Can we call TrueCoin UMM ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulrike_MeinhofOf course we need good cover for this. For what UMM might stand for ? Or maybe we can tribute to ( in the name of) some other famous innovative human (or alien) ? Call your candidates and related "name". So you ask people to brainstorm a name and offer a reward, then just throw that away... Good luck getting people to take your coin seriously BTW, your name idea sucks.
