With such a low float and low price this coin is a bargain. Once the ANON feature "STYX" is announced and implemented VIA will rocket. With only 20Mil O/S and tons of development this should be trading a ~$.50, IMO.

Hey guys, I'm doing some basic research on VIA (took a brief look at the WP and some other resources).
I have a few questions: A) It looks like there was an ICO in 2014, can someone give me details on how exactly this took place and how many investors got how many coins approx. B) There has been a change of devs, what exactly happened and why? c) I read most coins are already mined - any details on how the coin-distribution took place exactly and how VIA intends to icentivise miners to mine (fees only?) - Any other interesting info much appreciated, thanks.
Feel free to direct me to any source that seems legit instead of explaining by yourself.
Thanks in advance!

This coin shows a very good result unlike most other coins. It is very volatile and gives us a great opportunity to earn.

From the beginning, Viacoin was like that, because Viacoin is one of the legendary coins that still survives until now. If you have some viacoin it is very beneficial for the long term.

I apologize for not looking at what this project is for; therefore, I wrote a not very intelligible comment. I think this project has a small chance to survive a little more.

You do realize that Viacoin is here since 2014. Viacoin is basically older than your own bitcointalk account.

A) My administration from this time was a bit shoddy, but as far as I can recall I got 5568 VIA for a 0.3 BTC investment, giving it a price of 5388 satoshi in the ICO. I found this overview page: https://questions.coincheckup.com/viacoin/all-available-information-on-the-viacoin-via-ico/ It says the initial price was $0.037, this sort of corresponds with the price of 5388 sat and a BTC price of around $600. Just not sure about the bonus structures anymore and the exact date of purchase. I think you could maybe find more information with some more in depth Googling B) At the time BTC Drak became a BTC Core developer. I think the workload was too high to continue working on VIA so he handed over the reigns to the extremely competent prodigy Romano C) Distribution was partly done by the ICO and the remainder by PoW Scrypt mining. I'm not sure in what sense miners would need to be incentivized after all VIA have been mined, since it is merge mined with BTC, but maybe Romano could chime in here?

Funny to see such non-competent fudding comments about VIA, as above.. Our ancient coin has survived a lot of crashes and will maintain it`s share of payment market, till the end of crypto.

As i am writing Bitcoin dips again, i hope we can sustain the 8000 satoshi level for Viacoin.
Where the bottom lies for Bitcoin? nobody knows. Is this market manipulation? yes probably if you ask me.
In my opinion they are confusing the markets, and a lot of people will impulse trade.
I'm going to be fair, i lost a decent amount of money but sold nothing and will not sell, even if it meant to be that i lost everything what i have invested.
Yes, it sucks to lose hard earned money, definitely if you have not much to spend each month, and what you can spend you bought cryptocurrency for it recent months.
But i am not seeking compassion here, i did it myself, and tought the market was slowly recovering, well we all know how that turned out.
Thats why i am thinking this is pure market manipulation, after this peak in 2017/2018 there where these support levels around 6000, than in the end almost a straight line just above support.
Than suddenly it crashes way below, so a lot of people including me, intented it either was slowly recovering or was still in the bear cycle but not at a speed like this.
Also the price of BTC jumps to little after a decline like this, it is more like the decline and than it is sustained.
But i am convinced it will recover, there's to much going on in the cryptocurrency space.
Just to make a few examples:
1. Goldman Sachs one of the biggest investment banks will open a crypto trading desk in the near future.
2. Remember the Crypto-vault in switzerland, where probably for million if not billion dollars worth of bitcoin is stored.
But with a decline like this, there are also coming some positives.
1.You have the chance if you bought cryptocurrency for a higher price, to decrease your dollar average drastically.
But never put in to much, if you have let say 100 dollars, it's better to buy 4 x 25 dollars than all at once, don't be in a hurry.
2. There's probably coming a whole new audience, that are going to see chances and will buy cryptocurrency.
And the crypto-community will become bigger.
3. Also have a close look to the wealth-distribution charts, the ones with a very large wallet, probably will sell a x percentage of their funds, and smaller investors pick that up, making it better distributed, what in the long term provide for more liquidity.
Is my opinion changed about Viacoin with the recent price changes?
Not at all, 90% of my holdings are in Viacoin. Because it has all the features, what i think are important.
Also i am realy thrilled to see when market recovery occurs, how fast viacoin will recover, if my thought about no inflation is right, viacoin should recover faster than others.
Because with cryptocurrency that have a higher inflation, the miners have much more to sell, before the price will increase.
But that aside.
I am convinced people who have invested or received Viacoin from friends or whatever, are going to stick with it.
It's a great working product, easy to use, sending and receiving is almost instant without using LN and the android copay wallet is ready to use within 2 minutes.
A big plus for me is also that it is trading on Binance one of the biggest exchanges in the world, and with a BNB trading pair, which not all coins have !
And patiently waiting for all the updates that are coming like:
The lightning network what is going to be released in the near future, also the anonymous samourai wallet.
And a lot more !
Few examples: Styx anonymous transactions - Schnorr signatures - MAST - Smart contracts - Submarine swaps - Colored coins
But we will see how thing will turn out.
Thanks for reading and i will see you next time in what market conditions that may be !
Bye

As vast majority of VIA`s roadmap is already executed, all we have to accelerate is merchant adoption and fighting with payment oriented coins, like Nano and LTC. This is what our devs should be focused mostly.

Thank you very much for your response! According to this page, only 10.86% of coins were distributed during ICO: https://chasing-coins.com/ico/VIAIs this correct and if yes, all the other coins were mined later?`
