Seems BU has an uphill battle if it wants to succeed... Doesn't seem likely.

Yet we will still continue to see new "BU is winning, hard fork imminent!!" threads spamming the board every 4 hours for the next week probably. Facts no longer matter, only the loudest proclamation matters, it would seem. It's a wonder how some people can still tie their shoes.

Edit: in reality, I don't think people are stupid, I do think that a lot of misinformation is attributed to the English to every-other-language barrier. Much is lost in translation especially when using idioms, which happen to be heavily utilized in news headlines.

If you put precisely 4 people on ignore, you'll see absolutely no threads or responses in this regard and would wonder why anyone would consider BU a realistic topic of discussion. Hint none of them have posted in this thread yet, but they'll be here shortly.

Cool, Kolivas in the house. Thanks for the tip. My morbid curiosity will probably continue to get the best of me though.  Cheesy

Maybe my mention of the 4 special trolls forum members has made them NOT post as a way of trying to prove... something?

From those graphs, the only one that is representative is the hashrate one. Both are close... and both have not enough support.

The node count, etc. is cheaply fakeable, and has little value IMHO

BCC vs. BCU

This is different, I'd say it's based on the thought that the fork will never happen rather than whether traders support it.  Imaginary BU coins obviously won't trade as high as Bitcoin unless they're being pumped by a few whales who want Bitcoin to be centralised like Jihan Wu (and I'm surprised that they're not being pumped but I guess they're focusing on screwing over small miners).

Still obvious that BTC is far superior to BTU though, since no one actually trusts Bitcoin Unlimited enough to run nodes from them with all their incompetence and bugs.

I was kind of worried for a while but now I don't think there is anyway for BU to succeed. This doesn't mean that SegWit will succeed either. BU is just dangerous to the success of Bitcoin, hopefully they will give up and stop pushing shitty code and centralization. I could get behind a non-core Bitcoin if it was good and it had real community support, however all we have is Core ATM.

Seems f2pool may be planning to switch to SegWit support.

Well that news (f2pool going to SW) might resolve this, I would hope so.  Then we can move on.

To the next BTC crisis du jour.  Looks like Bit_Happy has had it right in his thread (can we do without the drama and BS in Bitcoin).

A little bit of stability at this point would probably encourage more to use Bitcoin.

I wouldn't second guess f2pool:

Scaling and transaction rate: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=532.msg6306#msg6306
Do not allow demand to exceed capacity. Do not allow mempools to forget transactions. Relay all transactions. Eventually confirm all transactions.
