I've read that it downloads hulu in native never-encrypted format (ready to watch) but for all other services that it supports it captures the very large uncompressed video off the widevine output which then can be encoded how you like.

Ok, so this is not the latest tool, which is around. For a few weeks its possible to download amz and nf as "ready to watch" max 1080p encodes. All decrypted, top notch quality.

How can you tell that they have not been re-encoded from uncompressed form?  Those can look pretty good too.

If there is a new tool or new version of this tool that downloads/decrypts the native amz/nf files without any uncompressed step in between, it probably hasn't leaked yet and if it is closely held, it probably won't leak for awhile.

If I had the (old) leaked tool, I would log the network traffic in order to reverse engineer the native hulu download method. Has anyone who has the tool done that?

There are Release now which are tagged WEB-DL Amz or WEB-DL NF and some text like " direct stream demux of blablabla". These are untouched "ready to watch" encodes from amz and nf.

The encoded releases from uncompressed files are tagged WEBRips.
