Yes, there are many events around bitcoin ecosystem happening but within bitcoin ecosystem there is a big debate is going on. Until we make a conclusion on scalability issue, I guess bitcoin prices may show more volatility in coming days. But it would be great for active traders, they could make big profits like ~$250 per bitcoin within a week.

There are still good cheap coins like QTUM and Chronobank's TIME. How about Litecoin, Dogecoin and other coins. Not all cheap coins are already pump, just do the "buy low sell high" rule. Invest while coins are not yet fully pumped.

the Chinese news is old stuff and more importantly i don't think the timing of it is right. if it were any other time there may have been some effects and price tanking but now is the time for rise, specially with the altcoin pumps nearing an end a lot of money is coming back into bitcoin these days.

Suppose they decide not to permit withdrawls after all. What happens to those coins? Do they get auctioned off? Do the exchanges keep them? Do they get suddenly dumped on the western exchanges by shady characters?

who cares, the Chinese don't matter as much as they did back in the days. we all know very well that the volume they have been reporting has been very fake and besides all those Chinese that mattered (the whales and good traders) left the exchanges in that initial timeframe where withdrawals were still possible. now they are all doing their trades elsewhere. such as on localbitcoins and wester exchanges.

If you think that the Chinese wont be having any control over the price from on now with Japan adopting bitcoin that is just a belief,with more people and investment coming into bitcoin we are seeing much less volatility and it is not because China is controlling and now they have lost control over the coin. If anyone has any monopoly or control over bitcoin they could very well control it a couple of years back and with increase in price it is really difficult to make some major changes.

They do matter because quite a lot of bitcoins are trapped on their exchanges.

They'll have the same effect as when the MtGox coins suddenly come back on the market once the bankruptcy is resolved.

as i am writing this price is $984 according to bitfinex and it seems like the opportunity to buy cheap coins with a big discount is now officially over.

finally the sell pressure is not to be seen and it seems to me like FOMO[1] is kicking in. specially since many weak hands sold their coins in the depressing days recently. lets see where this ends up. i hope everyone learns some lessons from this.

I find it funny: last week the price dipped basically to about $900 and no one bought. The only thing people within the community believed was this false idea of a hard fork and, because they believed all the FUD, they too became overly pessimistic about Bitcoin.

Everyone thought it'd be the end of the currency. That dop was the final straw.

Rational people would post saying you'd better buy now - but no one listened. They just bowed down to the crooks at Bitcoin Unlimited.

And what do you know. The price has soared to a staggering $1100. How many people were able to cash in? I know I have.

However, will the people learn their lesson? My guess is no. So when the price falls to $900 again in the next few weeks (volatility allows for it), will you lose your money? It's a new strategy: profit from pessimism.

what you don't get is that the dip was because of FUD and market makers wanting to make some big profit both from the bitcoin price drop and also the pumps that altcoin had because of this dip.

and also coming up with another FUD as big as this one to drop the price back to "sub-900" is not easy. you can't come up with random stuff and spread it, it needs to be a good FUD to be effective and they are rare. so if you haven't bought yet, Worry because it is now over unless they come up with another good FUD.

At this moment maybe you can't have a right opportunity to buy as bitcoin bounced back to 1200 dollars value and it seems that the price is getting slight stable in some days which makes it more hard to assume that it will go higher .
