Hi, I'm from Mississauga and new to Bitcoins/crypto currency. Having alot of fun so far! Maybe one day I'll be at one of those meets. First I think I should get myself an ASIC. Love those little USB miners, they look so cool. Yet I hear run so hot.

Waterloo, ON Bitcoiner here (now that this thread is about Canada in general Smiley). Our community is doing pretty well for itself on the Bitcoin front; already on http://coinmap.org, there are 8 venues accepting Bitcoin in KW (I have yet to go to any personally though). How are other communities (large or small) doing?

It brings me pride that Toronto is represented in the Bitcoin community. Rest assured as mayor I have established a solid foundation for the future of our city.

http://ca.bitcoinfoundation.org/bitcoin-from-not-money-to-bankers-boogeyman/

Recently, the Bank of Canada has stepped up its anti-Bitcoin crusade. The Harper government has shown indifference at best and sometimes even outright hostility towards Bitcoin. Please keep that in mind next time you enter the polls.

This is excellent news! However, I feel that the damage may already have been done—I have felt a distinct lack of innovation from Canada recently.
