btw, xchange.me has a slightly better exchange rate.
Ah yes. We have xchange.me too. Shapeshift won't hold their monopoly for long.

Great that Coinzark added Viacoin.
Definitely going to try it soon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Also the Viacoin team updated the roadmap.
Lightning network is almost ready now !

As I`m not fully aware of lightening network details, isn`t it activated and already running as for now? Or are we waiting for it`s implementation for the next year?

Ah yes. We have xchange.me too. Shapeshift won't hold their monopoly for long. There's also another accountless exchange named flyp.me (they also have their native token) but I don't think that there's Viacoin there iirc

Just like with Bitcoin, you can use the lightning network for Viacoin right now. C-lightning or Eclair wallet. Can be found on github. The reason people don't use it yet (same for bitcoin) it will require people to understand it first a bit before using it. It needs some time.

Do you think that those wallets will enable multi currency support plus atomic swaps? As far as decentralization goes, it would be perfect (for coins which share the same codebase)

But I am working privately on my own github account on an Atomic Swap for altcoins (just like the decred one) but without the need for participants to run a (full) node/wallet of the coins at all. People on twitter are excited about that. Because without the need for a wallet/node (rpc) has never been done.

You can now anonymously swap Viacoin with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ripple, Monero, Dash, Zcash, Zcoin, Dogecoin, DigiByte, Vertcoin, Monacoin, Groestlcoin, Feathercoin, Reddcoin, Blackcoin, Peercoin and Ravencoin on www.coinzark.com. The swap feature will help to raise total liquidity of Viacoin significantly in the future. When community widely known about the new feature on VIAcoin network, they will use the coin more for their daily transactions.

Already fixed everything yesterday. Check if you are running the latest vialectrum version. It took me 2 entire days to fix the server side issues & create a new client with extra features. So there's a new vialectrum client coming out soon.

Hey Romano, sorry to derail, but curious if there was there ever a "post mortem" of what happened with XCH (clearinghouse) / Btcdrak, is that Via project alive/dead? I have always been super pissed and felt scammed, with btcdrak collecting 400+btc in 2014 and then riding off into the sunset pretty much without much warning or even much minimal maintenance of the project. I invested pretty heavily knowing he was a "core dev", so I figured less downside risk (at least compared to most crypto projects). I don't have access to my coins anymore, and don't have much expectation at this point, but am still stunned and trying to figure out what went wrong as that seemed like such a strong investment at the time. At one point I think I heard you got the remaining dev funds and were going to bring the project back, but my memory is fuzzy

If anyone wants to bring it back, feel free to do so. Doubt exchanges will list it again anyways (especially with the listing funds these days)

Already fixed everything yesterday. Check if you are running the latest vialectrum version. It took me 2 entire days to fix the server side issues & create a new client with extra features. So there's a new vialectrum client coming out soon. V3.3.2 works like a charm. Transfers so quickly too! (I tested the portable version). Only issue(s) observed, "View on block explorer" directs to a 404 page on Blockchair, and the Windows shortcut displays an "L" not "V" like the earlier versions. Thanks much Romano, your effort is truly appreciated.

New Vialectrum version released !
https://github.com/viacoin/vialectrum/releases/latest
Hodler's Edition (January 21, 2019)
* Fix Qt history export bug * Improve network timeouts * Prepend server transaction_broadcast error messages with explanatory message. Render error messages as plain text. * The network layer has been rewritten using asyncio and aiorpcx. In addition to easier maintenance, this makes the client more robust against misbehaving servers. * The minimum python version was increased to 3.6 * The blockchain headers and fork handling logic has been generalized. Clients by default now follow chain based on most work, not length. * New wallet creation defaults to native segwit (bech32). * Segwit 2FA: TrustedCoin now supports native segwit p2wsh two-factor wallets. * RBF batching (opt-in): If the wallet has an unconfirmed RBF transaction, new payments will be added to that transaction, instead of creating new transactions. * fix viacoin URI handling when app already running (#4796) * Qt listings rewritten: the History tab now uses QAbstractItemModel, the other tabs use QStandardItemModel. Performance should be better for large wallets. * Several other minor bugfixes and usability improvements. * Revealer: the PRNG used has been changed (#4649) * Fix DNS resolution on Windows * Fix websocket bug in daemon

Viacoin like any pow coin can be hit with 51% attack, the benefit of merge mining is that litecoin miners can also mine viacoin with no extra work needed, so the hash rate is insanely larger than another scrypt coin without merge mining, therefore reducing the likelihood of an attack almost nil.
