I think before you start investing your money in to ICO, you need to look at team which create this, do they have enough of investments and some typical things like there site, what are the reason why do they create this, and what they are expecting after all of the process. Also you can look at coinmarket and check there volume, or better to spend your money at something familiar, Ethereum or Monero Dash

At the ICO stage you generally cannot tell much if anything about how the development is going from their github or other code repository (assuming open source) so IMO its a bit more like gambling than investing at the ICO stage.

The dev team is the most important thing about the ICO, not the actual coin. The coin code can be changed, the dev team typically wont be.

This is important, most coins are similar to each other and there is no way to distinguish whether a coin is going to be successful or not but after some time and the continued development by the developers you will have an idea if the coin has a future or not.

Well you need to bear in mind that ICO is a dangerous investment, you need to prepare for the consequences, to invest in  ICO you need to do research in the feature that the coin provide then you need to do some research in the developer team and see the enthusiasm from other investor, then go to their official website and see how they convince other to invest in their coin

You should look at the management team of the ICO. Are there any known scammers on the project? Are the team members respectable in our community? What kinds of tech skills does the team have? These are just somethings to look at.

There are a lot to look for like,who are the people behind the project do they have past successful project in the past,does the ico had an escrow and the most important of all,are the projects for real and the roadmap reachable within the time frame due all diligence it's your money that is going to waste if you got scam.

I don’t invest on ICO’s at all, the Money goes to devs to make more Money and we are holding a bag of coin we don’t know for sure how much it will cost, if more than ICO price we bought or less, its too risky for me to even consider investing small amount to be honest.

Yes, this is the problem with ICO’s there is no way to determine if an ICO is going to be successful at all just looking at the project, most of the time what determines if a  coin is going to be successful or not is the continued development job done by the devs of the coin.

Number one to watch for is the owners of Coin and its board. If the founder and members has no photo to show off something is fishy..

Next, the goal of coin.. Look for its business model.

Wait a min.  I am confused.  Most coins don't show the team's faces.  Not quite sure why, but if you all say they should, is there a real reason not to?   Does it ad more assurance if they do?
