Brilliant.  Undecided

I can still wait but I need the coins to be in my hands on the 9th of July really.... what are my chances?

Here's another offer for everyone:

You can swap a 1 BTC coins for 2 x 0.5 BTC coins at extra charge of BTC 0.15.

I realize that might not be a solution for most of you, but maybe it can be an option for some.

Please note that we're taking a risk with this because we're sending out coins we have no payment for. I think it's small enough, though and we just want to do what's possible to calm the waves.

EDIT: oh, since it may not be obvious: if you do this for all the 1 BTC coins (or pay extra shipping), we can ship within 24 hours.

That works for me.
Just let me know where/how to pay.

Thanks for being a really, really helpful guy here. I have responded to your email and will be accepting this opportunity just so they can be pretty much guaranteed with me by the 9th. Just need info about the certificates/cases and an address to pay

I've thought about it some more, and I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to request a refund, DeaDTerra. Although I would like a Casascius coin, the wait has been - put frankly - unacceptable.

While it saddens me to request a refund, I think it is the right thing to do. Do you still have my BTC address or would you like me to send it to you in a PM?

Thanks,
/Untitled

Hi!
This is completely understandable, I have been unable to provide what I promised and I completely understand that you want a refund.
Pm me your order ID and your Bitcoin address, and I will send you the BTC.

Hey guys,

I have some bad news:

DeadTerra was unable to send the coins and will be travelling until Sunday.

We had a chat and he explained why he failed to send: he's been to three different places and each of the services told him either they couldn't insure a package with such high value or since the package contained coins, it couldn't be sent at all.

Quote from: DeadTerra
It is insane for such a civilized country with good infrastructure to have such a fucked up system...

Quote from: DeadTerra
I thought I hated banks but damn I think I hate the postal service even more.

I know this is rather unacceptable given the time you guys have already waited and I'm really sorry about this situation.

I believe he is well-intentioned and not trying to rip us off in any way.

DeadTerras plan now is to send the coins on Monday next week. If necessary he will split the coins into as many packages as necessary to remain below the insurance treshold. He will also talk to other shipping services.

We also investigated the option of me travelling to Sweden and picking the coins up at someones place he could've brought them to, but unfortunately flights are prohibitively expensive (€500+) and the drive is just too long (800 km one way).

It seems there's nothing I can do at this point.

There is of course the option for me to cancel the deal with DeadTerra at this point (he failed to ship today, which was part of the agreement), but I don't think this is going to help anyone.

Again, I'm really sorry, but it looks like the wait will now be even longer.

Unfortunately I don't have 1 BTC coins myself, otherwise we would've just supplied you guys from our stock in the meantime. If anyone is in dire need of 0.5 BTC coin(s) and willing to pay an extra 0.0875 BTC for additional shipping cost, we can offer to send 0.5 BTC coin(s) from our stock beforehand. (everyone on the list has ordered at least one 1 BTC coin)

EDIT: I'm also going to email this, just so you know you don't have to read it twice.

I am terrible sorry about all this,
I have failed to perform as promised and failed to deliver.

I will still try to send off the packages today now trying with private shipping options, DHL, FedEx etc instead of the swedish postal service.
If you are unwilling to wait any longer for your coins then request a refund.

True ^^
I think I have found a solution.
I will have to split the coins up in five different packages,
then send it with REK post, which insures up to 10 k SEK, it is also trackable.
A bit of a hassle and quite expensive but it seems like it is the only thing that will do the job.

It will likely be next week then, because postal service doesn't deliver in our are on saturdays.

that's ambitious. 3 days means friday earliest, more likely monday or tuesday.

then we will act very fast:

  • prepare shipments w/o upgrades
  • produce proof-of-age certificates
  • make run to postal office and photo printer to print certificates
  • prepare remaining shipments (with certificates)
  • make run to postal office

this will take 1 or 2 days depending on when during the day the packages arrive.

according to previous measurements shipment to end customers can take 1-5 business days (most of europe, except italy), 5-12 business days (US, italy, israel), 15-20 business days (australia)
